IDE :: Slider Rotates The Container With The Images Using Tweener Class And EaseOutCubic Transition
Apr 29, 2009
I am working on a gallery: the slider rotates the container with the images using Tweener class and easeOutCubic transition. There are 45+ images around the center of the container The movement is not smooth, especially when comparing to the way it would be with a small container. Also, and most important - A rough "snap" appears randomly in the end of the motion.
I just need some direction or insight as to how others might handle this task. I lack the necessary AS3 skills, but still think it's overly complicated for being such a simple task. I have a set of images (say 10) on stage. I need to loop through this set over and over again... each image fades in... holds for some time... then fades out as the next image fades in. But each image has its own website link when it has focus. So far I've encountered trouble when dealing with alpha & visible settings. It's like you can't have one without the other and vice versa. Visible allows separate links to hold but only alpha allows the tween motion. All of my code is on frame 1.
How can I add a Squeeze transition effect between frames using the transition manager class on a simple slideshow using the goBack and goForward functions in ActionScript3? Below is the code I have so far:
stop(); function goBack(event:MouseEvent):void {[code].....
still progressing with the rotating menu, I am trying change the values so that I can position correctly but I can't seem to tweak it? as the menu rotates the other images resize and get smaller, I think its somewhere within the script that is doing this, I would like it not to resize as it rotates away from center. but I can't seem to find what is making it do this? is this making any sense, i have been changing these values, but not quite working; values I have been looking at on the circleMenu.as at line 38
I have a swf that loads external images from an xml feed (using moviecliploader) and then rotates through these images every n seconds. This works fine in ie and it loads the images and scrolls through them. However in Firefox sometimes it loads the image and sometimes it doesn't! its like a lucky dip haha Is there any link that you know of to any information on this bug/issue with firefox that might help me resolve this? Found something that might be causing the problem, if Firefox cannot find the image within a certain time it just gives up... is this true?
I'm using a carousel script that rotates some images, the speed of the rotation depends on where the mouse is on the screen. The project I put it into is 962 pixels wide, the carousel itself is about 400 pixels wide, I want it positioned on the right half of the project, so I put the code in a blank movie clip and positioned it on the right.
It works fine, but the problem is the rotation gets crazy fast as the mouse moves to the left side of the stage, because there's so much more space on the left then there is on the right. I only want for it to stop gaining speed when the mouse leaves the carousel area.
Code:
//We use 70x70 sized images (change this if different for your images) const IMAGE_WIDTH:uint = 70; const IMAGE_HEIGHT:uint = 70;
I am implementing the flash slider, Piecemaker, for the first time in my latest project. I've got a problem with it's animation being cropped by the width and height of its container, and I cannot for the life of me work out how to let it overflow outside its container during animations. There is also a weird problem I've just noticed that the top of the slider gets clipped off for some reason? who's worked with piecemaker, or something similar, or a css ninja see what the problem is? Here is the demo as it is at the moment - Link
If you look at my Flash file "Grid.fla" (again see attached files) you'll see a group of 14 images which are loaded from an XML file ("Grid.xml") and when the user rolls their mouse over an image it uses the Tweener library to animate the image into its full size.
The problem is I need the images to animate into the center of the screen - see an example of what I'm trying to achieve by opening the SWF file within the attached ZIP called "StormGallery.swf".
But I have no idea how to do add this type of animation into my "Grid.fla" file!
I would like to use the Tweener class, but I have no clue where I should put the files in my actionscript directory in flash.
EDIT: I tried looking up after some tutorials, everybody is talking about that I should put the "gs" folder in my fla directory, thats not really usefull if there is not even a "gs" directory in the zip I downloaded! All the files are in the "greensock" directory, but when I try to import it I get:
Code: Select all5001: The name of package 'com.greensock' does not reflect the location of this file. Please change the package definition's name inside this file, or move the file. C:gsTweenLite.as
I've got a property, var angleX:Number; declared right after my class declaration (therefore available to each function in the class). How do I go about tweening this value with Tweener? Specifically, I'm trying to do it in a mouse press event but am stumped by the object i need to pass - the keyword "this" isn't working.
Using the tweener class to control After Effects/embedded FLVs, I cannot figure out why I can't get all three of my buttons to work. The first one works fine, but the second two do not work at all. They do not even show the pointer finger cursor on ROLL_OVER. I have 3 FLVs each with a named instance and each with a button symbol for a hit spot also with a named instance.
I am working on a UI that makes heavy use of the Tweener class, and which also loads an external .swf that I believe also uses the Tweener class.
After tracking down all kinds of buggy behavior, I'm thinking that the problem is that the loaded .swf is making calls to Tweener.removeAllTweens() *(This is just an assumption) and stopping other tweens that are happening in my UI.
Is this possible, and if so, is it possible to isolate the two versions of the Tweener class so that they don't reference the same object?
The first on is using the Tweener class and everytime that I press a button it fades out the loaded content of the previous selection, waits for it to finish and then loads the content of the button pressed. Everything works fine with this part. The second code is the on that is using an Array to dynamicaly rollover, rollout and keep selected the buttons.It was also changing the content of the mc that everything is loaded on but without this fancy fade in - fade out...!!
how i could make the transition from my last photo to the first photo a more correct transition. maybe my explanation was difficult to understand?? take a look at these two sites(owendawsonphotography.com / owendawsonpga.com) and look at the rotating slide show. when the last image fades out it goes to complete white and the first image comes in at full opacity. I want it to look like the other transitions in the slideshow.
I'm developing an ActionScript 3.0 app for Blackberry Playbook.I'm using Loader Class to show an image.I want to show another image, at the same place, when the user clicks on this image.How can I do that? I would like to make a transition between these two images. The second image will go from 0 alpha to 100 alpha.
trying to do a blinds transition with multiple images, and so far the only thing i have been able to do is to give the transition to one image, after that the movie just stops.What i want to do is to start with one image, keep it there for 1 sec, then the blinds transition to image 2 and then back to image 1 and loop the entire movie.What i got is this:
I'm developing an ActionScript 3.0 app for Blackberry Playbook. I have twelve images loaded with a Loader class. I use Event.ENTER_FRAME to fade in and fade out images using this event handler:
I have the following problem: If user clicks on another image before the previous image hasn't reached to alpha = 1.0 it lefts that image with an alpha less than 1.0. In other words, I have to make something to left onEnterFrame function set alpha to 1.0. I have tried with stage.hasEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME) but it doesn't work.
I've been asked to incorporate a slideshow into a website that I'm working on, which is fine, except they have seen a particular tranition effect that is used between images, this can be seen on these two sites...[URL]. Its kind of a bleach effect? Which I presume is achieved using some sort of tween engine like Tweenmax or the Fusekit? The Honda site also has a nice second transition effect which is pretty cool, where dots kind of fall away? Has this just been done on the timeline?
Just starting out with the MovieClipLoader class and have gotten what I wanted with an image being loaded - a 'blinds' transition - click on the clip to view the next image - also a 'blinds' transit. But these two are using one MCL obj. and I've sort of run out of ways to then click on the second image to load a third...thus, need to do some re-writing for a new function? How can I keep clicking a clip to transition to the next - and where could I place a second or third MCL obj. w/out conflicting with the first?
I'm making a portfolio website, and I have everything set up and working nicely, with the exception of the background images.I've got 5 different links, each one told to load it's own background image when clicked via a UILoader from the main index file. The problem I'm having is in-between the transitioning of the old and new image, the old image completely disappears while the new one is loading and fades in. Basically, the background image disappears and I'm left with a white screen while the other image is loading and before it shows. What I want it to do it for the old image to remain on the screen and then the new image to fade in on top of it.[code]
I am a complete newbie at flash(it took me 10 minutes just to figure out where to put actionscript code lol). Anyway I'm trying to make a flash where you can cycle through images using a slider bar. They are images of a persons face from 13 angles starting from looking 90 degress left, to center, to 90 degrees right. I want to be able to rotate the face using the slider. What I'm trying to do is similar to another thread I was reading(though not exactly the same goal) so I took the code from there just to start myself off. Currently when I test the movie the face is moving back and forth(in loop play) and the slider bar does not interact with the images/frames at all. This is the code I have in Layer 1 Frame 1. I'm aware this code might be completely wrong for what I want to do since I pulled it from someone elses project.
how would one go about replicating it or something similar. I like the way the images transition between each other and the hover over zoom effect. [URL] Is there any tutorial on how to achieve something like this or close to it?
I am trying to do the background images for a website, but I want them transitioning. So what I done is import each image onto its own layer (four images in total), and I turned them all into a movieclip. I am then trying to add some code to make them transition between each other. I am attempting something like
var myTM:TransitionManager = new TransitionManager(my_mc); var myTM1:TransitionManager = new TransitionManager(my_mc1); var myTM2:TransitionManager = new TransitionManager(my_mc1); myTM.startTransition({type:Fly, direction:Transition.IN, duration: 3, easing:Back.easeOut}) myTM.addEventListener("allTransitionsInDone", doneTrans); function doneTrans(e:Event):void{ [Code] .....
Is there a more logical way to do this? Each image is a movie clip and I basically want them like a background slideshow?
