I'm using Adobe Flash CS5, ActionScript 3.0. I've created a simple file with a few animations. When I press enter, the movie animates perfectly on the stage. But when I press Ctrl+Enter to view it in test mode (and when I export to SWF), one of the five layers just doesn't appear. It's as if I never created the layer! What could be causing this issue[URL]
View 4 RepliesI am trying to build a fireplace in flash where the mantles, surround type and face plates are changable when a value from a drop down menu is selected.I put each of the objects(mantles, surround types and face plates) in a seperate layer and am making them visible/invisible by controlling the alpha property of each of the objects. It worked fine till i had about 30 layers/images on the flash file, but as i try to add new layers/ images the new layer sort of covers the first layer making it invisible.

Is there a way to merge these two since I'm planning on shrinking it down and making a lot of birds?He merged the two layers at 14:24 of the video without even explaining how he went to this so called "Edit Master Movie Clip" that seems non-existent on Adobe Flash CS4.
View 1 RepliesI want to create a simple mask. A white oval on a second layer on top of a bottom layer that just has a word of type. I want the oval to travel from the upper left down to cover up the type. When I create the second layer, create the oval, and choose a distant frame for the "end" of the oval's positioning, my type in the first layer disappears as soon as I press F6 on that second layer. Why? Why is it nuking my first layer?

View 1 RepliesI basically need to scale an object up when the user rollsover the button which I have created dynamically already and I need to make sure the object is fully scaled up before I can allow the user to scale it back down again.Ive tried putting 2 tweens (x and yscale) into a function but not sure how to check if the tweens have finished. Im assuming if I check the function is complete it wont take into consideration the tweens may still be running.

View 6 RepliesI've made a flash image with the gif extention with Adobe Flash CS4 Pro. I have set the WMODE to tranparent and i've set the Transparency at the giv tab to transparent to. But now comes the difficult part. Each time when I export the image the background is still white.
What did I do wrong? and how can I fix it?
I just upgraded from Flash CS3 to CS5 and when I draw something and try to convert it to a movie clip, duplicate it, etc. the entire drawing's outline just disappears.

I want to automate the testing of various UI navigation/features - so that for each build/release , I can quickly validate the integrity of UI with these tests. I do not want to do the unit testing of action script APIs , instead I want to simulate the user events and assert the response against the known good results. I tried with Selenium, [URL] but if fails to record/recongnize the events fired in the flash component. Is there any tool (preferable Java based) available?
View 1 RepliesI've followed several instructions on how to develop a simple iOS app. I've managed to go all the way through and Publish + create the .ipa. I'm able to then add the file to my iTunes library, but when I then try to add it to my iPod Touch (2nd Generation) I get the following error:
The app "XXXXXX" was not installed on the iPod "XXXXX's Ipod" because it is not compatible with this iPod.I've even tried it with a simple "Hello World!" app but I get the same error.I'm using Flash Pro Cs5.5 on a Windows PC.

View 3 RepliesI just upgraded to Flash 5.5. When I compile for iOS my cursor disappears. I'm using the following code. It worked great when I compiled it on 5.0 but it stopped working with 5.5

View 9 RepliesI recently updated text in a page. Now, when I test the movie, random characters within the modified text are missing. Is this a bug or am I overlooking something? I am using Adobe Flash CS3 on Windows XP.
View 4 RepliesWhile testing the movie within Flash,the Test Movie window randomly goes blank, showing the stage color. The movie is still running, there's no error, it's just blank. When I resize the Test Movie window,everything reappears... Until a few seconds later, when it snaps back to blank... so I resize, it reappears, it disappears, I resize, it reappears, it disappears... over and over.Resizing even just one pixel is enough to get it to come back. Sometimes it happens every few seconds.
This might be related to another issue: If I Test Movie with the Bandwidth Profiler on, Flash CS4 doesn't resize the window correctly to fit my entire movie in it, resulting in a big blank space underneath the Bandwidth Profiler, and that same amount of space being cutoff the bottom of my movie. I haven't seen anything like this in 10yrs of Flash development. This is a Mac Pro, 8-core. The graphics card is ATI Radeon HD XT 2600. 6GB RAM. 10.5.3-10.5.7
The same FLA works without any issues on CS4/XP. The FLA saved to CS3 works without any issues on CS3/OSX and CS3/XP (same machine).I have all but given up on CS4 for OSX. Between the crappy framerates, the crashing, and not being able to TEST MOVIE, I just avoid CS4 on OSX and use CS3 on OSX or CS4 on XP.

Looking for some recommendations on tools that can be used independent of the source (that is just on the swf) to check for Frames Per Second, total size and how often the movie loops.
Needed for Flash Banner ad quality assurance.
Flash CS4 frequently crashes after trying to test my movie. I have a MacBook Pro OS 10.5.8. I have updated Flash CS4 as well. Here are the problem details in the crash report.

when a video is playing..and i click a button to play to a different label in the main time line..the video component disappears but the audio keeps playing.. all so the volume component, the slider indicator stays stuck to the stage.. what AS3 is needed..to stop the audio and fix the indicator..

I am staggering it 14 times throughout scene one, with varying times.My problem is that it plays once then disappears (I added actionscript on the last frame in the symbol movie clip). I would like it to play then keep the last frame displayed in scene one until a specific keyframe (60). Not have the movie clip instance loop, rather show the image that is on its last frame.

It looks good in the FLA file but when I convert to SWF, the text box simply disappears. Other components of my animation remain as I have designed them.

View 5 RepliesI'm using Flash CS5 proefessional and trying to do a demonstration. The demonstrationincludes a rope-like lanyard that is quite long and needs to bend at many many points. After successfully applying the bone tool to the object, I tried moving it with Free Transform.However, when I do so, the lanyard suddenly disappears, besides a couple tiny pieces. I didn't delete the previous layer, and I had unioned everything before breaking it apart again to apply the Bone tool.

I created a motion tween for the first image (on it's own layer), but when I try to run it, all the other images and background dissappears. The tween works, but the rest is invisible, just turns white.
View 5 RepliesI've got a dynamic text field that has embedded fonts. When I copy it from one file to another, the pasted text field loses it's embedded checkmarks. I have to open up the embed menu and reselect the appropriate embed keys.
The problem is that this text field is inside a component that many of my coworkers use several times / day in many assets. We just jumped to CS5.5 from 4 and text is now disappearing. I've tracked it down to this issue, but don't know how to resolve it. There's NO reason this dynamic text field should be losing it's embedded..
I'm using Flash CS5 and Actionscript 2. I'm created a multi page training document with some pages containing videos. I have a set of XML program generated videos that work great until I use removeMovieClip(); when exiting the page. I use this to kill the video before I get the the next page.When I come back to the page the code I have regenerates the list. But when I play the videos I only get sound and no video. Sometimes the video black window appears and then immediately disappears or nothing appears but the sound starts playing.

My Text is visible before rotating it to verticle position using Free Transform Tool. But when once it is rotated to verticle position the text disappears from the Stage. And it is not an animated Text as well?
