ActionScript 3.0 :: Child To Be Visible On Frame 1 Ever?

I have a child (an external swf) that I'm adding on frame 2 of my main timeline. It will load, but I have another issue. My timeline navigation is designed as such that the viewer can return to frame 1 after viewing frame 2. I don't want the child to be visible on frame 1 ever. Obviously, I can't simply use removeChild, because I haven't yet added it when frame 1 is reached and so I get a null object reference. I've also tried playing around with the visibility property of the child, but with no luck. I feel like I'm missing an obvious solution here. What should I do?

I'm converting to AS3 from AS2 and I really love the whole display list concept. I have some movie clips and components that appear and disappear based on some user button clicks. In AS2 I would just turn the visibility of my various display objects on and off, but I'm wondering if there are any memory/performance advantages to adding and removing the display object from the display list to accomplish the same thing.

If there an object is placed on the stage named square and with the document class Main an object was added to square with addchild,if I wanted the square to not be visible but still be the parent while the new object added to square was made visible, how would you accomplish that?
My Trials: It seems if you set the parent to false visibility and then try to set the child visibility to true it disregards that request because the parent visibility overrides it, so the entire movieclip object remains completely invisible.It seems you can make a child become invisible while the parent is visible, but I want to do the opposite.

Is there anyway a Dispaly Object can make its parent invisble = visible=false,
But the child remains visible?
Just trying to save on re-writing a batch of code so its the normal parent child relationship.

Let's say I have a canvas with a fixed height and a vertical scroll bar. And the canvas has 10 children in a vertical line (like a VBox) whose combined height exceeds the height of the canvas. Based on the scroll bar position, only some of the children will be visible at a time.Is it possible to determine which children are actually visible? Or whether or not a specific child is visible on screen?

I want that the s:VGroup container has the height only of its visible children. In this example there is a free space even the visibility mx:HorizontalList is set to false. Every time I change the visibility of the child element I want that the parent (s:VGroup) will change his height. How to do this in flex?

I have a flash movie in an aspx page. I use this to play some mp3 files. Now, the problem is that when the user click on a button I send a variable (the name of the song) to the aspx page which in retun creates a postback. Due to the postback my flash movie is reloaded, go to the starting frame(1) and the mp3 preview frame is not visible. Is there any way that I can stay at the last frame?

This time I'm experimenting with visibility. All the tutorials online vary a lot. I'm trying to find something noob proof. I have actionscript 2 and 3. I'm not sure which one to use..I'm just trying to learn how to make a frame become visible and Play when I click on a movieclip.

I understand that in order to make it consume less CPU cycles flash player forces the player to only execute at 2fps (or some other ridiculously low amount) when the swf is no longer in focus (or even if it's still "in focus" but not being rendered to the screen by virtue of being in a section of the browser window that's scrolled offscreen.) Is there any possible way to change this? I have a 3D engine that needs to keep the FR up.

I know i could just place it on a new keyframe on frame 2 but then i can't get the AS on frame 1 to control it and i don't want to duplicate all my code. I have a flash homepage using xml with different pages placed on different frames. I want to add an xml photogallery on frame 4 so that it only appears on that page on the homepage. The photogallery is made in another flash also using xml. When i try to load the gallery it either appears on all pages or on none at all. what code can i use to make the gallery load on fram 4 in my flash.

I want to click on an object and make it appear and disappear. As the object is rectangular, I figured putting a white button the same size on a white background on a layer underneath the object would do this, but I can't seem to make it happen.I'm a complete novice, frustrated as I've been trying to achieve this all day and I'm sure it should be pretty simple, but could you give me the idiots guide. I know how to name an instance, make an object, script in actions on a separate layer. I would like to draw the button myself and give it an instance rather than drag it off the button component (as I can't work out how to make the component button white, change its size etc.!)

This is just a stripped down version of my problem that im using for troubleshooting purposes. I thought id try and make up a basic script to get the core of it working and then apply it to the file that im having this problem with later just to simplify things.So what im trying to do here is that ive got a MovieClip in my library called mc_brian that ive exported for action script with the class of Brian. The mc_brian movie clip has 2 frames, both with stop actions on them.So ive created my variable newBrian and loaded the Brian class into it, positioned it and added it to the stage via the addChild display object.Then im assigning newBrian an instance name and tracing the instance name, which of course returns "brian1":

I have these lines of code on frame 55 on the Main Timeline that generates the contact Form :

My problem is, that I want the contact Form to be deleted everytime I change the frame means --> everytime I go to another subpage of the homepage.
So I would need a script to check for instances of the contact Form class on every subpage-frame and to delete them if present.

I have a character that I want to animate. Now each part of his body is a separate movieclip. What I want is that, for example, if you imagine the shoe MovieClip, I want to give it three frames - from the front, from the side, and bent.
So when I animate the character MovieClip, I would like it if I could keyframe the currentframe of the shoe MoveiClip, if that makes any sense. It's easy enough to do in ActionScript, but the problem with that is the change isn't visible until I test the movie, and when animating it's useful to see exactly what the character looks like at each frame. Is there any way of setting the current frame of child MovieClips when animating?

I am attempting to build a site using load movie commands. I have a navigation movie with 4 buttons, on the press of each button I uesd this script.

this loads an animation and plays into the news reader. on the press of a button to go back I have loaded a seperate back animation using this script

The problem I now have is I want to remove this clip at the end of the animation and return to the root navigation.
