Actionscript :: Text On SWC Won't Show Up When Imported From FlashDevelop?

I've posted this question before but no useful answer was found. People told me to use embedAsCFF=false, but I'm not embedding any font directly.
There is a textfield using "Impact" as font inside a movieclip. I exported the movieclip as an swc so that I would be able to use it's graphics in my Flashdevelop project. When I add the swc to the screen, everything is fine but the text. It doesn't appear.
I have been working with Flixel in FlashDevelop for quite some time, and I recently updated my Flixel library to the latest version. Some things have changed names or have been moved or had their inputs changed. For some reason, FlashDevelop is still showing me the documentation from the old version of Flixel as I type things in, so I keep trying to use variable and functions etc that no longer exist.
I am trying to import a .flv video to my flash websiteI do it by choosing the "Progressive download from a webserver" optionIn the .swf file generated, the video runs normally , but when I run my website trough the index.html file and I goto the page where It is supposed to be, the video doesnt show up, as if it never existedI dont know what may be hapenning
I'm having trouble using the following tutorial and flashdevelop template to build a flash project for iOS. [URL] Whenever I compile my project (using FlashDevelop 3.3.4) I get an error from adl.exe saying "Error loading initial content". Using the iOS applicationpackager.bat, I get an error saying: application.xml: error 305: Intial window content SWF version 11 exceeds namespace version [URL]I'm using air 2.7 and Flex 4.5.1 on Windows XP.
I was working on a dynamic text with xml imported file which contains this kind of code:[code]I have more of that example along the xml file, they're kind of a little newspaper. It has no other kind of code in it.Anyway, I wanted to format the text of the body to "justify",but somehow, with justify option selected on the dynamic text box (if that's enough to work), in flash, it didn't work.So i've heard that justify didn't work, or didn't exist on previous versions of flash, so I've verified the version of the flash file and "voil", it was a 6.0 version.But now, that it's on version 10, the text disappears on *.swf file... And I don't have a single clue about it..Because on version 6.0 it was all ok, except the standard left alignment.
i have an xml file .... i have imported it into flash mx 2004, tutorial i have even applied css properties to it ( i know thats prop easy for most of you guys but im happy ) my question is this ... i would like to rotate messages on some kind of timer ... ie xml file - ( im guessing at this point cos its worked so far ... )

flash action script ... what i would like to achieve... the flash file to import the xml file into a dynamic text box which i have done, but at the moment it is showing all the captions in one go .. i would like to show.. caption1 .... wait X amount of time ( a variable in seconds ? - how would i do that ? ) a motion tween to get rid of the message ( not sure what yet but i understand the basic principles so will experiment and be creative ) caption2 .... etc.
Using AS3 in flash CS4Hi i have some imported text from a tab delimited/seperated text file (.txt).I have split the values into an array using .split('') .split(' ')I have stored the imported data into an array where each column has a new index and the properties of each row can be gained from array[n].property. For example array[4].name would give the 'name' of the 4th entity in the original text file.This all works fine however some of the separated strings are formatted incorrectly as they take up 2 lines instead of one.The first string in each line in the original text file is imported into flash with a new line above it. I.e: "Property1" in the original tab delimited/seperated text file is stored in flash as "Property1" with a new line above it. I need to get rid of this new line in order to appropriately display the text in text fields.
I have a AS2 script to get information from a MySQL database. This information is a text from 0 to 300 chars. I want to display that text in this layout: I want to resize the black box you see on the picture in function of the amount of text imported. The instance name of the box is: cargador.fondo (only want to resize height) The instance name of the text is: cargador.texto

I have a very simple flash program code in AS3, inside this program there is a dynamic textfield html capable. Also i have a database were i will put some information.Each element in the database can be linked to other. For example, this database will contain tourist spots, and they can be related with others in the same database.This interesting spot is near <link to="ramdo2">ramdom place2</link>. And so, so so..The information in the database is retrived by the flash application and it shows the text on the dynamic textfield. I need somehow to tell my flash application that have to be a link to other part of the database, so when the user click the link a function in flash call this new data.The database is a simple Mysql server, and the data is not yet in there, waiting for your suggestions of how to format it and develop the solution.Im a php developer too, so i can make a gateway in PHP to read the MySQL and then retrive some format to flash, an XML for example.
I cant believe that Flash will let you load data from a text file then doesn't allow you to do anything with the data other than display it. Surely there must be a way you can do something the data imported ie perform some calculations. Is this beyond Flash or is this something that has been addressed in AS3? All the tutorials I've found all stop at just displaying and 'swonking'.

In a nutshell, I'm trying to create a dynamic text box in which text show up for one XML node but not for another, so I have some XML nodes that have info in them and others that don't. This seems like it would be a realatively easy thing to do, but I've been working on figuring out how to do so for days with no avail. I am using a dynamic text field to show html formatted text from .txt files. I have set the html property both in the properties panel and in AS, and it mostly works. All html formatting show up just fine, except for when "&" is used. Flash CS3 documentation indicates that & is supported, so.? All text after the & does not appear: the only text loaded is that that comes before it. I am using CS3, AS2, publishing in Flash Player 9. Sorry if this problem has been addressed elsewhere, but I've had no luck with my searches.

[URL] I see where the text is under Actions but I'm wondering if I can input hyperlinks and email links as well or will I only be able to use this with plain text. If formatting and links are allowed, how can I input the text to show as a link. Sorry, I don't know much about flash and just trying to make a simple text box with scrolling capability that will allow hyperlinks, bold, etc...
I can't get my text to show in a text field created at runtime within a movieclip on _root. I use a trace statement and it loads into the Output box but is not visible in the textField area..there are no masks in the movieClip.
My function for creating it...

I have a movie where a variable named daysleft will be loaded from an external text file into a dynamic text box, this bit works fine. But I then need the movieclip "numbers" to gotoAndStop to the frame number imported via the variable daysleft. Although daysleft displays on the screen a trace(daysleft); says the variable is undefined.

I am following video by Buck Defore on Creating a simple application. I compile the ActionScript by hitting Control Enter. List and button come up but the text in the List does not appear.
I have a SWF file that is the first frame of the movie and it's only purpose is to load in another SWF and show text corresponding to the progress of download completion. When I test the movie (Simulate Download) it just simulates without showing my text with percentage complete. The only way I can get it to show, is if I add a button to click to make it show. How can I get it, so that when someone opens the movie, it will start the download process, show the percentage, and then upon completion, start the UILoader movie?[code]...
I have recently made the transition from AS2 to AS3 and having worked out how to input text to be shown in another frame on the timeline, I would now like to input text in one swf file to be shown in a different swf file. I have searched the web for answers but cannot find what I am looking for.
I have button (csignal_btn and endsignal_btn) and i have dynamic text (csignal_txt and endsignal_txt). Now how i can when is unhovered to no be text (alpha=0), and when hover csignal_btn to show csignal_txt (alpha=1)?? Same thing for endsignal_btn
