When I select the text tool in Flash and click on screen to type, my text box is default rotated 90Ė clockwise. In addition, the text is default bottom aligned so when you hit return, the next line is above the first line. So, simply rotating it back doesn't
Even my properties box align buttons are rotated: I should add that the little rotation button you see for "orientation" is not the fix- it rotates individual letters.I can't find anything in the menus, toolbars or preferences to change this...
What does work : I want to put a dynamic textfield on my stage.Then i change the content of this field with AS3.But : when I rate the textfield on my stage, the text disappears.And I have embedded my font (also 'Export for actionscript')...I prefer not to put any textfields on the stage using ASSo the only code I use is : ActionScript Code:this.trial.text = "this is a test";
Using textfields. I need vertical text, rotated so that you could read it from bottom up. I can do it with static textfields, but I need to change the content of the textfield, so I cant use static textfield class. What other options are there? I've heard something about embedding fonts does the trick. The thing with embedding the font....I read that if it works, it increases the swf size quite significantly. Atm I am using a very narrow text field with multiline so that one letter is on a separate line, but it doesnt look good and I need to change it.
I have an issue with font scaling of a dynamic text box.
Currently i have one input box named input_1 with a variable attached to it named "choc_1".
Also, i have a dynamic text box named dynamic_1 with variable "choc_1".
When the user types something on the input box then the dynamic box changes instantly and displays what the user has written.
auto scale-size the fonts to a smaller size if the user types many letters.
The input_1 box has a 13 character limit. My initial font size is 200, i want to scale down so when the user types 10 letters they fit the box and they don't go out of screen. I want to use one line, so wrap or multiline is not possible.
here's a code that i'm trying to fix but i can't get the dynamic box to change:
I'm using an open-source Flash mp3 player. In comes in two swf versions. One plays a list of songs and displays the album cover(s). The other version just plays one song. The problem is that the single-song version loads some default text that I want to change (I was able to do this in the other version via the external playlist file). I'm a Flash newbie, and when I open the fla file the player's author provides, I can't find where this default text is located. (The playlist version works fine; its default text relates to what the user will get when they click on the file titles.) Playlist version that works OK - [URL] Single song version with wrong default text - [URL]
Example text in white and background in black. [URL]If you select the text something is happening. But the default colors are not really set well. In HTML is automatic done, but in AS3? If the background is white and tekst black it works all fine....
I have an InputText field for users to submit information to me. I want to have the text field display some default text (Ex. Type E-Mail Here) and then when the field is clicked, the text will be cleared. After a long time of searching a found a solution that works perfectly....using ActionScript 2.0. Unfortunately my site is in 3.0 therefore I cannot use this code. For the example I want my default text to be "Type E-Mail Here", and the InputText Instance Name will be "inputTxt"
Here is the 2.0 ActionScript Code: inputTxt.textField = "Type E-Mail Here..." inputTxt.onSetFocus = function() { inputTxt.textField = "" }; inputTxt.onKillFocus = function() { inputTxt.textField = "Type E-Mail Here..." };
When using this code in AS3, I get the error code "1120: Access of undefined property inputTxt". What do I need to make this code work in AS3?
I'm encountering a problem I did not think of. I have a single textfield, that oncesubmitted via "Get" method, sends the data to the site (Think of a google search field in a banner).In any case, I have some default text in the field. But when someone clicks on the submitbutton, the default text gets submitted as the search string. Is there a way to get the result from submitting the form without entering text into the textfield to be a default URL, and not the text string? See Below:

The selected text in white is really not good visible selected.Why flash does not suppor that?http://lionhead.nl/voorbeelden/flash_selected_text_error/Flash%20text% 20error.htmlHow come there is nowhere to set anything to make this work properly. Like in html does this automatic?Adobe is this a bug or not for this?
i have a text input box in which i want to insert Hebrew (RTL language) text. now, the RTL support i need is basic, and thats easy enough to do. however, for entering hebrew in the box, the user has to set hebrew in his windows language bar. is there a way of making the default input language in the box hebrew, regardless of what is currently set in the language bar? note - the hebrew characters are showing just fine, its just that to enter them you have to make sure the language bar is set to hebrew as well.
I've created a code that read the date of a day from xml and then put it into a textfield. Here the declaration of the textfield: Code: var dateTxt:TextField = new TextField();
After I set for the textfield a format and the maxchars property: Code: dateTxt.defaultTextFormat = txtSTit; dateTxt.maxChars = 8;
But if I insert a number of characters bigger that maxChars it is inserted in the textfield ignoring the maxChars property. It's because I've set the defaultTextFormat before to set the maxChars property?
I get the following warning when I run my application:
warning: incompatible embedded font 'Arial' specified for spark.components::Label (Label104).This component requires that the embedded font be declared with embedAsCff=true.
The application I am working on is a mix of Halo and Sparks components as I am migrating it to Flex 4. The text that is showing in the text fields is defaulting the systems serif font. There are a few problems with this warning.
1) I am not embedding any fonts in the application. I am not even assigning the Arial font to any of the components.
2) If I check the "Use Flash Text Engine in MX components", then all the text fields in the app throw the warning. Not just the sparks text fields.
Why does flex 4 think that I am using an embedded font with the sparks components? Is there any way to get around this warning and have the text fields use a non embedded font?
In the Spark DataGrid the default row height is about 22 px. I would like to set the default row height to 18 pixels and I can do this easily enough with the rowHeight property but what happens is when the rowHeight is set to anything less than 22 px the bottom area of the text in each row is cut off. It seems that the default grid itemrenderer or grid label has a min height set to it. Since I have multiple columns and want to have shorter rows but not have the bottom of the text cut off in each row how would I do this?
So, I've been working on this for a few days and what drives me nuts is this is a simple file with a lot of simple script and I still can't figure out what this error is and how to fix it: Property 0 not found on flash.text.TextField and there is no default value The script below what we're looking at, everything is drawn with AS3, there are no library objects (save for the font). I sort of understand what the error is saying, but I don't fully understand it or how to fix it.
[Code]....
Edit: I've searched through similar problems, but couldn't find a proper solution.
my web site has a lots of text field. it is xml based site.it is locally run perfectly but after i upload it to my server it's text fields' fonts replace to default fonts.some text gone down.so its confused to me.i used Myridpro font.now it is replace to default font .can u tell what is the solution for that..? I am facing a curious issue. Generally when we draw lines in Flash either vertically or horizontally or through exact 45 degrees on either of the sides, they come out as straight and anti-aliased. While if they are drawn deviated from either 0 or 45 degrees, they come out as jagged. I want that to be anti-aliased too
this math isn't working well. I'm using it for a rotated drag and drop (of a tone arm on a vinyl, a kind of abstract turntable simulation). Right now it just moves a bit in the middle of the vinyl (values between 21 and 36, is this degree or what unit is this?), but it should move between the two edges. The problem is that I don't know enough about trigonometry functions. Therefore I can't optimize the math for envisaged behaviour. Does anybody have an idea/tip how I can get a bit more control on the math and its effect? (maybe with more trace functions)
I am currently making a game based on slicing other objects, basiclly when you hold down and drag your mouse and then release it an object that shows the cut will be created.
I have made an application where you can design your own greeting cards. I use matrices to scale and rotate images, and I always need to know what scale the image has.
It works when the image isn't rotated, by taking the value from matrix.a or .d which are the scaleX and scaleY values. But when I rotate the image, using the matrix.rotate() function, the a and d values no longer corresponds to the scale of the image.
How can I get/calculate the scale value of an object that is rotated? And I don't want to scale the image by using the scaleX and scaleY methods.
I need to rotate the imageClip,then zoom in,then i need to scroll the imageClip fully.ve the tutorial for thisboth horizontal and vertical scroll for Rotated imageClip..
Suppose I have a Sprite (A) that is constanly being rotated (as often as the mouse moves).
I have another Sprite (B) that is a child of (A). It makes sense that B is a Child of A because I want B's position to be relative to A's position, and I want B to become invisible when A goes invisible, etc.
However, I would like B NOT to rotate when A rotates. Is there a way to omit B from rotating when A rotates, even though B is A's child?
I know I could do something like B.rotation = - A.rotation everytime A gets rotated, but that feels like a clunky hack to me... there must be a better way?
Currently I'm considering making B a separate object, and not a child of A. But thats not much better because then I have to keep B updated with A's position and visibility, etc...
