Actionscript 3 :: Understand The Method Transition That Falls In The Matrix Class
Dec 31, 2009
I am trying to understand the method transition that falls in the Matrix Class. I am using it to copy pieces of a bitMapData. But I need to better understand what transitions do. I have a tilesheet that has 3 images on it. all 30x30 pixels. the width of the total bitmap is 90pxs. The first tile is green, the second is brown, and the third is yellow. If I move over 30pxs using the matrix that transitions, instead of getting brown, I get yellow, if I move over 60px, I get brown. If I move -30 pixels, then the order is correct. I am confused on what is going on.
I'm trying to understand the properties of the TextFormat class.[code]In the code above I defined my variable sir of type TextFormat (sir is an instance of the class TextFormat). What I want to do is to experiment some of the properties for that class.In the example above I want to make the string of type textformat class arial , align him to right, block indent=10, style bold etc.I made a switch here because I understood that function but I don't know how to integrate this to my first 2 lines of code to complete understand all properties of class TextFormat.[code]
How can I add a Squeeze transition effect between frames using the transition manager class on a simple slideshow using the goBack and goForward functions in ActionScript3? Below is the code I have so far:
stop(); function goBack(event:MouseEvent):void {[code].....
url...The interesting part is that he didn't use perspectiveFieldOfViewLH and instead he defined his own projection matrix. I'm new to the 3d programming, so after reading this explenation of projection matrix:[code]And i got the black screen. All i did was exchanging the matrix from the tutorial with this matrix. I tried to play with it for some time, but with no results. This is the matrix from the tutorial[code]
I have some data (preferably objects, insteads of string) in the flash which I want to store as table format. So that I can query them. It is not datagrid as I do not have to show them. Currently, I am use "xml class" because of the query function. However, "xml class" cannot store objects.
How can I, if it's even possible, use this transformation table provided in my question's accepted answer here in Actionscript 3 in Flash? I understand it might have something to do with Matrix, but I really have no clue if that transformation provided in the answer is possible to implement there. Is it? If so how?
i'm newbie to flash and cs5.5, i'm trying to understand the matrix class usage and trying to follow an example given in the below site,I'm following the steps given in the site but still getting an error saying"...Flash_SamplesTaglio.as, Line 341120: Access of undefined property image_mc."i've an *.jpg in the library and dragged an instance on the stage, converted into movie clip, named that instance as "image_mc". Also linked "Taglio.as" document class to that movie clip but still showing the same error.
Has anyone here ever developed a function (or general library of relevant functions) that will allow one to find the inverse of a matrix? I've searched the forum archives, as well as the internet more generally, but haven't found anything. If anyone has some leads, I hope you'll pass them along.
If I don't hear anything within the next few days, I might try to develop something on my own, but I'd hate to do so if someone has already done the dirty work.
A solution to this problem would be very useful for 3-D work or anyone doing mathematical programming more generally.
I have to take a number and figure out which "tier" it falls into.For example, let's say I have a table that has three tiers "economy" "typical" "deluxe". From 0-12 is economy, 13-20 is typical, 21-30 is deluxe. My actual table has many more levels, but this is the concept.
What's the fastest and easiest way to do that? I was going to use a switch statement starting with the highest, but it doesn't look like that can be done
private function createContent(slideData:Object):void { if (slide){
[Code]....
Now when i remove or add a slide I would like it to appear with a transition, I would like to create a separate class to put the different transitions in using tweenlite. How would I approach this the best way? So to sum up, when I add or remove a child, the transitions class gets called, it returns a transition and the slide gets animated when its added or removed.
Check out this: [URL]. I am using the built in transition class to do the movement. I notice that when two things are clicked in quick succession the movement jitters and looks awful. Also when a menu button is clicked the little white line which appears next to it moves very slowly. I assumed this was always the case but check out: [URL] there is loads of movement going on here but no jitters on my machine.

I have two classes. The Main class calls a function, which is defined in a Second class.I'm getting the following error:Error 1120: Access of undefined property myFunctionBasically, I am creating buttons in the Main class that will add a corresponding Child to an Object in the Second class (if you click one button, child x1 will be added, if you click another button, child x2 will be added, and so forth).Here's the relevant code for the Main.as file:
I have a rather silly question but as3's document class always gets me confused.I have a public method on my document class. I want to call this method from another class that is instantiated from within an object in the library of the flash file (the same one on whose document class I want to call a method).
I would like to be able to call a public method of DocumentClass from GameClass. I don't know how to do that, I tried instantiating an object of DocumentClass within GameClass which simply throws me into an endless loop and after a short while application crashes.
I have a class, my document class, called SilkRoadTweeter. as I also have a class called User.as In my User class I need to call a method called nonce() I have tried this, trace(SilkRoadTweeter(root).nonce()); But I get the error, TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.

I have tried everything and nothing seems to work. How do I do this?
I have a class called Unit. When I use this class in a .fla file, I create it by saying:
var unit00:Unit = new Unit(...);
So then it creates a gfx representation of the screen for me. I would like to have a method like this:
PHP Code:
[code]....
So how do I get this to work? I know that delete this will not work when defined inside the class. How do I target the .fla's instance name when I don't know what it will be called?
I am working on a gallery: the slider rotates the container with the images using Tweener class and easeOutCubic transition. There are 45+ images around the center of the container The movement is not smooth, especially when comparing to the way it would be with a small container. Also, and most important - A rough "snap" appears randomly in the end of the motion.
They are located in the same package and are both importing each other. I am trying to call a function from Class2 within Class1, but I don't know the syntax. I tried: Class2.godoThisThingNow(); But it gave me an error 1061, call to an undefined method. What's the proper syntax for this, and is it even possible in AS3?
From my LoadXML class I am trying to call a method, named onBackgrLoad, which sits inside the Main class. I made the method onBackgrLoad public. Inside the LoadXML class in the method ParseData I added an event listener. This is supposed to call onBackgrLoad but it doesnt work
I am trying to develop a basic game engine for a slime soccer style game where a player can move around and jump. I am still fairly new at AS3 but managed to put together this working bit of code that the game currently runs on:
Code: stop(); //vardefs var runSpeed:Number = 10;
The problem is, the "slime" mc actually falls a little bit through the grass layer. what can I do to fix this?
i have a flex app that transitions between 2 states with the toggle of a button. my issue is that the effect of fading only seems to work on the 2nd transition and after. However, for my first transition... going from State1 to studyState... there is no fade effect whatsoever, in fact the components in state1 disappear completely (the footer fills the empty gap where the "body" use to be) and then the flex recreates the studyState (without any fade refilling the "body" with components only in studyState). After this first transition however, going between studyState and State1 working COMPLETELY fine.. why does this happen and how can i make it so that crossfade works STARTING FROM THE VERY FIRST TRANSITION?[code]
I have a presentation using the "presentation" template that comes with flash. I am trying to transition slides with the behavior slide transition options. but I've learned that it works find while going into a slide and doesn't go to the next slide when leaving.So basically I want it so that on right arrow first play out transition then go to next slide.
I was trying the flickr code provided in the learnwebsite, and I am getting this exception:
[RPC Fault faultString="Error #1090: XML parser failure: element is malformed." faultCode="Client.CouldNotDecode" faultDetail="null"] at mx.rpc.http::HTTPService/http://www.adobe.com/2006/flex/mx/internal::processResult()
I create game matching things. If icon 1 == icon 2 then i delete this icons. Player finish game when he match all icons. I try give points for correct unswers. And try to calculate this poits.
