Actionscript 3 :: Change Password Character In FLEX?
Jan 3, 2012
It just take a long time to change the Password character currently if i am enabling the displayAsPassword property of TextInput it gives '*' as a password character and I want to change that to '#' so is there any possible way?
I was just curious about the password mode display of the TextInput control in flex. The control displays asterisks instead of the characters themselves when the 'displayAsPassword' is set to true. Quoting the documentation,displayAsPassword If true, the field does not display entered text, instead, each text character entered into the control appears as the character "*".So, is there any way to change this displayed character, unless of course creating a custom component or extending the existing TextInput control?
Is it possible to change the width of an insert TAB character in a Flex TextArea?I'm capturing FocusEvent.KEY_FOCUS_CHANGE events and manually inserting a " " into a text area styled with an embedded monospace font. By default, the TABs are being displayed two and a half monospace characters wide... I need them to display five monospace characters wide
I have a text box which I want to display a certain text on it when it loads, say, "demotext", for example. However, I want it to clear that text when the user clicks on it and then only displays stars when they type (as if it has turned into a password box when they clicked on it). So far I only have this:
Im new at actionscript, and I am making a very project. Basicly, I have some thing were there is a page you can get to by beating other parts of the 'game'. I want to add some sort of a password or save feature to people can type in the password of something at the opening screen and jump to that page.
What is the opposite of String.charAt()??If I Have a string:var Str:String="Hello World";How do I change the 5th character, for example, from a ' ' to an '_'?I can GET the 5th character like this:var C:String=Str.charAt(5);But how do I SET the 5th character?
I have a build server that generates our signed packages for deployment. However, I would prefer not to embed our passwords for signing the package in our ant file. Is there a way to get around this? It would be nice if I could setup something like how password-less ssh works or even use the keychain.<rant>Why do Adobe products seem so unfriendly in terms of working in a team environment or when it comes to trying to automate them as part of a tool chain/regression suite?! Don't get me started on the Adobe updater either.</rant>
i have a problem while username and password validation.i retrieved data (username and password)from an xml doc using http service but the problem is that i have to verify the username and password entered by he user with the username and password of the xml doc...
I am sending password text to the http service request object.like pass.text now this password i am giving in navigate url also.but password is visibleing when load url and it is hacking.how can i encrypt password string and send it to jsp?
What's the best way to save user credentials in flex? Local storage doesn't seem like good place for storing confidential data, because it saves information as a plain text.
Maybe that's more of a Linux question than an Adobe Air one, but there you go: I have an AIR 2 app that does auto-update in the background, with no need for user interaction. It uses Air's own ApplicationUpdater framework (the one that doesn't require a UI) - all goes well until the package gets downloaded and needs to be installed - at that point, the Air Installer prompts for SUDO password and won't proceed without some user interaction.
I have a 9 frames image of a character.In other language generally i used to make character animation by looping the array consisting of different frames and drawing each frame when pressing key.What i want to do is when i press left or right key, i want to draw each frame that makes character movement and update x coordinates of frames, and it will appear as character is moving.
i was wondering if any of you out there could tell me how it is possible to make a movieclip of a character and when the character is dragged about the screen by the curser, how do you make the characters arms and legs swing about in a realistic fashion.
Recently made the transition from flash/as2 to flex/as3 have to say I'm loving it! Thought i'd experiment a bit and test the water making a simple live chat application already run into my first snag.
Code: private function keyPressed(e:KeyboardEvent):void { switch(e.keyCode) {
[Code]....
This is the main offender. I'm just wondering how I would find the last character and ignore everything else after that? Kind of similar to the php explode.
I want to create a board class from canvas, which will allow to track click position on it in coordinates like A2, where A...D is Y coordinate in some scale and 1...3 is X coordinate [URL]What I want to create is a kind of convertor from canvas localX and localY to my new coordinates like A2.I am thinking of implementing if condition this way if (0.4 - x*size(from 1-3 here)/canvas.width <= X <= 0.4 + x*size(from 1-3 here)/canvas.width) X = x;
This way I can assigned needed coordinates in X range. e.g. 1, 2 ,3 etc But what to do with alphanumeric range. (if for example I want to make it extensible)...
I'm using an auto complete component and a labelFunction so that user have the ability to search by their name or id. Once the search is completed I'd like to extract the data to a query.
The only problem is that I only need the name or id for the query not both, so I'd like to pull from just the id variable...
Currently if the user types - Joe or if they type - 13
Both would return a result of Joe - 13 via the auto complete component.
I'm using a dash - To separate the results visually. So I'd like to know if theres a way to extract text from a text field up to a certain character in this case a dash.
I can't use charCode, or keyCode in KeyboardEvent to find out the character pressed, because even if I change the keyboard layout, charCode and keyCode are not change (if press the same key).So, how to find the presssed character, following to the current keyboard layout?
The charCode property is the numeric value of that key in the current character set (the default character set is UTF-8, which supports ASCII).is not correct.
I have a TextInput field that should be restricted to either capital letters, lowercase letters, numbers and underscores. This is the code I'm trying to use to restrict characters:
restrict="A-Za-z½-9 \_-"
I'm using MXML for this Textinput component.
Unfortunately this does not restrict the character, which is the last character I'd like to restrict.
How can I add the backslash to the list of restricted characters?
I just started developing in "Flash Builder 4" (flex framework) and I just can't figure out what the development process of animating characters should look like. My goal is to animate (standing - walking - jumping ...) a simple character like the stick figures in the game "Stick War" [URL]. I know there is a technique to do so by shape tweening in the Adobe Flash tool by using keyframes. But what I can't figure out is how to do it in Flex. Also it would be nice to get a description of a workflow from drawings to animation to code. Especially how to encapsulate the animated character in a class that manages the transition from e.g. running to jumping.
I would like my character to move as if he was drunk I am unsure how to do that I am using the keyboard for his movement. I also have a character that moves at random I would like the drunk moving character to be able to catch this character and play a scene from within the drunk characters movie clip but I want this character to try and escape the idea is the drunk character gets points for how long he is able to hang on to this character
I need to match a string that begins and ends with the same character in flex...I know the long hand way (RE being - "a[^(a")]a" | "b[^(b")b" | etc...), but I'm positive this isn't what I'm required to do (midterm tomorrow!);
I need to do this in flex, but if you can think of a short regex for it, I may be able to convert it to flex notation.
What I was thinking of was something along the lines of -
%% int firstChar; %x string; %%
[Code].....
But this bugs me in a few ways, first, having that variable makes this not a regular language; second, I don't know if you can even use a variable to in a pattern match; and third, I don't know how NOT to match it, if it's just a normal string. And third, I don't know how to return everything that's been matched while in 'string'
I want to modify the Flex 3 TextInput control to accept a tab character as valid input (The app allows the user to enter an arbitrary delimiter string for file output formatting, and tab is a common use case). However, clearly in the default implementation the tab key changes the form focus away from the selected control.
I'd like to be able to add a character to a TextInput programmatically (say when you press a button) even when using IMEs (I'm using a Japanese IME right now). Normally this would be super easy, i.e.
protected function button_clickHandler(event:MouseEvent):void { ti.text = "k"; }
