When i create a new animation, with button (play, pause, replay...), the resolution of hover button is decrease when i export in swf. How can i keep an high resolution or this button ?

So I've been surfing the net trying to find a way to get a 100% resolution from Flash to Gif and can't find it.Here is the deal, I've got Adobe CS5 and I started doing animation in photoshop. It took forever but once I got it done it looked awesome and I could easily transfer it into a gif via 'save for web and devices".Because it was taking forever I decided to learn flash and after a day I got the basics pretty much figured out and made my first .swf file. I then went to turn it into a Gif and the resolution sucked and the timing was off.

Is possible to create the .fla file with image in 300 dpi (so I can print from original .swf files with images in high resolution) and ask to flash to reduce the images resolution in automatic only in the final publication?

View 6 RepliesMy company sent me a video that they wanted us to post on the intranet. It's a simple powerpoint video with a narrator talking about some policy and benefit changes, etc.
I tried the exporting the video in both 720(width) and 1280 format, and found that when shown in fullscreen mode, the 1280 format was much easier to read than the 720, however, we didn't want to show it on the intranet page at full 1280 by default. So I modified the html and javascript that plays the movie so that it would show in 720 width on the page. The problem with resizing the 1280 video into a 720 space is that the video player bar (where the play, stop, volume controls are) becomes extremely small when I do this. Of course, this is because Flash generated the player with a toolbar optimized for 1280, so it's getting scaled down when I pack it into a smaller playing area.
Is there an solution to this that I haven't thought of? How can I generate this movie to get the better full screen appearance of the 1280 video, but also still show the video in a smaller 720 area when the user is not in full screen mode?
Is there a flash component player for the web that can play resolutions like youtube has be the user selecting a dropdown. If not, is there a tutorial that you know of that will show me how? I'm not a programmer, just a designer. I just upgraded to CS5 premium - love it so far.
View 2 Repliesok lets say you create a button that when held down play an animation of 20 frames if realsed it goes to frame one and stops if held down it plays out this animation. for the topic lets say you have a fire animation and you want the fire to apear and if the user hold its down the animation reaches the end of the time line and loops back and plays the last 5 frames of the animation and as soon as it is let go it goes to and stops at frame one. Well i know how to make a button that when held down plays out an animation. And i know how to say when released goes to and stops at frame one. What i dont know how to do is to loop the fire at the last 5 or 6 frames so the user can hold it down all day long and play out that animation.
View 1 RepliesI seem to be getting a very low FPS when I set the Resolution to "High" instead of "Standard". Even when I'm rendering the most minimalistic shapes (A small moving box going left to right). When I render the same project on my iPhone with the Resolution set to "Standard" I notice a very significant FPS increase. However, everything else looks terrible (trying to optimize for the Retina display). Is this just a simple Flash limitation? Or is it the actual iPhone 4 itself? I've played several games with the iPhone 4, at Retina Display graphics as well, and they all seem to be very fluid. So based on my judgement, it's a Flash limitation. I am unsure though.

View 3 RepliesSo I recently switchs to a new computer. Installed flash and got everything up and running. On the old computer, I was forced to set the jvm.ini to use -Xmx512M in order to run the application (it's kinda big) But now, if I set it 512, flash will not open... I get the Java enviroment error.
Now, I lower the xmx value more and more and more until flash FINALLY opens without an error... I load up my application and when I try to run it, I get the java memory heap error and it tells me to adjust the jvm.ini file. Anyone know how I can get flash cs5.5 on a windows 7 64bit machine with 8 gigs of ram to open with a larger jvm.ini value?
can someone write a script for a button that sets the quality for Low, medium high. (as in scripts for 3 buttons. each buttons sets a different quality) the experiences that i have made with people in these forums have only been good ones.

View 13 RepliesI have published my Flash site to the web server but I notice that it doesn't display correctly in smaller resolutions (I think the smallest it looks best in is 1024 x 768)... the bottom keeps getting cut off when viewed in any small resolution. I figure this is something that can be corrected in the HTML file so if someone can show me what exactly I need to put into that file, that would be great. Clearly, this bit of code will only work for my computer's resolution: 1440x900. I've tested it on other machines and if they, too, have 8:5 ratio like mine, they look pretty good. Not so much on a say, 4:3 ratio display. I know I need to get the aspect ratio and then place my minimize btn's y coordinate.
One thing I'm not clear on: why I set my button to x=0; and it will sit flush left, but won't place my button in the right spot with:

i was wondering how others have designed applications, such as photo galleries, that automatically adjust to the resolution of the screen on which it's being viewed, as opposed to adding or removing scroll bars to view just a standard, presized bg image, as in HTML.

I have developed an app for the iPhone and it runs perfectly fine on the iOS for iPhone. I am trying to port it to the iPad so I have done the proper stage adjustments and have set export as "iPhone & iPad"
It opens up fine on my iPad, but the same app opens distorted on my iPhone (since the stage resolution isn't native, so it gets squished)
Flash Player 10.2.153.1and Flash Player 10.2.159.1 are crashing my standalone application. Later with version 10.1 the application run ok, never crashes but was taking more than 90% CPU. The new Flash Player solve the problem of resources, and drop down CPU to 30%, but the application crashes always after a while, unespectly, or if I open the window of other application.
In the other hand when I disable the harware acceleration at the swf settings, the application goes crazy and start to make rapid flashes, and frame rate goes down to 8. [URL]. Right click on the Flash logo, Settings,then UNcheck the hardware acceleration in Display Settings.)
I'm on a Mac Mini Core 2 Duo with Mac OS X 10.6.7 (the last Snow Leopard these days). The graphical card is Nvidia GeForce 9400M.
I did test the application at a Mac Book Pro core i5, Mac OS X 10.6.7, graphica card Nvidia GeForce GT 330M and the application is more stable but finally crashes too.
Finally if I export my application with GPU Hardware acceleration at Publish Settings, my application crashes almost inmediatly after I open it in each of the computers.
My guess is that the new Flash Version is using my graphical proccesor in a corrupted way.
Video Displaying full screen I imported a video, which i have generated using the Adobe Media Encoder (size of the video 1080x450px). I am creating a 3 page slide show for an HD TV with a native resolution of 1920x1080px.
I have a new Flash file with that very stage (stage of my file is 1920x1080px). I placed a logo and then the video, positioned these two elements on the stage the way i wanted them and am trying to output them.
Issue: When i run the SWF file (which includes the video and the logo at a stage size of 1920x1080), the video takes up the whole screen with black lines above and below it. It almost feels as it is replicating a widescreen.

I have a project that's 1024x768. However, on screens with a resolution of 1024x768, the users still have to scroll (the project is too big to fit in the browser window). Is there a way to allow scaling of the project only if it's too big for the user's window? I don't want the project to always scale to fit the window size. I only want to scale it down if it's too large to fit on screen without scrollbars.

To be specific the program is a game called 'Realm of the mad god' originally a browser game but is now also a free to play steam title, Having browsed through the config files I couldnt find anything talking about resolution and I was wondering if there are any advanced flash features that allow the user to force the application to run a specific resolution.
PS: I don't have the highest hopes but I thought if anybody knew it would be someone from the flash community.
im trying to do is have a button that shows an animation (created by a duplicateMovieClip function) with onRollOver and stops the animation with onRollOut. It works when i roll over and it stops when i roll out, but then it continues in a loop up to the point where i rolled out (instead of cutting off completely as i would like). Id be extremely grateful if you could tell me where im going wrong.
