while I use litterally any tool, oval, pencil, paint brush, anything - a blue square apears around the object. in a simple click on the blank it disapears- thouhgh it drtives me nutts. are any of you familiar with that? I assume I messed around with the settings for it to happen.
View 3 RepliesI maybe missing the point or simply not ticking a tick box, I've created a web banner for one of my publications that I work on (please find at the following address [URL].. As you can see I have some aircraft flying away from the tree at the bottom, what I would like to happen that they dissappear when they pass the keyline. I had thought that if I continued the animation onto the pasteboard that when it came to publishing, flash would ignore items this grey area and would act as a trim, am I correct in thinking this? How would I go about correct this so that only the animation within the set parameters appear?
Also is there a way of setting the scale of a flash banner? I have a feeling that this is so simple, but just can't find the panel to set it all.
I want to put a movieclip with tools at the bottom of the window in the center with tools icons, it should have fixed posiiton so that user can scroll the main window having it always on prompt. I think I need the browser window size properties to do somenthing as this. Is there a way to get them?

View 1 RepliesI am currently having the unfortunate experience of learning Flash Pro as part of my degree program at school. I have been having a problem with the program crashing repeatedly. I have CS4 Web Premium, an educational discount edition, and am using it on an HP pc with an AMD Athlon and Nvidia v-card. I have had problems with it crashing on this computer when using tools such as the deco-tool and sometimes when transforming something. The real problem is when I try to use one of the Dell pc's at school to work on a file I have created at home on the HP. On 4 different machines at school Flash will crash when working on one of these files, especially when scrubbing the playhead on the timeline. The program will crash over and over, to the point where I can't really work on these files at school, which is a huge waste of time.

View 3 RepliesI am just learning to use Flash CS5 Professional (aided by the "Flash Basics" tutorials of Lynda.com). I am presently trying to manipulate symbols as motion-tweens with the 3-D rotation tool found in the Flash toolbar. At the moment I'm trying to take a single word originally created as text, now a symbol, and animate it with motion-tweens so that it appears to be twirling on its x axis or y axis as though it's tumbling through the air like a coin.My trouble is that I can successfully get the symbol to motion-tween itself through one half of a single rotation. But nothing I try seems to work to have the symbol complete its rotation all the way around without the symbol wanting to suddenly flip and rotate in the other direction to complete the full 360 degree rotation. Every trick I use, the symbol wants to tween back the way it came to finish its rotation. This is happening whether I try to rotate type as a symbol, or whether I use other objects (rectangles, ovals, etc.) I've created and then converted to symbols and then movie clips (which I have done in all cases). No matter what I try, this program is not cooperating. What am I doing wrong. My Flash CS5 often behaves as if it's buggy (I'm running it on a brand new state of the art iMac, with the latest version of Snow Leopard as my OS). But even with all it's other little bugs, restarting Flash doesn't seem to clear up this mystery.

I have this game, and some levels have a moving square as the player, you move the square with your arrow keys.... I want to have an enemy square that chases the player square.... They only chased mario when you didn't look at them? Kinda like that...... but in this regards:
I only want the enemy square to chase the player square when the player square moves.... soo say the player square moves 5 pixels per movement (know how to do all that), I want the enemy square to move when the player square moves..... towards the player square at like 7 pixels per movement..... so eventually you won't be able to avoid the enemy square....

It seens perfct but I can't see it work. The funny thing is that the custom currentBubble - with a dot after you see the code hints but a dot after pb100 - you see no code hints. Well not normal.
if I set the stage to be 800 px X 800 px, it does not appear square, neither does holding shift + drawing a rectangle. However, drawing an oval and holding shift seems to create a circle(though it could be I can't notice it because it's too small). Is there some way to make these appear square?

View 1 RepliesI recently purchased a new Acer notebook computer for my business travel in late March 2011. The machine is running Windows 7 64bit OS and had IE8 64bit installed. I installed IE9 upon receipt of an update notice from Microsoft and downloaded Adobe Flash Player 'Square'. I am unable to view any internet video on news websites (ie: CNN, Fox, MSNBC, etc). The screen is completely blank, but does contain the audio. I do receive video for any 'You Tube' file I have attempted. I have removed and reinstalled both IE9 and Flash 'Square' multiple times after attempting various 'fix' I have found on line, but the problem persists and I cannot view video content. This is forcing me to use 'Chrome' when using this machine.

View 4 RepliesI created a site for a client and they are experiencing something weird with the top links in the base SWF. The links appear to be distorted or doubling up. I don't have anything extra in the MC. And what's worse is that I can't see this effect on any of the computers I have. They see it on their laptop.

I have built a website in FLASH CS4 (version 10). The website runs perfectly on my MAC core 8 but when I view it on either of my laptops (both are also Macs couple months old) the main title of the site + the on/off for the music appears in a completely different font and one word of the title disappears.I have tried turning the title to a button and to a movie and kept it as text and nothing makes a difference..
View 4 RepliesThe site opens with a SWF file. This is my first attempt at Flash. He did not have the fla file so i used a decompiler to generate it and we were able to make most of the changes he wanted. We have one thing left and I am scratching my head trying to figure this out. There are 7 buttons, and when you place your mouse over each button an image appears in the top right of the screen. This image is different depending on what button you are over. He wants to update and change a couple of these images.

View 1 RepliesI'm using windows Vista 64 bit (work machine, not personal) with Adobe CS5 production premium. I have this training I created in flash and it used to export just fine.I was able to test and everything, but lately, it stopped doing that. I hit CTRL+enter, and it won't give me a SWF file. I hit debug it says it can't find the swf. I looked in the folder where everything is for the training, and sure enough, there is no SWF file there. I tried hitting CTRL + enter and watching the folder. The SWF file appears while the export progress bar is going, but the second the bar is done, the file vanishes. For a while, if I went into File and hit Export Movie, it worked, but even that's stopped working.
