View 7 RepliesI'm trying to create a flash program that uses it's own code to send and create images. Each square has a colour and that colour gets added into the array. A black, then grey, then white is:
filecode = ["Bl", "Gr", "Wh"];
That works fine, but when I try to paste it into an Input text box it will only fill in the first part of the array.
filecode = ["Bl,Gr,Wh"];
So the program has NO idea what I want.The only ways I can think of fixing this is by putting in 402 text boxes to suit every box...But every one of them needs a Variable Name.Or by sending the information straight into the array. But this way you are just looking at what you just drew, and that is not at ALL practical.
I've built a photo gallery to run off of xml, loading the images into a loader object that has been added to the stage. I'm doing so by using a variable currentImg to store the index of the XMLList that should be loaded into the loader. But when the next image is loaded by imcrementing the currentImg variable, & re-loading, it is kind of ugly. There is a flash where the BG is revealed, & then the loader updates. I'm wondering if there's any way to do this more attractively by tweening from one image to the next. I'm not opposed to using other tween classes either.

pics= ["images/pic1.jpg",
"images/pic2.jpg",
"images/pic3.jpg",
"images/pic4.jpg", "images/pic5.jpg"];

I have a method that takes a few paramerters and dynamicly adds three images to the stage it also adds a background image to the three images.I am trying to figure out the following: How can I tween in the background movieclip and on complete tween in the three dynamic movieClips? Can I have a function within a function that shares the same variables?
Something like the following:
public function addImages(BackGround:String,Image1:String,Image2:String,Image3:String):void
{
var symbol_class:Class = getDefinitionByName(BackGround);
var image1_class:Class = getDefinitionByName(Image1);
var image2_class:Class = getDefinitionByName(Image2);
[Code]...
I have a working AS2 banner that loads in an array of images into a movieclip using flashvars and then cycles through these (there's no limit on the array length).
Unforunately, the images couldn't alpha tween into eachother as the AS2 script needs to be seperated onto sperate keyframes in order to count through the array.
I've created another movieclip which loads in the 'next' image in the array, so that when the current image fades down, the next fades up.
So to break down:
bannerContainer_mc - loads current image
nextContainer_mc - loads next image
Unfortunately when the timeline loops to the start again, bannerContainer_mc loads in the image which was previously loaded into nextContainer_mc. This creates a 'jolt' in the animation as the same image is re-loaded.
Is there any way of perhaps caching nextContainer_mc at the end of the banner sequence, to save loading it again in bannerContainer_mc?
I made a logo for my website in Fireworks (I tried it in Flash as well, but I couldn't create even a similar one). I imported images and made the intro part. I made a new timeline for every image and tween them the slide in, rotate, etc. At the last frame I gave my movie a "stop();" command. I'm here right now.
I would like to add a shiny effect now which slides over the logo every 4-5sec. I know I have to do some mask thing, but I'm not sure how to start. Should I select everything at the last frame and create a movie clip and then inside that movie clip create a mask? would that work this way?

I wanted that background to flow or move a bit, but I can't make a similar image in flash and if I import another image from fireworks I can't tween them. Does anyone know how to tween to similar images imported from fireworks?
Is it posible to realize a alpha tween effect between two images with an interval of let'ssay 7 seconds, based on ActionScript.
View 3 RepliesI'm not too good with flash. I'm trying to make a basic scrolling bar for sponsors. Here's a simple example: I've added an action:
Code:
addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_OVER, mo);
function mo (event:MouseEvent):void

I've used the Tween Class to put together an image gallery scroller. As you can see in attached example the top 3 images are the same as the bottom 3. For a reason. The tween class shifts the images from top to bottom. At which point the total images clip should shift back to the top and continue from there. These would make it appear as if the images rotate. I've used this code:

i am fading images into view using tweens, however the images flicker during the tween when i play them back in the flash player. Does anyone have any thoughts, advise, work-arounds?? Cheers
View 1 RepliesI am a beginner at Flash and I'm starting to learn it now as I build my portfolio site on the software. I'm not expecting to be able to do anything ultra-awesome, I just want it to be clean and good looking, with simple but working effects.
Down to the point, how do I make buttons similar to the ones in this site?[URL].. I don't know whether my buttons should be buttons or if they should be movie clips or whatever, I'm kind of lost here. So, if anyone can teach me how to make this button, include the roll-over function on it and have a tweened color change as smooth as this one,
I want to use tween animation to move 6 or more images onto a stack in the middle of the stage. (I can do this). When all the images are in the stack, I want the images in the stack to disperse to various parts of the stage.
View 1 RepliesI am loading images into a movie clip consecutively - the code has flash read through the XML nodes one by one and load in the images one after the other. I need flash to recognize when all the images have been loaded, and at that stage I want it to tween the movieClip containing the images. I have it all working, except I am getting this weird glitch where the movie clip jerks from left to right while the image are loading (at least i think its when the images are loading!) - it then settles down and runs normally. the code is below, so can see what i mean by 'jerks from left to right' if you check out the site: [URL]

I have a number of cases where I have a tween happening in ActionScript, but I would like it to happen after a delay from the event that triggers it. At the moment I'm creating this delay by having a tween that does nothing (eg. an "_x" tween for which the start and end points are the same) and then using tween1.onMotionFinished = function(){to create the one I really want. Is there a way to create this delay more neatly?
View 1 RepliesI'm just learning the software and haven't been able to figure this out. I'm trying to create an historic timeline for our company and am using 20 jpg images, which I placed on separate layers and then converted each jpg to a symbol and motion tweened to go across the screen. The problem is that there is a gap between the frames when they play as a movie and I don't know how to get rid of that so that they flow continuously across the screen from left to right seamlessly.
View 5 RepliesI have no problem creating shape tweens in Flash CS4, but motion tweens are a problem. Here's what I do:
- I draw a rectangle and convert it to a symbol on frame 1.
- I create a key frame on frame 25, where I place the symbol in a different position.
- On frame 1 I create a motion tween.
When I run this nothing happens until frame 24, and on 25 the symbol appears on its final position. I can do the movement with a shape tween, but I want to do it with a motion tween, as this may be a question at the exam next week.
I have already created an animattion of a bird flapping its wings. I want to include this within another animation of it flying around as well as flapping wings and wondering how this can be done. I tried to import it as both a gif image and swf movie and although it holds the original animation I cannot add the motion tween to draw the flying path.
View 3 RepliesIs it possible to make a motion tween with as2 code only ( not with timeline).
View 1 Replieshow to create a motion blur during a tween?
I dont have any examples now, but you know when you tween a movieclip across the stage (changing its x and y properites) and then according to speed of a movieclip a blur effect is applied?
I have two bitmap graphics (bmp1, bmp2) already created with the BitmapData class using the contents of an object (label1):
var myBitmapData1:BitmapData = new BitmapData(150, 150);
myBitmapData1.draw(label1, matrix, null, null, null, true);
var bmp1:Bitmap = new Bitmap(myBitmapData1);
[code].....
import fl.transitions.Tween;
import fl.transitions.easing.*;
var homemanTween:Tween = new Tween(homeman_mc, "x", Elastic.easeOut, 1000, 50, 3, true);//frist tween
var adobeTween:Tween = new Tween(adobe_mc, "alpha", Regular.easeOut, 0, 1, 3, true);//second tween
how can I animate the 2nd tween after 3 seconds when 1st tween stops.
How do you create a motion tween when I insert keyframe in frame 28 then I click on the object and create motion tween but when i click in 60 to insert keyframe I get opition of position, scale, skew, rotate ect. I just want to insert keyframe. What am I doing wrong?

View 2 RepliesBasically, I created an image and converted it to a movie clip. Inside of this movie clip, I create a new layer and I give both layers 70 frames. On the top layer, I then draw a path, right click on the layer, and choose guide. I then drag and drop the bottom layer, which represents my movie clip, under the guide layer. The next step is to right click on the bottom layer, my object layer, and choose create motion tween. This for me however is blocked out, and my only option is to create a classic tween.
Just as a note, I am using CS5 and the tutorial I am following looks to be using an older version. Additionally, they don't right click on the layer and choose motion tween. They select the layer and from like their properties panel, they have a tween option, and from the drop down, they choose motion. I cannot find this option box in my interface however. Is there any logical reason why it wont allow me to do a motion tween?
Is there any ways to create a slow motion tween within a limited keyframe?
View 1 RepliesWhen I create a new tween in the global scope in order to use it many times in my functions, I have to stop to avoid its execution. Is it normal ? Or maybe I should put it into a function and call the tween function everytime I need to use it... mhm. Maybe I answered by myself

What would be a good way to create a sin wave motion using the math, not tween, class? In maya it was quite simple with sin(value) but I can't seem to get a decent undulation out of Flash. The case I'm working on is a bubble generator, you know, just for kicks. That fish tank screen saver has the bubbles moving in a sin wave it seems, looks like it works well enough.
