I have no idea what I did. I think I pushed a diffrent button while pushing ctrl-Z, but now my timeline or the layer in the timeline is covering my keyframes and it won't let me uncover them..I've tried moving the cursor over to the side and draging it back but it dosen't work.

I have a few problems with Adobe Flash. Please refer to this image: [URL]. First, I would like to make a movieclip begin somewhere else (so that I may jump to it later). But when I preview what I currently have in my timeline, my movie clip just flashes on and off with Layer 1 (the image on Layer 1 flashes too), rather than what should be a delay of nothing (but Layer 1 flashing) until frame 20 is reached, at which point the movie clip on Layer 3 should play. Secondly, I do not wish for the movie clip to stop at the end of the second keyframe (even though it's currently not really even playing). How can I have it play all the way out?
View 2 RepliesI'm trying out FlashCS5 in an iMac running Snow Leopard. I'm putting in the timeline an mp3 sound I imported to the library. When I test the movie I get this message: When I test the swf, I get no animation and no sound. I tried changing the settings in the Advanced AS3 Settings to Default Linkage to from "Runtime Shared Libraries" to "Merged int code". The message goes away but the test still fails.
View 3 RepliesI am trying to embedded an flv into a flash movie timeline that runs at 12fps.My source avi is 60 seconds in duration. However using cs3 video encoder with the frame rate set to 12 fps results in an flv that uses up 1440 frames of my timeline.In fact any frame rate selected always results in an flv of this frame length? Assuming that I need the flv to be 720 frames total (60 seconds * 12 frames), and not twice that duration as that would still have to be played at 24 fps. I undertand that there is a relationship to the original fps the movie was shot in (in this case 24fps) but will/does the encoder not produce an flv with the frame rate altered to match my timeline fps? or do you basically have to use a camera that shoots the original avi at 12fpsto get it to play in 12 fps timeline??

View 3 RepliesI have a pretty long timeline animation to be edited; in CS4 editing the file was no problem, you could scroll through the frames without problems, using CS5 and trying to do the same the app freezes for several seconds and then reacts and performs the last click you did - honestly I can definitely no edit the animation with CS5.Is there any sort of option which may cause this strange/slow behavior?
View 4 RepliesI am looking to explode an image backwards. Example, I have an image and at frame 1, Alpha is zero. At frame 20, the image is at Alpha 100%. From frame zero to 20, I want to have an exploded view come together by the time it reaches frame 20. I am reading this on web, and I don't have the 'Insert - timeline effects - explode' on my file menu. Is this a plugin that I have to install? This is the site I am reading. [URL]
View 4 RepliesI want to make an animation over live action footage, I've looked on the guides and the ones which explain what I need to do are for previous versions of Flash and don't work on CS5.I'm wondering how I can import a video in to Adobe Flash CS5, so that it plays in the timeline frame by frame? I dont mean putting it on one frame so it will play, but so i can edit objects over the top of the flash in each single frame.

View 4 RepliesI have researched the subject for some time now and still haven't figure it out.I use midas3 library (Midi-actionscript3) to import midi to flash. I get each note-item on a timeline. I get the divisions value (192) and all of the "GET-TEMPO" elements are equal to 81.I tried a lot of combinations to get the actual time of the midi but still no good (timeline*192/60 for example).The reason I know it is not synchronized to the actual time is that when I visualize the notes as simple rectangles in flash - I check if they appear exactly to what the mp3 file plays (I have converted the midi file to this mp3 using simple conversion program)I have read a lot about how all is calculated but still haven't figure out the number I need to use to get it right (timeline * MysteriusConstant = ReaTIME, what is the value of MysteriusConstant? is it really constant? and if not how do I calculate how it is changed?)

Just got started with Flash again after several years of not using it. I am familiar with the layout when I set it to "classic" but for some reason I can see the timeline area, but it is grey and I cannot create any frames or click anything in that area.

So if I was on the "about" page, the "about" link in the navigation would be highlighted red, for example.I'm trying to do the same thing with a button in Flash. When a user clicks the button ("on(release)"), it will take them to another frame in the timeline, and, the look of the button will change to let the user know they are currently on that frame. I thought I could do this by adding a keyframe at the destination frame, then going into the button and changing the "up" frame. Sadly, that doesn't work, as it changes the "up" frame for the button everywhere.

Does anyone know how to scale everything on the timeline without changing the framerate?Also, how can i scale the size (transform) an object that already has a motion tween applied to it? I want to scale it on each frame in the animation, not just the first. I've tried, and it changes the animation where i scale it on the timeline.

I had a long discussion with my tutor (who is the greatest tutor in the world) and he wanted to think about it. I said to him that I thought that one motion tween was wrong because you can click on an object in the timeline, make it a motion tween, and double click it and make several motion tweens. So, essentially, you can have more than one motion tween on a timeline.

View 4 RepliesI am building a somewhat sophisticated slide menu. I have input a wait(); command using setInterval in the first frame of my actions panel. My wait() function works perfectly.I have also set a few variables to start out being false. Once a particular button is clicked, it sets the variable to true and sends the playhead to a particular spot within the movie. Actionscript then performs a command to that says if that variable has been set to "true" gotoAndPlay "this", otherwise gotoAndPlay "this-instead".
The problem I am having is that when I click on one of the buttons, it is somehow setting all the variables to true and sending the playhead to places I don't want it to go.Here is the code I have placed in my first frame:
button1 == false; button2 == false; button3 == false; button4 == false;

For some reason, regardless of which button is actually pressed, (cube2, cube3, or cube4, all of the variables are set to "true" and the playhead goes to whichever frame it wants to at that point.
so I have a school assignment to make a banner, but I need to add a movieclip to it since its just keyframed text now basically.I have made my movieclip, its a countdown timer from 26seconds to 0, it works fine to play it etc.But when I try to drag my movieclip from the library into the timeline, it just gives me and error sign on the mousecursor. If I drag it into the workingspace scene where the rest of my things are it will show up but it wont start the keyframed countdown.
View 1 RepliesI apologize if this questions has already been asked and answered. I tried searching through the Flash forum and was unable to find the answer I was looking for. I am very new to Flash and apologize for the simplicity of the question, but I am having trouble moving the playhead along the timeline in Flash. For example, when I open up a new Flash project, and start out with the initial layer with it's single frame, I am having trouble moving the playhead forward to frame i.g. "75" or "80". My questions is, can I not move the playhead because I do not have content past frame one or can I not move the playhead because I have accidentally initiated a button or action that will only allow me to scrub my playhead through frames with content. On the off chance I had done this, I tried restarting Flash with the default settings with no success. Again, I realize this may be a very simple question and I am hoping the answer will be the same.
