ActionScript 2.0 :: ADD OnRelease Method On Movieclip That Already Has A OnRelease Meth

Feb 10, 2010

Is there a way to ADD onRelease method on movieclip that already has a onRelease method? Without replacing the first one.

ActionScript Code:
mc.onRelease = function(){
trace('1');
}

I was thinking this, but it doesn't work

ActionScript 2.0 :: Remove OnRelease Event For MovieClip

May 24, 2005

I'm trying to remove a onRelease event for a movieclip of mine. The action is defined in the movie's class file like so:

Code:
private function onRelease():Void {
delete this.onRelease;
trace ("test");
}

Unfortunately this doesn't seem to be removing the onRelease events, and whenever I click on the button it traces "test". Is there some other way to remove onRelease events when they are applied through a class? When I use the above method out of the class definition all is fine, like this:

Code:
secaoMap_mc.onRelease = function () {
delete this.onRelease;
trace ("teste");
}

Checkbox Within A Movieclip That Has A OnRelease Function, Doesn't Check

Jun 29, 2009

I have a movie clip which has onRelease, onRollOver and on onRollOut functions associated with it. Within that movieclip I also have a checkbox, but the checkbox does not check when I click on it. When i disable the "on" functions, the checkbox is then working as normal.

Is there a way I could have the "on" functions and the checkbox working simultaniously?

ActionScript 1/2 :: OnRelease GetURL Not Working With MovieClip Animation

Dec 22, 2009

I am new to Flash/Actionscript and am having problems getting some movieclips to link to different URLs on release. I am able to get them to animate, and I am able to get them to link to an html page in the same folder, but I can't get both functionalities to work at the same time. I've tried putting the actionscript in the instance object, in the action layer, and other things and nothing seems to work!?

Here is the link to the source file: [URL] believe that the actionscripting needs to be done in the "banners" movieclip, but it could also be the "Symbol 3" movieclip. Here is also a link to the .swf [URL]. See, if you mouse over the first two clips, they animate, but they do not go to the HTML page if you click on them [URL]. The third clip will go to the page success1.html in the same folder if you click on it, but it does not animate on mouse over.

Sure this will be a simple fix, and I'm just not seeing the wood for the trees. I have a movie with a movieclip called scroller_mov. Inside it are 15 movieclips named pic1 thru pic15.

My code is on one frame, on the same level as scroller_mov. Just want to dynamically assign a click action to the pic1 - pic15 movieclips! have tried hardcoded links and dynamic, but no joy! Everything else works fine.

ActionScript 2.0 :: OnRollOver On MovieClip Blocks OnRelease Events

Dec 7, 2010

I want a transparent movie clip that displays a tool tip when you roll over it. Beneath that movie clip I have other movie clips that I want to be clickable. Unfortunately having the "onRollOver" event on the top layer movie clip blocks the "onRelease" events of the lower movie clips. If I move the smaller movie clips on top it will work but I have to setup a tool tip for each of them (and it disappears and reappears when I move from one MC to another). I also thought about using the "onMouseMove" event and doing a hit test, but that seems less efficient.

ActionScript 2.0 :: FLASH 8 : OnRelease Function Not Working For Movieclip?

the seven dots u see on the stage are 7 emptymovieclips. i've coded the action script to load the thumbnails in 6 emptymovieclips on left side arranged in grid.script is working fine till 6 thumbnails are loaded in the grid.(from externel xml file as i've coded)as logically u can guess that, when we click on a thumbnail, it's bigger copy should be loaded in the black square on he stage. but it is not happening ; i;ve coded for it also ;in the following script u can see that the last command is:

_root.thumb0.onRelease = function() {
trace ("clicked");
}

it should dispaly "clicked" on output window when thumb0 is clicked but it isn't showing anything. not any error even. the above line is in firstframe's action script; and it must should work from here only, not under the AS of thumb0 movieclip.

ActionScript 2.0 :: OnRelease Move MovieClip - Navigation Items

Feb 14, 2008

I am making a navigation for a site, and the client wants a box behind a menu item to show that it is the active option. He wants that box to move to behind the new option when selected. So my navigation goes along the x axis; home contact about etc. Initially the box, which I have given the instance name 'tab' is behind 'home' as its the homepage.

So by clicking on say, the third option, the box will move from home to the third option, and say the user then clicks the second option, the box is to move to behind that. I got 4 navigation items, all are buttons, all on their own layer with the box being on its own layer too (obviously below the layers for the buttons so it appears behing the menu item).

I thought it would be quite simple, have some code which effectively says:
buttom1.on(release) {
tab.moveto(x value, 40);
}
