I have simple file 550 x 450, in it there is one container 400x300, x:75, y:78. In the container I am loading images and there is drag and drop function for them. I also have added mask with size that matches the size of the container because when i load larger images i could move them. Everything is working fine, but If I set scaleX and scaleY to the container image, the drag and drop functionality is not working fine - I can't reach the edges of the picture.
Code:
with ( m_mask.graphics )
{
beginFill( 0x000000 );
[Code].....
It behaves like there is not enough space to move the image right, left, top or down.
I have a working xml-loaded carousel, I have (see below in the code) a working drag and drop function for a movieclip on my stage. In this code, since I have this one movieclip with instance name "object1_mc", all works fine, drag and drop with copy function. But I would need to be able to drag and drop/copy out of this xml-loaded carousel, when i'm on item1, i would be able to copy this, when on item 2 i would need to be able to copy this item, etc etc..but since this content is not on my stage , how would i give each item an instance name, so my drag & drop/copy function would work along with the carousel?
Is this possible? It's a hassle to have the extra step of keep a seperate movieclip behind the one with the image to get a border. Can I load an image into a movieclip that has a border, or give it a border afterword? Same with shadows.
I set up empty movie clip containers to hold my external .swf files when i load them in. I have 9 different external files that all load correctly. My issue is that when people view my website and cache the files after dynamically loading them, my changes that i make and upload dont take effect because their computers just pull the cached files from the last time they viewed it. This is critical for my site to work because of the amount of text updating and news that i do on it.
I've just started to learn about how xml and flash can work together and how to load external files into a swf. Right now im somewhat stuck though. I need to load a jpg into the swf, show the load status and then load another jpg right away.
I have a movieclip that contains TextFields containing XML data, when I trace the height of the MovieClip externally, the original height (before the XML is loaded) is returned.How can I get the new height of the MovieClip, (I am trying to align the Movieclip vertically to the centre of the stage)?
I have an XML file with a list of photos. I have loaded the XML file into Flash (CS3 / AS 3.0) and I am iterating through the list to load the photos. The problem is only the last photo displays. I would like to load each photo and then create a movie and "copy" the loaded content into the movie clip. Here is my code:
Everything appears to work correctly, my images are loaded and land on the stage where I want them, but I can't drag them. It seems like the event listener (that i've highlighted) isn't being applied. As a side note, I've done this same thing with loading items from the library, and it works. I copied a lot of the the code from my test project to this one and when I load the bitmaps instead of pulling them from the library, it breaks.
package { import flash.display.MovieClip; import flash.display.Bitmap; import flash.display.Loader; import flash.events.*; import flash.net.URLRequest; public class Main extends MovieClip { [Code] .....
I'm about to start a project where there will be a Flash application where the visitor customizes a profile with externally loaded images and texts. Then the visitor needs to be able to download that profile as a dynamically created swf with all that external content baked into the swf.
I'm just starting out with AS3 and this is what I'm trying to do:
1. I have an external .swf banner which is 900x250 pixels
2. I want to load this .swf into my main project, using this code:
var myLoader:Loader = new Loader(); addChild(myLoader); var myRequest:URLRequest = new URLRequest("ptp.swf"); myLoader.load(myRequest);
3. The problem is that the .swf banner that is being loaded has content 'outside the stage' so instead of just showing the 900x250 area I see all the off-stage content as well.
How do I 'mask out' the off-stage content of the loaded .swf so that it will be only the 900x250 that I want?
how I resize (or tween-resize) the size of a flash movie depending on its content.[URL]When you click on a new page, the stage size resizes depending on how large the page is.Do I have to use javascript to do this (because I can't find the javascript on the pier website to take a look at it).Or can I do this with actionscript?
I was wondering if there is a way to make the actual stage dynamic to the content loaded in the flash file.
Firstly the method I am using is importing a external swf to the stage into a container called container. The main stage, lets call it index, is still on default size, and I want this to expand dynamically as content is loaded in. page1 may be 900px width, page2 may be 500px width, and as I load the content the index stage should expand the width to that of the page loaded. Some steps I have tried but did not work.
if page1 button is pressed stage.stageHeight = 900; - not working (how do I set stage size in as3)made a movieclip in page 1 spanning the page size and called it p1_stage so I can reference the data from there. trace(container.p1_stage.height); gives this error: TypeError: Error #1010: A term is undefined and has no properties. at index_fla::MainTimeline/frame1()
I have a heck of time here with an issue. I have an xml document that when a certain button on the stage is clicked it loads it's corresponding external swf into an empty movieclip on the stage. This empty movie clip is a holder for all external swfs.So what I'm trying to do is when an external swf is loaded that has buttons on it, I need those buttons to communicate with the main timeline and remove a mc that is on the Stage. I need the currently loaded swf(s) to be able to do this.So whatever the currently loaded external swf is that's loaded, I need it to talk to the main timeline. (I have quite a few external swfs that need to do this) So I imagine I need to somehow target the currently loaded external swf to get it to talk to the main timeline.The code below in summary doesn't work but it doesn't give errors either. I don't pretend to know what I'm doing and I haven't been successful in searching for a solution to this particular issue.
// main timeline object var index:Object=this; function loadComplete (e:Event) {
How to remove a loader and its content using removeChild or any other way, I had removed the loader but its content still playing in the background i know that from the sound of the content.this is the my code for removing:
I am in the process of building a site for an Architect... Jamie Fobert Architects (projects) I am useing transitions between the projects and am loading details/text and images externally through flashvars, php and a mySQL database. Within my transitions I have a a preloader on the forst 2 frames the code is as follows (taken from a Voetsjoeba tutorial):
[Code]....
This works pretty well if the content is within the .swf, but when it is loaded externally it doesnt preload it at all. Does anyone know how I can adapt/improve this preloader? or somehow ensure that all the content being loaded externally is loaded before the transition plays?
I have two files with two different classes: example1 (example1.as) and dd_title_list (dd_tile_list.as).This is a drag and drop script and I want to basically print (trace) the "label" and "source" whenever an object is dropped on "ddt_sel1" (this object is located on example1.as)
on dd_title_list: ActionScript Code: tl.dataProvider.addItem( _ic.data ); for(var i in _ic.data) {
That's the correct syntax for this? I want to be able to dynamically write to several textfields that exist on the stage but have not been dynamically placed there.
I have a sliding thumbnail gallery which when a thumbnail is clicked loads an external .png into a container with an instance name of mycontainer which I have on the stage in the .fla. Its added like such: When the Loader's (which I gave an instance name of imgLoader) complete event is called the function onLoaded loads it -like this: mycontainer.addChild(imgLoader);
I also added a mask(stageMask2) to mycontainer which is the same size as the external .png--I then used this code imgLoader.mask=stageMask2; to mask the .png. I did this because I added a zoommc function which enlarges the imgLoader and wanted to keep the visible size of the container the same. I would also like to be able to drag the zoomed image. I don't want to drag mycontainer as it contains the mask and I cant drag the imgLoader as it doesn't have that property--Do I need to put the imgLoader in another container?
Here's the problematic code: var stageMask2:Sprite = new Sprite(); stageMask2.graphics.beginFill(0x183045,0); stageMask2.graphics.drawRect(swfX,swfY,604,403); stageMask2.graphics.endFill(); var closeWin:TextField=new TextField(); [Code] .....
Trying to make a custom scroller which works but the odd thing is that when i drag the scroller to the bottom, the content scrolls the opposite way. So when the scroller is at its start point,the content is at its end point and when i scroll it to the end point the content reverses to the start point. Here is what I'm using
Code: var scrollLower:Number = -92; var scrollUpper:Number = 39; var textLower:Number = -92;[code]....
I have a base that contains a load movie action loading "drag_bar.swf" into an mc called "content".drag_bar is a drag menu i created. It works when its opened by itself but doesnt work once it has been loaded into the base file.I know its because the AS in it contains the word "root" but when i changed it to "this", it still didnt work.
Is there a way to put borders around the (MXML) elements of a Flex application? I'm picturing something similar to what Firebug does for HTML with the Inspect button (url...)
