In my actionscript I have a button that sends the playhead to another scene. The scene has a movieclip that I want to run as soon as it is accessed but I can't get actionscript to run the video clip.
I insert to timeline modified to movie clip intro. First of all I want close automatically intro. Second of all I want delay start webpage after intro. I tried many options, but without good result. Below I show my as2 in frames.
I have been playing with this idea for a few hours and now I'm completely miserable,I have two movieclips, mc1 & mc2. mc1 is palying a simple animation.I want to write a script so that when you rollover mc2, it checks mc1's frame number. if mc1's frame number is for example "10", it should play its own animation. otherwise is should wait until mc1 reaches frame "10" then play mc2 animation.
I want to make a countdown with a movieclip and timer... Example: I have a car as movieclip and it has to start driving @ 11-02-2011 at 09:00 and stop @ 12-02-2011 at 06:00. And when you close the page and re-open it again it doest start over but keeps driving the time it has to be.
I have a drawing effect animation (around 200 frames) which is in a movieclip within a movieclip (_level2?). When I run this swf I want the movieclip to start playing even if it is not fully downloaded, like it would if the animation frames were in the main timeline. How can I do this? At the moment it waits for the whole movieclip to download before it plays. I want it to start and play as it downloads.
how do you start movieclip dynamic? like start a movieclip ONTOP of another on like this site.[URL].. Does anyone have a tutorial or something like it ..?
Clicking a button to start the current movie clip playing. In the following example, playButton is the instance name of the button, and this is a special name meaning "the current object":
I have a problem animating the preloader of the site I've been working on. I want a movie clip (a dark grey rectangle) to start at width = 0 and then extend to the width of the stage. But it just doesn't move, it preloads perfectly but doesn't really extend with the progress event.
Here's the code: loadBar_mc.width = 0 var l:Loader = new Loader(); l.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(ProgressEvent.PROGRESS, loop); l.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, done); l.load(new URLRequest("Bnaider.swf")); function loop(e:ProgressEvent):void { [Code] ..... [URL]
I'm using a common library fader movie clip. Inside the movie clip, is another movie clip called vertFader.
The code is simple. vertFader.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP, putDown); vertFader.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, pickUp); stage.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP, putDown); function pickUp(event:MouseEvent):void { vertFader.startDrag(false, new Rectangle(-6.3, -50, 0, 100)); } function putDown(event:MouseEvent):void { vertFader.stopDrag(); }
Here's my problem, everything works great except that vertFader doesn't drag. It will start the drag if I click it. It will also stop the drag if I click again. But if I click and hold the mouse button all day it will never start dragging. I'm not sure if it's a lag issue, or because I'm using a wireless mouse?
I have a game with multiple levels, which is working as I want it to. I would like to add just one extra bit of functionality. As each level starts, I would like a movieclip to play and then disappear after a second or so. The movieclip will just say "level 1", "level 2" etc, without any interaction. Ideally it will appear as the level loads, and then fade out to disappear.
My animation contains a button which 'hovers' or 'lightly floats' on the stage. The object and motion tween creating the 'hover' is in a movieclip which I then applied to a button symbol. When I test my swf and scroll over the button, the motion tween within the button skips back to the beginning. Is there a way to get a smoother transition?
PS. I put the button into a movieclip with the a motion tween and it doesn't seem to work properly.
i am making a quiz. My problem is that once the user completes the quiz and wants to start again the quiz is already on the last question. How do i make it so that once the user clicks start again the questions and answers arrays start from the beginning, sort of reset themselves.
I'm trying to broaden my horizons with it and so I'm trying to do an update of a quiz program my employer has. Everything has worked well, except for the timer. The button that starts the game has two options, "study" or "exam"; if the study is selected, there is no countdown, just the score keeper. If the exam option is selected, the timer is show (counting up). But, press "Start" and while the quiz begins, the timer, in either case, does not.
I'm going to post the actionscript for the timer that was already there, as well as the start button. I'm hoping someone can explain how this timer is supposed to work and why it's not; and where the disconnect lies in pressing the start button and making it run.The timer is embedded in a movie clip, with two dynamic text boxes, that are for some have no instance name; and actionscript spread out over several frames.Frame 1:
I have an over_mc on the stage that is set up for MouseEvents, everything seems to work the way I want until i move the mouse off the area before the movie slider_mc has finished playing. After that the movie only jumps between the start and end of the animation and none of the frames between. slider_mc is a MC with 30 frames and a motion tween. Frame 1 is labeled "start" and frame 15 "middle" with stops(); on both frame 1 and frame 15 in the AS layer. slider_mc is an arrow that moves across the stage and stops on a mouse over, it moves off the stage in on a mouseout.
How do you make a movieclip move horizontally from the start of the stage to 3/4 of the stage. Stage size is 700 px by 600 px i want just one row in the middle of the stage. i want that movieclip to disappear right after it reach the end of the 3/4 mark.
i have a flash clip that i am trying to imbed into a joomla website of mine, and the problem is that it doesn't auto-start. If i open the swf file it will show a blank screen until i right click play or ctr+entr, on the website it simply doesnt show the flash. here is the link to the swf file [URL]
We have some problem with the speed of our website. That's why we want to start a preloader when those pages will be opened by our visitors. Example of page were we want the preloader[url]...it's the first 'round' preloader and the class code is under the preview. We want to start this preloader when the file mobiledescription.php will be opened.

I am creating an animation with very few controls for a presentation and it requires adding sound. I have my intro in the first frame with one sound and then want the user to click anywhere to start the animation and another sound.The problem I am having is sound control.No matter what I try the sounds overlap. I have managed to stop the first sound when going to the next frame - the animation, but the second sound now will not start. The first sound is called in from the library with the below code:
var snd = new Sound(); snd.attachSound("Tune"); and stopped when going on the next frame with:
i have an ad that when the page loads, it can have 15secs of animation and then stop. the animation can only be started again if the user rolls over the ad but has to stop and go back to the end of the animation if they rolls off the ad.
i know the basics of Flash and the part that's giving me the trouble is the roll off the ad.
I wish to be able to play a voice sound every 3 minutes. I have the sound in "mp3' format and need to repeat the message every 3 minutes.
[Code]...
The actionscript 3.0 I wrote makes the sound once but that's it. I have the "Loop" on but it only runs once. I need a Timer also but until I can get the sound goes its a mute point.
I decided to start working with XML since it allows me to load assets externally and edit my applications later very easily without having to edit the fla file itself. So today I watched and read a few tutorials and now I'm trying to build an Event Scroll, all through XML and AS 3.0 code. Basically what I want is to have several events inside a movieclip which I will incorporate into a scroll pane when I'm done, for now I'll focus on extracting data from the XML file and parsing it with AS 3.0. The layout is simple: a thumbnail image on the left, and beside it on the right there is the title of the event, its date and some info about it and all of these should have a dark grey background while the text is in white. Each two events are 30 pixels apart and there are 5 events for now.
I'm quiet new to Flash and I'm trying to make some lines grow. I have lines that cross each other and how to get this to work. I want the lines to start with nothing and then grow. [URL]
