ActionScript 2.0 :: Interactive Image Pan Positioning

Dec 29, 2006

I'm quite new in ActionScript (but I know the basics). Well anyway, I have a small problem. I'm doing this fake panorama to my site and I've used this Interactive Image Panning code I found here at kirupa.com. Now I have added some buttons into it and by pressing those I would like the image to move to a specific position (with ease if it's possible) and stop. And by pressing another button the panning starts again. Is it possible to add to this code? (I have made some little modifications to the code. There is a mask area where the panning works and if your mouse is outside the area the panning doesn't work)

ActionScript 2.0 :: Mac IE And Dynamic Image Positioning?

I'm using MX 2004 for a photographic portfolio project. The site seems to work fine on 99% percent of systems. Unfortunatley a strange error occus when viewing the site with IE on Mac OSX.I a dynamically loading images using LoadMovie and repostioning them so that they are centred. Sometimes with Mac IE the image doesn't get centred and is loaded with the top left corner in the centre of the screen as it would had the repositioning not happened.

This only happens sometimes and only with some images and with different images each time. I can reproduce the effect on my Mac but am stumped as to why it happens. I have ruled out the flash player version (it happens with them all) and have tried numerous export settings.Here's the code for the loading and repositioning and the link,

This is probably a beaten subject but even after reading many post a couldn't understand how to go about it.After doing the following:

PHP Code:
this.crateEmptyMovieClip("myMC",this.getNextHighestDepth());myMC.loadMovie("image.jpg");

-would it be possible to set the _x and _y of image.jpg relative to myMC?You see moving myMC and then loading the picture into it will not me because myMC is to be scaled and manipulated, so its axis must be in the center of the loaded image.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Image On The First Page Of The "interactive Image Panning Tutorial"

Jun 4, 2009

I am building a flash based website and have a large rectangle mc that I am panning left to right that has buttons nested inside. I followed the kirupa tutorial called "interactive image panning" and everything seems to be working fine. My problem is this. I want this panned mc to be centered and framed by a black border that will also act as a mask hiding the ends of the rectangle that have not yet been panned to. When I add this black border the code thinks the stage dimensions are larger and the panning gets whacky. How can I contain this panned mc so it doesn't react to a change in the stage dimensions. it also does this when I open the published HTML in the browser. I basically want it to behave like the sample image on the first page of the "interactive image panning tutorial". There must be an easy solution.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Interactive Image Panning?

I've been looking for a Flash component/tutorial I can use to make an interactive map. Now I've found the tutorial Interactive Image Panning here at Kirupa.

IDE :: Adding More Layers To Interactive Image Pan?

Feb 27, 2009

I am trying to achieve something like this: [URL]

I have successfully gone through and executed the Interactive Image Pan tutorial you have on here. However I am looking to add more of a sense of depth, so would like some images in the "foreground" to scroll by faster (than the background) as the cursor is moved.

To accomplish this I have made the foreground image cover a much bigger width than the background, as it makes sense to me that this would make it scroll faster, using the same code as the background.

So my question is what code do I need to add to the original code to make the foreground image scroll too? It's a MC called fg_mc. Here's the original code for quick reference:

Code:
this.onMouseMove = function() {
constrainedMove(bg_mc, 4, 1);
};

Create An Interactive Image Gallery For Use On GoDaddy?

Jun 3, 2009

I am trying to create an interactive image gallery for use on my GoDaddy.com site. The site is template based and will only accept a single standalone.swf file. As an example GoDaddy shows an image gallery created in Flash Slideshow Maker Pro. However, this is only for a PC platform and I'm on a Mac. I created an interactive image gallery using Jetphoto software. However, the Jetphoto software does not produce a single standalone .swf file. Instead it produces folders containing hi & lo jpgs, an html file, an xml file and a jetphotview.swf file. Does anyone know of a Mac based interactive slideshow program that is easy to use and will create a single .swf file? Or, although I don't know how to use it, I own a full version of Flash. Is there any way to convert the series of Jetphoto files to a single .swf file? When it is opened in Flash the save menus are grayed out.  I tried to convert the .swf file back to an .fla file to bring into Flash and that doesn't work either.

Jul 10, 2008

Just downloaded the interactive image panning fla and am using the code to move swatches that are buttons...

it works only problem is that once a button is clicked it still pans the buttons around as it is a onMouseMove function.This can confuse the user as they may think it has not been clicked.So what i want is for that panning to stop once one of the panning buttons is clicked.yet still have that panning function if the original button clicked is the wrong one and the user wants to scroll through them again.

IDE :: Restricting Cursor Area In Interactive Image Pan?

Mar 6, 2009

My problem is that my final .swf is embedded onto an html page and stretches for the entire width of the users screen. This means that if they have a particularly high resolution, the width of the .swf file stretches significantly beyond the initial stage settings. I'm okay with this, as I really need the .swf to fill the width of the screen.

However, it means that the cursor is able to be pointed more than 100% left or right of the stage, causing the panning image to move further left or right than it should.

What I need to know is how to get around this. I'm assuming I could set a boundary at the left and right of the stage where the code wouldn't be active?

Here's my code:

Code:
this.onMouseMove = function() {
constrainedMove(bg_mc, 4, 1);
constrainedMove(fg_mc, 4, 1);

ActionScript 2.0 :: Interactive Image Pan Tutorial - Contain Size To MC?

Jun 26, 2011

currently using the source files on the tutorials page, combining the stuff in this tutorial with the stuff in the Sliding Menu tutorial (http:url...) with each Interactive Pan image being one of the content pages. Trying to go for a touch screen ipad type feel to the site.

The 'image' for the panning is basically text based and I've managed to switch around the code to make it scroll on the y axis instead of the x axis. The problem I've got is that the content is using the "Stage.height" as its border, and I want to contain it within the height of the MC clip (690x580).

Jquery :: 'platform' Should Use To Develop An Online Interactive Image Map?

Nov 17, 2011

I'm trying to create a simple interactive image map where the user would be able to hover the mouse pointer over a part of the image and the setup would in turn animate/show/unhide a pop-up box (not new window!) next to the mouse pointer's current position containing text, images, &| clickable links. However, in the example, it is not an image map, but 9 small images. Each image becomes a bit larger when hovered over, and when clicked, loads the image into the right of the page. I'm looking to satisfy these criteria: I want to use an image map (HTML or other) instead of 9 small images I want the hovering action to also load the image - remove the need to click the image I want the page to be viewable & interactive from all popular viewers - desktop browsers, mobile browsers, iPads, Android tablets, etc... I'm not sure what platform (aka - mix of dev tools) to use in order to satisfy the list of criteria above. The main goal is for the last item in the list of criteria above to be satisfied. I could probably sacrifice the first or second criteria from the list above if that's what needs to be done in order to satisfy the last item. The couple of "platforms" I thought of using were: HTML + CSS jQuery + CSS Flash + Actionscript Javascript + AJAX What set of tools should I use to pull this off?

ActionScript 3.0 :: Interactive Image Scroller - Arrows On Left And Right Side

Sep 11, 2009

I want to make an interactive image scroller. I am making a webshop and I want a flash to scroll through some of the latest products (3 or 4) that I put in myself and animate or whatever, maybe there's a better and easier way. I want this movie to have these products scrolling from right to left by auto with maybe an ease effect, but when you move your mouse pointer over the whole movie I want it to stop, and when it stops I want two arrows appear on the left and right side of the movie which will be clickable and you will be able to scroll through the products with them as well.

It doesn't need to have an external XML connection where you insert scrolling speed and so on. Of course it would be simplier, but without is fine too. I will try to explain in what terms I know of:
-Mouseout/rollout = 3 or 4 products scrolling one by one from the right and ease in to the middle, pause 4 seconds, then scroll out to the left with an ease. Looped.
-Mouseover/rollover = Movie stops and then you can use arrows on both each side and scroll by yourself. But I don't know if I want this only to be available when the product is in the center of the movie, or else it would be kind of weird if the movie stopped when one product was just about to go half-way out or in.

Professional :: Interactive / Animated Image Gallery / Help In Flex / Flash CS5

Sep 5, 2010

I'm new to flex/flash cs5, but am an experienced coder, and am trying to help a friend get a site built quickly so they can graduate. They would like their image gallery that displays their portfolio to have:thumbnails floating around slowly and bouncing off of one another - mouse hover would freeze and then resume animation after the mouse leaves - when clicked the thumbnail would grow to the full size image and be displayed in the same window as the floating objects Something similar to whats found at: Flash and Picasa gallery with those other features would be perfect, but without the Google RSS aspect of it. Might anyone know where I could be pointed in the right direction for accomplishing this? Or possibly could be given technical names for the effects I'm trying to implement so I can look them up easier? Perhaps even a link to download something with the floating/bouncing element for the thumbnails, then I could figure out the code for the other effects needed.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Turning Image Into ByteArray Of Numbers - Interactive Crop Tool

Nov 29, 2010

I've been playing with the Jpeg encoder now for a while and haven't come much further than just realising how to turn an image into a ByteArray of numbers. The code below is incredibly useful at turning a movieclip on the stage into a Jpeg and downloading it to the user. Unfortunately I need to amend the Bytearray first with a crop tool before creating the jpeg. e.g. delete the array value if the image is outside of the rectangle? And a rotate tool, e.g. all the values in the array switch places 90 degrees!? (the X and Y values switch over).Also it downloads to the user, but I need it to save onto the server so I can keep using it in flash, before then emailing the jpeg to a known email address.

(E.g. if a 10px x 10px bitmap, would have 100 values in the array, to crop it into a 5 x 5 image, I would delete array entries
where X < 2 and X > 7
and Y < 2 and Y> 7.
Or to rotate it, X for 1st pixel becomes the Y for the 1st pixel and vice versa)....

import com.adobe.images.JPGEncoder;
import flash.net.URLRequest;
import flash.display.BitmapData;
