I have a flash loop with a function inside (nothing special, just looks through some text files on hard drive). However, some of the files don't satisfy, this is expected and the program throws an error as expected. No surprises there.But! I would like it to move on to the next text file when it finds a bad text file. Instead, it just stops everything.[code]
im a digital artist (beginner) and i want to make some flash animations..i downloaded the flash cs3 (after seeing some comments that cs5 it not a big deall) from adobe but when i tried to install it i got an error so i download it from another site but i got the same error after extracting the files and tried to install English:: setup has detected an error and can not continue. For assistance contact customer support Adobe im not soure but i thing that at the one i downloaded from adobe site i got something like '' can not extract files'' then got the error from above so maybe some files are missing here are the files i got after they got extracted
I've been looking at other posts and trying to cobble this together, but am lost.I have a movie I need to play from frames 1-45 five times then continue from frame 50 to frame 70 and stop.on frame one I have the following script (in a layer for actions)
I'm wrestling with an issue right now and I'm hoping for some help, and more so, I'm hoping I can explain my problem. With the thought of a "fill in the blank/drag and drop/string replacement" interaction, here's how my swf works:
I have a various movie clips that can be dropped on various movie clips.When one movie clip is dropped on another, the corresponding __#__ within myTitle.text will be replaced with a string that is related to the movie clip that was just dropped: i.e. myTitle.text becomes 'This is the most annoying [thing]...'Per that example I just mentioned, in the code below, my for loop searches for __1__ and moves the hTarg movie clips accordingly.Once a __1__ is replaced with the associated string I mentioned, the indexOf the __1__ becomes null because it no longer exists in the string, and the following startRect(s) below also become null. So, my question is: How do I continue to loop through my for loop if the first index is null? I hope this makes sense, and I'm hoping someone can ituit what I'm trying to do based of my lousy explanation. If more clarification is needed, let me know and I will do my best to further explain.
I got a for/foreach loop the calls a function inside of it. The prolem is that the function being-called doesnt fininsh it's job before the loop goes over again/ Here is my code:
[Code].....
As you can see i want to add an item (notfriend) in MYFRIENDS unction, "notfriend" is defined inside the loop, but by the time "MYFRIENDS" function finish loading the item already changes to the next item even though i was originally refering to the previous item. Is there a way to maybe hold the FORloop until "myfriends" function finish loading.
I wanted to use Eventlistener on "myfriends" function , but then what do i do to stophold the loop? all i know is BREAK-which destroyes the FOR-LOOP and CONTINUE-which continue the loop from the next iterate.
I have only been using flash for a few months and have not yet utilized setInterval. I have a loop that I want to run through once and then pause and then continue etc. So I can have each little test.swf pop up one by one rather than all at once

My random image generation works but every so often an error message is output as follows:-Error #2007: Parameter request must be non-null.Here's my code:-
var ImgReq01:URLRequest=new URLRequest("images/random/image01.jpg");var ImgReq02:URLRequest=new URLRequest("images/random/image02.jpg");var ImgReq03:URLRequest=new URLRequest("images/random/image03.jpg");var ImgReq04:URLRequest=new
You cannot declare more than one variable with the same identifier name within the same scope unless all such variables are declared to be of the same type. In ActionScript 3.0, different code blocks (such as those used in two for loops in the same function definition) are considered to be in the same scope.
What the friggin hell is this? I mean the i variable is all the time exists as a Number, typecasted as a Number, why the hell would the above code then fail?
Code: I have a very simple flash video, with a strange problem that I understand how to resolve normally, but not when it pops up on the second run. Basically I have a scrolling banner with 4 panels that all link to different site. The panels scroll across the stage, then move out, and the next banner comes across and so on. Not complicated at all. But all of the sudden I'm getting:
I have the following function constantly running to check for collision between a player-controlled ball (mcBall) and a number of walls (aptly named mcWall1, mcWall2, etc.): (the var numberofwalls gets its own value in each different frame where there is a different number of movieclips.)
On very slow machines (>p200Mhz) I sometimes get an error that says "A script in the movie is causing macromedia flash player 6 to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive. Do you want to abort the script?" Yes, No.
I have a loop function that populates a listbox, sometimes the file it loops from is over 2000 lines, and takes a long time for the listbox to populate. In this time I get the error. If I hit No on the error everything works just fine. I am almost for sure there is no problem with my script, flash just thinks the loop is set to infinity or something and pops open the error box.
i have a very simple animation in flash CS4. My image travels from point X to point Y over 90 frames.I would like the image to stop at frame 45 for a few seconds, before continuing.
I keep getting the #1009 error coming up, i checked that everything was on my stage and was named correctly.This is the error message that comes up:TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.at Videogame_fla::MainTimeline/loop()Here is my code:
var carrot:Number = Math.floor(Math.random() * 460) +0; var carrot1:Number = Math.floor(Math.random() * 460) +0; var carrot2:Number = Math.floor(Math.random() * 460)+0;
A considerable amount of space is used up by .apk files on my phone with apps which cannot be moved to the sdcard (Adobe Flash and Google Maps). In those directories, there are .apk files. Can I delete these to save space and have the application work as it did before?
I have an issue with Flash optimization (I guess). The thing is, when you switch to another browser tab/window, scroll down it's window... anything that makes Flash disappear stops its runtime. I've found out that this optimization system was introduced in Flash Player 10.1 - it slows down Flash Player to 2fps in order to lower it's CPU and memory usage. My question is - how do I skip it? I want my animation to play even when it's not visible by all means whatsoever. Is it in the embed code? Publish Settings? Or maybe I need to insert some AS into my timeline? Each site has a Flash content (mostly banners) which behave in the normal way - they run in the background - but everything I publish and upload freezes (it actually plays at 2fps, but the effect is pretty much the same). Here's an example: when I open any flash site, a preloader appears, so I switch to another tab to do something in the mean time, when I assume it has loaded, I switch back and there it is - a loaded Flash site. But when I open MY Flash site or animation, switch tabs and wait for it to load, and after a while when I come back, the preloader is still at the beginning and continues doing its stuff from the very moment it shows up again. This is not how thing suppose to work. I can open directly the simplest animation there can be - a simple motion tween of a ball from one side of a screen to another, when the tab holding it becomes active after a while, the animation is still at the beginning, but the animation is short/fast and it supposed to have finished already. I've found out something about Activate and Deactivate Events, but they are used in Flash games - so it would pause when the game loses focus. But this works on the Flash object, not whole browser itself.
I have a small flash tidbit that is basically used like a menu. It scrolls through the thumbnails left and right, when clicked the pages navigates to the appropriate location. However, the flash movie jumps back to the beginning of the movie. Is there anyway I can get it to stay in the same spot when the page is changed? I tried using iframes, but this did not work out, it had the same result. ref:[URL] to see the problem scroll the images to the right and select 'wall boarder buddy' (fourth image from the left) this takes you the page and the flash resets to its original position.
i want simulate Billiard ball in my project. but my code does not work good. when start with (for example) 34 degree , when hit with wall(stage in this example) return with true degree. in flash , as3
I have a number of menu buttons (home, about, contact, etc). Each button loads a new/different movieclip onto the scene. Each movieclip when loaded plays up to frame 25 and stops. When I click on any of the menu buttons, I want the current/loaded movieclip to continue playing until it reaches the end of the clip before loading the next. I tried this actionscript with no luck!
My problem is that whenever I switch frames the music in my flash project restarts and overlaps and sounds incredibly crappy. Is there any way I can make it so that my music opens on my first frame and continues playing through all subsequent frames? Oh and by the way here is the code I'm using:
which everything seems fine, but when i implement a slider on a page inside a folder in the root (i.e. aboutus/index.aspx) i get that error when the slider is trying to call the images.I have similar slider animations in pages located in the root folder and in those i get no problem at all, seems it only happens when the page is located inside a folder.The website is done using main.master on asp, maybe the cache or rendering of the website is missing something, hope someone has had something similar or know how to get around this.
"256 levels of recursion were exceeded in one action list.This is probably an infinite loop.Further execution of actions has been disabled in this movie."Why do I get this error (above) when I use the code (below)? Why isn't this acceptable? [I use function similar to this in Javascript with no problem.][code]
Here is my site sans looping video: [URL] I am setting my video up to loop. I used the following code: __________________________________________________ ___________ [Code]...
I have been pulling my hair out on this one for too long. I have a web banner that uses Erik Hallander's Pixelator Class. Everything works fine when the timeline plays just once, but as soon as it loops I get error:
ArgumentError: Error #2015: Invalid BitmapData.
I have tried removeChild, removeEventListener, nulling the variables involved, disposing of the BitmapData. I also tried some conditional statements depending on the loop but no success. The actual class code is beyond my experience.
I'm trying to use the for each loop for the project I'm working on but this doesn't seem to work. "for" and "in" are terms recognized by flash (they turn blue when you finish typing them) but "each" does not. And of course I get a compiling error because the compiler does not recognize it. Did adobe change the wording of this loop?
I'm trying to do a binary search in a for loop. However, flash does not like the following for loop. for(var select:int = Math.floor((min + max / 2)), var turns:int = 0; turns < input.length / 2 + 1; turns++, select= Math.floor((min + max / 2))){ if(input[select] > want){ max = select; } else if (input[select] < want){ min = select; } else { return select; }}
On the first line I get 1084: Syntax error: expecting identifier before var. I think I know why (I'm using , to separate the different statements), but how do I fix it? ; won't work since it's what the for loop uses. ( var select:int = Math.floor((min + max / 2)) ; var turns:int = 0); turns < input.length / 2 + 1; //etc does not work either.
I have been getting the following error occasionally when running my flash file.Error #1502: A script has executed for longer than the default timeout period of 15 seconds.at Sr_fla::CenterTemperature_10/frame2()After the error occurs I can dismiss it and the error will not reoccur unless the flash file is closed and reopened - even though I am running the same code over and over.I have traced out all of my loops and feel confident there is not and infinite loop.I read a note on the forums that mentioned this error can occur when a large calculation takes place.I am doing some semi-complex calculations. Maybe that is the cause. Below I have posted some snippets of code from my work. Essentially I have a script which tests a variable (CenterTemperature) to make sure it is within certain bounds.Then a looping movieclip reads the variable and scales another movieclip accordingly.[code]
