in my Flash/CS3 game I want the user to hold down SHIFT key to make their character run instead of walking. However on Windows I keep getting the "do you want to enable stickykeys" popup as a result. Is there a way to avoid this in Flash, or should I just use a different key... if so are there other keys I should blacklist as well?

I am working on a short animated story, which has a scrubbable timeline and chapter headings. I used TimelineMax for sequencing it. For the most part, it is working fine. I am seeing some strange behavior that pop up, though: sprites disappear, functions stop responding to user input, seams of the sprites become transparent -- all small issues but pretty hard to nail down because they happen in Mac only.
So I am wondering what is wrong with Flash, and why it misbehaves on a Mac?

I have ensured its coordinates are integers and have not allowed smoothing (smoothing somewhat fixes the issue but reduces quality of the image).The problem is the image appears to shift one pixel to the left and add that pixel on to the right side meaning one side has no border and the other a double border.The original bitmap does not have this issue, and there is no transparency .etc in the image.

I am using Google's Audio player to play an MP3 on a webpage. My issue is that I am overlaying an image on top of the the play/pause button. Yet when the image is clicked nothing happens. Here is the code:

That did not work. One thing I noticed is if I have visibility:hidden; the flash player will not respoind to any clicks regardless of what is over it. With that said I attempted to overlay the image using <input> without the visibility:hidden; and it still did not work.
I need to get this fixed if at all possible. I am willing to use another flash player that is similar as long as it works correctly and will use an mp3 like above.
I'm having an issue with the PDF displaying outside the viewable area of the mx:HTML control in Flex. When the application starts up - the mx:HTML is set to a certain size, but can be enlarged if the application is maximized. I'm running ant to compile a Flex application, and the build keeps failing when running it on a windows command line. Other people in my team can successfully run the very same build under mac and linux. This is the error shown in the command prompt:

All tokens are set in corresponding build.properties and filter .properties files (and, as I said before, it compiles perfectly under mac and linux). The windows version is 7 Ultimate, FLEX_HOME is set as an environment variable to the Flex SDK 3.5 (the 3.5.0.12683 build that comes with Adobe Flash Builder Burrito). ${compiler.fork} is set to false, to avoid an issue with the SDK and the source files being in different logic drives.

In fact he's saving quite well, the problem is that it is displaying a dialog box for saving the document, and i want to save and replace the file automatically when i click the save button without displaying the dialog box.
NOTE: I am using the FileReference class to use the method Save(), i read somewhere on the internet that FileStream class can be used for this, but i don't know how...
So, I'm pretty sure this is impossible, but is there any way to "re-skin" the box that pops up asking you if flash should be allowed access to your mic and webcam? I'd really love to make that box fit with the rest of the design of whatever I'm building.
Also, if I have several swfs that use the mic/webcam inside one larger shell swf, will the dialog box appear once for each of the sub-swfs, or just once for the large one, and those settings will be applied to all the sub-swfs?

I am familiar with flex and am hoping that i be able to use it for the application. But i can not figure out a way to play the file in flex. I have been able to play the file only in windows media player and that required the installation of three codecs : Mp4Audio.ax, Mp4Video.ax, Mp4Src.ax.
As i see it, it will be very convenient if i could embed a windows media player plugin in flex or i could specify the audio and video codecs in the flash player
I have a flex application (.swf) and want to create a projector file. When I choose File-> create projector I get the .app file because I work on a Mac. I know I can create both projector formats for windows and mac using the export feature in Flash Professional. But this is not an option since it's Flex.Is there any other way rather than switching to windows to create the file?
View 1 RepliesI have Flash CS4 10.0.1.545 Mac with OS X 10.5.6: I have the standard Workspace and when I select Import to import an image, the open file dialog in OS X slides down from the top of the stage and the entire Flash window that is holding my timeline and stage moves down about 100 pixels. I then import, then I click the top of the window to move it back up and it snaps back instantly as soon as I click on it before I drag it up.

I need some management for my pop-ups: all pop-up notifications should be stacked up, so that if two (or more) pop-up messages are initiated at the same time I show them one by one.
What's the best practice here? Should I employ a proxy to manage my pop-ups (sounds unreasonable). How do I get feedback back from my dialog? using notifications?
