I am enquring as I wish to add a 'behind the scenes' most popular ranking element to my site, thus not only by clicks but by time spent on a page. Thus ideally indicating which pages are of most interest. Does this sound reasonable?

View 12 RepliesHow can I pop or shift more than one element of an array in the same time? I have been searching, and I can't find the answer anywhere. My new project is to pop or shift 3 element of an array of let's say of 100 elements, and with a click of a button display them into a textfield having in mind the date factor. If today I click the button, it'll give me the same numbers, all the day; but when tomorow i'll click the button, it will give me another set of numbers all the day long, and so on. Do I make sense and continue, or I just forget about it ? I have the button, the array, how to acces the date, and flash CS 5.5. All I need I believe, is How to pop or to shift more than one element.

I created an interactive image pan (750 x 300). I then tried to add the 750 x 300 panning image as a movie clip as part of a larger stage (750 x 550), so that it was a band across part of the stage with static content above and below. When tested the scroll keeps going off the end of the image? How you can add the interactive scroll as an element of a page rather than just on its own without the scroll going off the end of the image?

Does anyone know what CSS changes I need to make so the overlay will appear above everything below it? The background loads an iframe.

I can't add wmode="transparent" to the embed tag, since I have no control over the page loaded in the iframe.
Is there anyway to take take a "screenshot", "save" or "capture" the active SWF element on a page as an image? I'd like for users to be able to simply click a button on my page, instead of having to need to manually take a screenshot of the entire page and then crop the image to show only the SWF element.I found a Jquery method, although I am unsure if it could work with SWF files. It basically captures an area of an Image element on the page and allows you to save that as a separate image. What I would need however, is to capture the SWF as the image instead. Note: I do not have access to the SWF code so I cannot achieve this using Actionscript or anything like that
View 2 RepliesI'm using Flash CS3, AS2, PHP, mysql database with phpbb user registration. What I'm trying to do is a make a contest game where you have 5 different ladies and the users get to rank them in order from 1 to 5. Since it is a contest, users will need to be logged in. We already have a database of users based on phpbb, and a registration page. I need them to be able to log in using that username/pass and then they can play the game.
The game consists of a drag and drop mechanism (which I have) so the user can drag "#1" to "girl-4", drag "#2" to "girl-5" etc. Once they drag and drop all the boxes into the order they want, the user then submits it. The data I need to capture in the database is the User, date/time, their rank order (seperated so we can do a query to figure out how many they got right out of the 5.) The final twist is that we are going to have 9 total 'games', one each week for 9 weeks, and we only want users to be able to play once per week.
For an example you can see a working version here. That one does a bunch of more complicated stuff that I don't want to do. The programmer that did it is no longer here and it has been hard trying to decipher his code. I have the whole drag and drop mechanism using the old code from the above example. This is a snippit of the code. drag1_mc is the number they drag (there are 5, so drag1_mc, drag2_mc etc.) and drop1_mc is the rank location. (also 5, drop1_mc, drop2_mc, etc)

I have a ranking system set up, and its functional. The movie clips "a"-"d" displays the rank. While the dynamic text box "one" is changing for future reference.

However, I realized that if you got a rank of B, and you replayed the level, and your rank went down, you'd want your better rank to stay in place. So how can I keep the highest rank in the dynamic text box "one", so it doesn't change if you later get a lower rank?
I have an animated logo swf file that loads and runs once on the home page every time the page loads. The logo has been updated to appear in three different colour schemes. I want one scheme to load and when the page is refreshed or revisited, one of the other colour schemes to load in its place. They can appear in any random order, just a different one to the one that played before reloading.Can someone point me to an answer or tell me how to do it? I have found a way in JavaScript but this only works on plain images, not swf files.

View 2 RepliesI have flash where there is a link for song download. And, at the bottom of the flash I've a count, loaded thorugh flash vars which should increment everytime donload button is hit. Please let me know what approach should i take to do that. can i call a Java method on donload button which will insert a row in the table and and then get the count and render it to the count variable in my flash?
May be this extremely confusing. Here is a very similar example on how it is done. This is actually very similar to what i want to do. [URL] on this link there is count below which increments you hit the download button.
Is the a script out there that can load a web page only time when the button is click. I don't want the page to reload when the button is continuosly clicked. if the page is already open and they click on the same button, i don't want the page to reload since it is already open.

Basically I have 14 text boxes, each box draws its content from an external txt file. Next to each text box is a button. I want the button to be either visible=true or visible=false depending on weather or not the text box has content or is "undefined" Here is what I have so far, and it's not working:[code] I would like a FOR loop to just run through the variables and check to see if any of them are undefined. if it is, then make the correct send button invisible.
View 8 RepliesI have a one page web site with 5 links to pseudo pages, so my problem is that on every part of the web site the swf files start playing. (Of course I understand that I can set the first one to play and the others to stop mode, but that doesn't solve the problem) What I try do do is this: *When the web site starts only the first pseudo page let the swf play. *When clicking a link to an other pseudo page that particular movie on the linked page starts playing. *All other swf movies don't play.

i'm trying to build a flash site and ran into a problem... i have a gallery page with a bunch of page numbers at the top. when you click on one, a movieclip loads of some images coming in.so the problem i'm having is that i made a little animation for when you roll the mouse over the page number (they scale up when the mouse is over, scale back when the cursor moves away)... what it's doing is when you roll over, it goes to a certain frame in the timeline and plays that animation.that's all working cool, but i need it to not do that once it's clicked on. so basically when you actually click on a page number, the over script should stop until you go to another page... here's the code i've written,

I'm working on a project with AS3. On timeline I have a movie clip which contains a timer (only one frame). The timer for testing purposes has been set to six seconds. In timeline are two labels (page1 and page2). Timer is on page1. PROBLEM: I would like timer move to page 2 on scene1 when time is zero (0). how to do that. Here is my script:

View 3 RepliesI wonder if anyone on here has any experience of the above component [URL]. It produces 'turning page' books from jpegs and I'm having problems with one aspect of it. I've created a 'GO TO' button where the user can enter the page number that he or she wishes to visit. It all works beautifully, with one problem. The FlippingBook component is set to start at page '0'. This means that if the user enters '5' in the GO TO page box and clicks 'GO', he or she will be taken to page number 6, rather than 5, because what we are calling page 1, the component calls page 0.
I need to try and find a way around this, as if we're working on existing brochures with contents lists and index numbers, it is not feasible to just change all the page numbers. I would think that I need some code to tell the component to add a page to the number each time, but I'm not clear what the code should be or where it might be added.

Scenario: A page has five different instances of the flash player. The user is litening to one song but clicks on another to listen to it.Goal: The first audio file automatically stops while the second starts playing instead of both playing at the same time.
Do I need to have some sort of javascript handler than interacts with the swf or something?
I have a problem with a preloader on a slideshow. The preloader works perfectly the first time the slideshow is loaded but if you move to another frame and then return the loader bar loads in the top left hand corner of the stage and does not function, it just duplicates every time you navigate back to the page.
