ActionScript 3.0 :: Remove Objects Via RemoveChild After Tweenlite Has Finished Tweening?
Oct 11, 2011
I'd like to remove objects via removeChild after Tweenlite has finished tweening. But it doesn't really work because my objects are still in the DisplayList.
Code:
//TweenLite.to(sndText, .5, {alpha:0, onComplete:removeChild, onCompleteParams:[sndText]});//does not really work; still in DisplayList
TweenLite.to(sndText, .5, {alpha:0});
TweenLite.to(musicText, .5, {alpha:0});
TweenLite.to(sndSlider, .5, {alpha:0});
I've recently made the move from Tweener to TweenLite (about time) and am wondering if its possible to pass more than one object into a tween like I could with tweener.
I would like to know if I can get an error or some other problems when I try to tween several objects like this and using an onComplete-property:[code]:What I want to do is fade out several objects at once and when they finished a special function gets called. Are there other possibilities when using tweenlite available or do I have to use timelinelite?
I'd like to remove objects via removeChild after Tweenlite has finished tweening. But it doesn't really work because my objects are still in the DisplayList. I can't figure out the problem so I would be very happy if someone could help me out with this problem.

I am making a title sequence to a flash site. I load the sequence with addchild. After the title is finished I want to unload the title and play a function.
How can I unload the title movie once its finished? I know I should use removeChild, but I only want to unload the movie after a certain time.
can we know what "eat" the most of memory in a swf ? is it possible with monster debugger? (i've just downloaded it)
my project works fine, but if i re-launch the swf when it is already launched (cmd+enter -> the swf is launched, then cmd+enter), this seems to give me an example of how it would be if i was on a very very slow computer, and this is "very" slow.So is there any possiblity to know what i can remove to save the memory?i use several tweenlite, no sound, and i load all my pages (5) that contains a very basic content, at the beginning, so during the preloading...
I'm trying to create a simple loop that adds a random number of stars, fades them out and removes them.The script I've come up with does everything but remove them, and perhaps I need a less on adding children to a stage.
I need a way to make the movie clips unique so I can tell my oncomplete function to remove the property clip, if I don't do this the movie will eventually slow down and crash because of so many (invisible) movieclips.
I'm creating visual effects using TweenLite, which currently only manages the tweens for me, can I also attach a sprite at a specific time? (using "delay")
Basically I want to use TweenLite to attach/remove sprites apart from just tweening existing objects.
As the title says, need best way to move objects in game. Always used x and y increments. Read about tweenlite and use it, very easy. So which do I use taking into account that these games can be ported to mobiles ie: which is more optimized. It's a platform type game. I will have a. A little girl that walks and climbs
b. Little platforms that slide from side to side - you have to jump on them
c. The little girl will jump
d. Little baddies will fly around the screen.
ALSO, as the girl jumps I would like it to look natural Gravity as she falls down The correct increment on x and y as she jumps. Shouldn't their be an actionscript 3 games forum
How do I do that? Writing the code in the timeline does not seem good to me in as3, nor am I sure how to do it. I saw a site with an answer but it uses the main timeline for coding. Is it okay if I use the timeline for codes like in as2 or is it considered a bad practice?
I did a file/import/video and pointed to a video on my server and this is all on the first frame. On my aa layer I have the following[code]...
As you can see, when the video finishes, it hops to frame 2 and continues to the website. What started happening on a few occasions, is the timeline would randomly jump back to frame 2 for no apparent reason. I'm assuming it's because I didn't remove the instance of the video, or something along those lines? This whole issue on;y started when I introduced the video.
i want to know if there is a method or property to tell a mc to remove its own listeners and any nested mc listeners aswell when this main mc is deleted using "parent.removeChild"i was thinking in create a class wich extends movieclip to do this , but i guesses maybe there is a method .
The following code are used to generate textboxes for my game, but I couldn't remove all of them by using removeChild. Is there a way to remove them?[code]...
i am trying to remove this movie clip when i want to play another one, i can navigate to the other movie clips but the sound that is embedded in my .swf files will not turn off off, since i have sound in several .swf files when i play more than 1 .swf movie the sound from the files will overlap each other, i have tried removeChild to no avail/This is the code i am using inside my loader timeline:
var myLoader2:Loader = new Loader(); addChild(myLoader2); var url:URLRequest = new URLRequest("images/longsfinal.swf"); myLoader2.load(url);
My code below loads my preloader dynamically before an image is loaded into the file and when it finishes I want to remove my preloader by the removeChild(); method. Whenever I try to add removeChild(); in my code my file either does not work or I get an error #2025 must be a child of the caller. Where would my code go for the removeChild to work and not have a conflict. I know I probably need some removeEventListeners as well at the bottom: My .fla file is attached it works but I just need to remove the preloader in my code after it loads my image.[code]
What I want to do is fade out several objects at once and when they finished a special function gets called. Are there other possibilities when using tweenlite available or do I have to use timelinelite?
I need to remove mc's that are stored in an array, I need to remove them when they finish a tweening effect (everything works great) only that i get to remove only 1 created mc, but i need to erase all the mc's that are on the array...
Code: for (var i:uint = 0; i < arrayMC.length; i++) { var tweenBonusY:Tween = new Tween(arrayMC[i].mcPower, "scaleY", Strong.easeInOut, pct,
I have a parent swf that loads in 6 little swfs. However, I have a button which should remove the loaders from the stage, no matter which one it is from the 6. At the moment I can only remove one of them because of the way I have coded the application. So, when I click on the button which is supposed to remove whatever loader is currently sitting on top of my parent movie, it only removes one of the loaders - the one which is named first under my resetAssets function.
I can not have: removeChild(ldr); removeChild(ldr2); removeChild(ldr3); etc.
Because only one of them is being displayed at the time and flash goes like "hey dude! where are the others you want me to remove then!?" I suppose the whole code has been built up poorly and I should loop the swfs through one loader instead of having a loader for each swf.. Then I could just remove the loader no matter what sits in there..?
Code: //imports import flash.filters.*; import flash.events.*; import flash.display.Loader; import flash.display.Sprite; var ldr:Loader = new Loader(); var req:URLRequest = new URLRequest("load_XML.swf"); [Code] .....
So, I have a file where I've added 27 movie clips to the stage using a for loop to cycle through items in an XML document. Here's the pertinent part of the code I'm using, it's AS3:
So, I end up with 27 instances of mini_mc, each named 0, 1, 2, 3, etc.
I'm trying to write code to remove them at a certain point in the movie but having problems. Here's what I'm using[code]...
I have the following code that creates and displays graphics by function called by CLICK event. Then when the user clicks on one of the created graphics it is supposed to be removed.
function putMarker(name:String, position:Number, xPosition:Number):void { /* name is selection title position is soundObj position xPostion is display object position (relative to knob position at pause point) */ var id:int = selectionMarkers.length; var lstId:int = selectionMarkers[id -
Is there a way to scale up an object from its center even if its registeration point is at the top left? can that be done using TweenMax?2. can I apply the same tween on two objects at the same time? basically what I want to do is load up an image to the stage, and then tween its scale from 0 to the original size along with another movie clip behind it that would form some sort of a border for the image. and I want to scale them up from the center.
How to make the objects in your flash move without tweening? example, I have 2 retangles and I want the 1st rectangle to move left and bounce at the edge of the scene. And the 2nd rectangle move to the same direction but not the same speed. Rectangles are: rectangle1 and rectangle2
Is there an easier way to set up 6 different similar tweens? I can't seem to get a "for" loop to work - Each of the nested clips is sitting on the main stage. The following code works, but it's way too long:
