ActionScript 3.0 :: Remove Object Based On Tween Status?

Mar 12, 2010

When the yellow_btn is clicked the function explosion is executed. This function displays an object called spark on the stage and makes visible a video clip called house_mc which was previously hidden.

I use a tween to fade the house video into view gradually as it plays and that brings me to my dilemma. When I start this tween I want the spark object to disappear from the stage. To do this I assigned a variable name of endit to my tween and am adding an Event Listener to endit to determine when the tween starts, at which point I want to execute the function stopSpark and remove the spark image from the stage. The code doesn't give me an error but the spark continues to display during and after the video has finished.

yellow_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,explo sion);
function explosion(e:MouseEvent):void
{
addChild(spark)

[Code].....

ActionScript 3.0 :: Flash Presentation - Motion Tween To Control Object Status?

Feb 3, 2009

I made a little flash presentation where a bulb increases in brightness as the mouse goes over it and decreases as the mouse goes out. I set up the object on the stage and created a motion tween equal to 30 frames in which the object starts dull and increases in brightness. To control it, I made this little script:

ActionScript Code:
stop();
addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, startScan);
mcBulbLit.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP, startShow);
function startShow(event:MouseEvent):void {
gotoAndPlay(31);
} function startScan(event:Event):void {
[Code] .....
For some reason the bulb only goes back one frame and then stops at that frame.

How do I go about creating a socket based status reporting system for an AIR app? What I have in mind, is you connect to the app via socket connection with some sort of terminal. It presents you with a list of options, you issue commands back, and it reports back any stats and messages. (This is for an app running on a remote kiosk, connected via 3G.)

Actionscript 3 :: Flash - Tween The Width Of Object Without Moving The Object?

Feb 23, 2012

I am trying to do a apply a tween for the width property on a MovieClip Object but every time it changes the width and the position too, and I don't want that. I want to change the width going to one side without changing the x and y of the object.

I tried both of thes and they gave the same result.

var c:Tween = new Tween(left, "scaleX", Strong.easeOut, 1, 1.5,20,true);
var c:Tween = new Tween(left, "width", Strong.easeOut, 20, 200,20,true);

I think it is applying the transformation according to a center of the movie clip. but I don't know how it can be changed.

I need a way to make the movie clips unique so I can tell my oncomplete function to remove the property clip, if I don't do this the movie will eventually slow down and crash because of so many (invisible) movieclips.

ActionScript 3 :: Remove Tween Before Motion Finish Via MovieClip

Dec 17, 2011

I've been fumbling with this issue for a bit. I've got a lovely little tooltip movieclip that follows the user's mouse for a few seconds before it removes itself. My problem is that if there is one already there I remove it, however, I cannot seem to remove the Motion_Finish event and it still fires and possibly deletes a new tooltip. What I want is to essentially put in a line item such as:
var tween(smallhelp_panel).deleteAll();
I saw a tweenlight function killtweensof(mc); However I've used the tweens I've incorporated below throughout my 30k lines of AS3 code.

Here is my tooltip handler. I call it with a simple
Main_Warning("Please don't forget to save!",5);
My movieclip is a 'smallhelp_panel' and I check if it already exists and remove it. However, the alpha and MOTION_FINISH tweens still exist and cause issues with any new smallhelp_panels.
public function Main_Warning( the_text:String, myTimer:int = 4){
if(smallhelp_panel != null){
stage.removeChild( smallhelp_panel );

Actionscript 3 :: Tween Dynamically Created Object Along With Other Object?

Jan 24, 2011

I'm trying to dynamically addChild a Sprite to an already tweened MovieClip (tweened on the Flash timeline).
Let's say ObjectA is the tweened object, I published it in my swc and linked it to my Actionscript project in Flash Builder. I make an instance of ObjectA in my class, and then try to do the following:

var objectA:ObjectA = new ObjectA();
var objectB:ObjectB = new ObjectB();
objectA.addChild(objectB);
addChild(objectA);

Now, the problem is, objectB doesn't tween along with objectA. Is there any logical solution to this?

ActionScript 3.0 :: Shoot An Object And Create An Arc Based On An Angle

Sep 21, 2009

I found a basic example of how to create something that'll shoot an object and create an arc based on an angle. I added a power Bar to it, but I noticed something bad about it.

The way it works the higher the speed is the further it goes and the faster it moves across the screen. This doesn't give me enough control. Because essentially I want fast moving projectiles but I want to also be able to shoot both near and far.

With this current system that's an impossibility.. Can anyone shed some light on how I can do this better? Here's the current way it's being done (important parts):

Code:
bullet = new Bullet;
this.stage.addChild(bullet);
bullet.speed = 1 + powerBar.scaleX * 20;

IDE :: Shape Tween From 1 Object To 2?

Aug 9, 2009

I am trying to shape tween from a simple vector object to a number of complex vector objects, but the same problem occurs when trying to go from one simple object to two.

Instead of slowly/smoothly splitting the initial object into two, it just copies them and they move apart from each until reaching the final two object forms. As if this wasn't bad enough, they are also connected by a random straight line. Ugly.

I guess I can understand why this happens, but is there no way to tell it to make the transition in another way? Shape hints tend to make the problem even worse.
