I'm not so advanced that I understand all of the jargin in how to replace pictures within already written code. I want to make the Tsunami style and was hoping that any of you might know a source with code already written and all I have to do is change the pictures and convert it into an SWF file. I'm still not that comfortable with Flash Action scripts so I'm looking for something that is relatively self explanitory.

I imported them into my animated menu and I don't see a link option for the jpeg texted I exported out of photoshop. It links fine if I type the text in flash but the pictures I need to link.

View 0 RepliesI do a lot of work with GWT but don't have experience of Flex. I was talking to a guy today who was looking at moving some large Flex based applications to GWT due to the Flex application getting too big and using too much memory in the browser. This is a problem I have had before with GWT - browser apps using lots of memory as all the code gets loaded when it starts.
However, in GWT 2.0 there is now a code splitting feature to overcome the problem of the client code getting too big. This allows all the code (javascript) not to be loaded as one big file on start up but instead code split into different files that can be loaded when required.
I was thinking as to if there is anything similar in Flex. I assume the Flex application code all lives in one single SWF file which loads at start-up so this approach is not possible but thought there might be other solutions.
I posted on Kirupa Yesterday trying to get help with a project. I've had no response because the help I need is admittedly a pain in the behind. I'm at the end of my thether here so I thought I try posting here also. I'm in the process of trying to make an "infinite scrolling tsunami accordian". Sounds sweet right.
Its supposed to grow as items are moused over along with accordion functionality. also it is supposed to wrap around the items. Ive gotten very close but I have some problems that I've hit a wall on. I've never seen a 3 in one menu like this and it'd be really cool to get it going.
So far I have the tsunami effect and the wrapping around. The only problem is that when you click on an item, instead of the items below it animating to the bottom bound of the menu and then appearing at the top when they go too far theres a big *** pause and then they just jump to wrap around position.
The accordion aspect is there too but I can't figure out how to handle the spacing when an item is expanded. I've attached a zip file containing the project in the hope that somebody might have the time to try and me flesh this out . The class in question is named infiniteTsunamiAccord.

View 2 RepliesI've got a project that currently uses classic dynamic text fields that pull in information from an XML file. The text contains a 'keyword' that's referenced in the XML, that can be situated anywhere in the complete sentence. This keyword needs to be a different colour and font size... but as I said, it can appear anywhere.
Currently this works by getting the keyword from the XML, finding its length, finding the index of where it starts, splicing the main string, and then setting TextFormat to the number of chars in keyword, which changes the font size and colour for just that keyword in the sentence.
This works great for the classic dynamic text boxes. It doesn't however work with TLF text, it just applies the new format to the entire text field. I don't have any experience with TLF text as I've just upgraded to CS5 and now need to make this work in Hebrew.The code snippet for the keyword colour change looks like this:Where screen01Norm & screen01Key are things pulled from XML & screen_01.txt_box_combined is the text field.

But rather than change slides, I have one large "graphic" that I am moving around and zooming into by "motion tweening" Now all I need to do is: (with a keyboard event) start the motion tween and then let it play out then start the next motion tween and let it play out and so on. all i have is this, which allows me to start and stop it when it is tweening, but isn't as effective as it stopping at then end of a motion tween, then allowing me to push a key and for it to go to the next "slide"

I'm sure that I'm going to absolutely love it once it all sinks in, but at the moment, there are a few things that strike me as odd and I'm looking for guidance... Something I noticed last night that was different in terms of workflow was animating consecutive objects. Imagine the following simple storyboard: - a photo appears on the screen and gradually grows in size while fading out - after that photo has completely faded out, a new photo appears on the screen and grows in size while fading out.
Now, "old skool" I would have economized my timeline real-estate by having both of these images on the same layer. Since they are not visible at the same time, you can clear (delete) the first image and drop in the second image and everything is peachy. I found that this was not the case in CS4. I am in a real distress - trying to make a menu looking like the one shown here:[URL]..That is a sort of "tsunami" if I get it right... On mousover, the elements nearest to the mouse grow - the nearer they are, the more they grow - like in the many examples of tsunami that you can find on the web.The problem I have is that as they grow, the elements should also push one another sideways, so that the menu sort of "walks" or "slides" sideways. Which is exactly what I cannot achieve.

I have a Mac (intel) CS3 flash fla that I am exporting asprojector. The exported Mac projector and windows exe file will notopen full screen w/o the flashplayer's top toolbar. I have testedthe projector file on Mac 10.4 and Windows XP and all show theflashplayer's top tool bar. The only way to go full screen is tomanually select view/full screen in the player toolbar. I havetried the fscommand("fullscreen", "true"); toggle (true/false/true)workaround w/o any success. Any other workarounds I can try
View 4 RepliesI'm trying to create a Macintosh full screen projector. Easy, I know.WHY the hell doesn't it go full screen... I keep getting the title bar at the top of the projector.
Windows projector works perfectly.Some software called Zinc will provide me with the solution to this problem but it's expensive and the free version adds a watermark to the file, which is not good.

View 1 RepliesI am putting together a presentation for some in flash and will be exporting as an .exe file so they can play it fullscreen on there laptop. Its all working fine apart from one slide where I have included a video (FLV) which is loaded externally. Where I have the .exe in full screen mode the video automatically jumps to full screen mode and I cant see any of the the other images/text surrounding it. How do I go about not letting the video scaling to fullscreen and the rest staying as is?

I have got it worling fine - insert media - flv - progressive download - etc. When I view the file in the testing server it does not have the option to "view in full screen" which I need as I want to keep the preview windows small and have several videos on the one page. Is there code I need to enter in addition to that generated by Dreamweaver? I'm not familiar with Flash Pro or Media Encoder but I do have access to them if t makes the whole process easier.
