ActionScript 3.0 :: MOUSE UP Outside Swf Firefox Mac

I am having difficulty trying to find a work around for Firefox on Mac not detecting MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP outside of the browser.I have a slider that uses startDrag and uses MOUSE_UP listener added to the stage. All works well in all browsers, however Firefox on Mac does not seem to support a MOUSE_UP event outside of the swf (provided the mouse down occured within the swf), if the user mouses up outside and then moves the cursor back in I'm not able to call the drop slider function and stopDrag the slider.

These issues only appear on Safari and Firefox on Mac.I tested with Opera and Chrome and Windows (inc. IE), but they work fine.

AS2, Flash CS4. We're using ExternalInterface to get callbacks from JavaScript for mouseover and mouseout when the user rolls on or off the .swf on a page. This works fine in all situations except for one:If the .swf is viewed in Mac Firefox, and if there is a button or mc near the edge of the stage with an onRelease() event, when you mouse from outside of the .swf into the button, the mouseover fires correctly; but when you mouse out from the button and continue outside of the .swf, mouseout never fires.We have built a small, simple testbed with only minimal code and assets (ExternalInterface code and a button). Question regarding runnning mouse scroll action in Firefox, I have a rotating menu which uses mouse scroll to rotate a wheel, it works in IE7 great but when view in firefox the mouse scroll does not work!

I'm now convinced there is some sort of mechanism built into Firefox that seems to turn off the mouse event handlers in flash applications on the html page when the user scrolls the page or does any other sort of mouse interaction with the web page itself. This issue does not arise in IE (go figure that one) or chrome, but does seem to arise in Safari as well. I'm sure theres probably something I need to do to the html to make sure the flash mouse events are always active and superseding whatever mouse events are built into the browser. At first I thought it might be because the one nav bar i did was rather complicated with lots of layers and AS on multiple frames, but when I did a much more simple navbar with only 1 frame of AS, i still run into the same issue.

I'm building a flash app that will go full screen. I need to ensure it's usable at a variety of resolutions.I can overlay them fine, but the problem is I now can't interact with the app, because when I click on some part of the UI, it thinks I'm clicking on the image, since it's technically in front. I want the image to be in the front at a visual level, but without it having any bearing on the keyboard/mouse interaction with the app.My fall back is to create a series of 1pixel wide lines, which will still be in the foreground mouse/keyboard wise, but I can cope with losing that much interaction ability.

works perfect on my macbook pro (safari, firefox, and opera) but when I view the site on Vmare Fusion Windows XP and use IE and FireFox the pages don't load... I don't know what to make of this. Has anyone hear or seen anything like this happen before? BTW the website was created in Adobe Flash CS4/ AS 3.0 and published using Flash Player 10.

Im going out of my mind trying to find a workaround to the supposedly well known ff bug [URL] regarding MouseScroll Events when wmode is set to transparent. I've spend a good part of a day googling for solutions, but nothing seems to work.
The majority of fixes are focused on the issue of being able to scroll down/up on the page, but im using the scroll to zoom in/out. An example can be seen here (its still a prototype so if anyone gets tempted to click on a box stay with nr 1 or 2 )[URL]
It works fine in IE (though im still working on making the zoom more elegant and smooth), but in FF, Chrome etc it wont work.

i recently doing a custom scroll bar with mouse wheel,i succes to make it scroll and wheel in internet explorer, but when it come to firefox, it can't wheel but can scroll. I wonder how can i solve this problem.Here is the script ( it actually the tutorial from kirupa, i remember some people have post it before, but i wonder he/she can wheel in firefox.)

I have designed a menu that When you mouse over it, a custom cursor appears. When you mouse down it disappears and when you mouse up it returns. If you happen to mouse down and then drag the mouse off of the menu (whilst in mouse down) and then mouse up outside the menu, the custom cursor disappears. All good. The only issue is: If you happen to mouse down on the menu and then drag the mouse off of the menu AND off of the stage, i.e the SWF (whilst in mouse down) and then mouse up completely off of the stage, the custom cursor appears at the point it left the menu. I have tried to fix this using MOUSE_LEAVE but this dosnt work when the mouse button is pressed down. I have attached an FLA, SWF and the AS below.

I've spent about a day on this... Publishing a swf for AS3/FP9, following the example in the ActionScript 3 documentation to get two-way communication between a SWF and javascript. Works great in IE.
I've sifted through what seems like a million posts on the subject, with people getting the same result... the function I/they are attempting to call doesn't exist.
In the documentation example, there's a function to find/return either the SWF as an object or embed tag depending on which browser you're viewing the page in.

I'm having issues with a flash animation that I made displaying correctly in Firefox 3 on Windows Vista. It only shows up incorrectly on this browser. It works fine in Firefox 2 and 3 on Windows XP, Safari and Firefox 3 on Mac, and Internet explorer 6 and 7 on XP and Vista.
Does anyone have any information on Firefox 3 and windows Vista in relation to bugs with flash animations?

I have uploaded a swf but when viewed in Firefox, the swf does not work. However, the swf does work in IE.
I used Flash MX 2004 to export the swf.
Anyway, my firefox can view other websites with flash properly so the problem is definitely with my swf.

I have a very simple piece of code but it has one very annoying bug. When I press the button a second time, the code doesn't work. The only way to get the code to work is by moving the mouse a tiny bit, or moving the mouse off the button and back on. make a button that can be clicked many times without moving the mouse?

I have a movie clip I am using as a button (instance name btn1) and I added an event listener to it (using the following line): btn1.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_OVER, animate1); the function "animate1" triggers some small animation when the mouse is over the movieclip. my problem is that the animation is triggered both on mouse over and mouse out events.

It has been awhile since I have worked in flash.Right now I am working on something where I would like a panel to disappear when someone mouses off the stage.stage.addEventListener(Event.MOUSE_LEAVE, leaveHandler); It usually works fine but if I move my mouse really fast it doesn't fire. I have also tried the same thing using a custom invisible button that surounds the perimeter of the stage and I have tried ROLL_OVER and MOUSE_OVERand again, if I do it too fast my event doesn't fire (I am using trace)I can't find anything on the net about this - is this typical of flash that if you move your mouse too fast you break it? Do I need to increase my frame rate (I would really rather not because I have perfectly timed animations - I am at 30 frames per second)

I have a flash that has a background symbol that responds to CLICK event. On top of that symbol I have a sprite that contains a Bitmap with transparent pixels. Both of them are added to the stage, so they are not related directly.
I want clicks on the transparent pixels on the sprite to go straight through to the background. I have read about mouseEnabled / mouseChildren but have not been able to make these work. The symbol ignores the mouse events when I use them, but does not pass it along as if its transparent.
Is this possible to do with flash? Or will I have to re-route mouse events?

As of Flash 10.2, Flash supports hardware accelerated mouse cursors:[URL]..Unfortunately, the mouse cursor doesn't update until AFTER the mouse moves. You can see this behavior on the web page above. If you click "Set to custom cursor" in the sample app at the bottom of the article, you'll see that the cursor doesn't change until you move the mouse.
Anyone have a trick for updating the mouse cursor immediately, before the user moves the mouse? I tried doing Mouse.hide(); Mouse.show(); but that doesn't work.
