I have an .fla file with 1 image in the library and 1 .as file.I have linked the image up with the Class name of libraryImages and Base class is flash.display.BitmapData.This is my AS:

I am trying to learn how to use EventDispatcher. I create xml gallery where I am loading content via xml. In this particular case, I am not loading a sequence of multiple images. I load just one image. I traced the path to the image location and it is correct. I have a very hard time placing the loaded item to stage. I can trace EventDispatcher functions from EventDispather Class. When I do that, the trace statements confirm that the image is loaded. I am wondering what I should do in order to place the image on stage. I definitely cannot do it from EventDispatcher class directly or I am missing something. Below is my EventDispatcher class. How to add the loaded item on stage after EventDispatcher was run. Below is the class of my EventDispatcher.

Professional :: Flash CS4 Crashes When Dragging Image From Library To Stage

Everytime I'm trying to drag an image from the library to the stage, the program crashes. I've been sending the crash logs to Adobe many times, but never got any solution from them.

In the log there a line that says:
<crash exception="EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION" instruction="0x0c4feb66>
 
I'm working with 10.0.2, I thought the latest update will fix that, but it doesn't. Changing the UI from Essential to Classic doesn't help

Flash - Stage Shifts When Using AddChild?

I'm having a very odd bug with ActionScript 3 in Flash CS4. I am adding movie clips to a stage in a for loop and then moving them out of view so that I can pull them in and remove them when I need them.

I've narrowed down the issue to a point that I know that every time one of the movie clips are added to the stage using addChild(), the stage shifts to the right by one pixel. I know that sounds odd, but it's literally true... the 0 line on the y axis is shifted to the right one pixel every time the movie clip is added.

How do I make sure that a movie clip that starts on the stage has a higher zindex then when I addChild and add a linked movieClip from the library.

Really my code is pretty simple

background_image = new Sprite();
main_container.addChild (background_image);

But I have a movieClip "message_box" that I dragged onto the main timeline. When i add the background_image which is the full size of the stage it overlays the "message_box"

I know you can set the childs index but how do I set the "message_box" index?

I can't access a loaded swfs library and add children from it. My mainContainer.swf loads in index.swf, within index.swf I have a movieclip in my library named page_mc that exports with it.

I want to add page_mc to the index.swf stage from an AS file that I import within my document class of mainContainer.

I'm trying to simply add an instance of a movieclip from my library onto the stage using AS3 code. I've exported actionscripts for the movieclip in the first frame. Why does it want me to include a class name that is not being used by any other item in the library?
 
Also I call the library item like so:

What steps am I missing? It keeps saying  "1067: Implicit coercion of a value of type Class to an unrelated type flash.display:DisplayObject.

Is there anyway in ActionScript 3.0 to assign instance names to movieclips in the library without assigning linkage id? I said that because I have over 1000 movieclips in the library that I need to be able to manipulate at runtime. I hope I don't have to Right Click -> Linkage... a thousand times to assign the linkage IDs. How can I reference to the library movieclips without having to name 1000 times?

Flash :: Adding A Loaded Image With AddChild To A Masked Object On Timeline

I have a Movie Clip object with a timeline, and it has 3 layers: a layer to stop the timeline at the last frame, a layer with regular drawing with mask attribute and a layer containing a target movieclip with the instance named 'target', that is masked by the layer above.

The drawing is very simple, not even a movieclip, just vector drawing. It's supposed to show the target movieclip only on regions where the mask layer has some drawing, right?

So, I created the method to load an image, listen to the complete loaded event and add the image to the target masked movieclip, but it disappears after the first frame! If i delete the layer with the mask drawing, works fine.

I'm having a problem adding a library clip to my stage I can do no problem if I have a testFLV.fla that has a library clip called test_clip with the linkage set to: com.attach_clips.Clip.

I have a Flash CS4 Professional version installed in my machine. Here is my problem.

1st - I'm importing an image to stage and set the width and height to match the image. (everything is good, no problem) 2nd - I am using the FLVPlayback components build-in from Flash CS4. It does load the video and everything. (everything seems good) 3rd - Publish the video to my local drive (everything seems good) 4th - I could play the video from my local pc and it loads fine and fast 5th - Upload everthing from my local folder to the Web server, it does display the background image but not the video. It has a white blank screen. What is going on? I copy the exact folder from local to server. What have I missed? How could I make the video to load?

My image is a 72 dpi png file with sharpen effect , when i use [Import to stage], the image imported in the library get blurred( eye-realizable), but the image on the stage keep original quality(not blurred).I have try change library item properties ( lossless png..etc),import again but no thing different.

How can i make the library item have same quality as the image on the stage?(when i drag library item to the stage it's still blur , except the image on the stage create by [import to stage], also tried with jpeg but nothing different)

I would like to write a python script that takes a bunch of swf files and renders them to individual image files.Each swf file has just one frame (text, pictures etc.) and no animations at all. I have already tried the render command from the swftools toolset (The windows version), but the resolution of the resulting image is too low.So what I need is:Acommand line tool (Windows/Linux) or a python library which renders one frame from a swf to a bitmap or better to something like a PDF (It would be cool if the text data could be retained). It would be great if the target resolution/size could be set manually.

I have 500x500px images in my Library that I want to load to a specific set of coordinates. I've found various hints on how to insert images programatically, but none state how to insert to a specific location.Currently, my code goes something like this:

However, this sets the default location to the upper left corner. How can I set the xy coordinates for the image to be displayed at?

I have a flash file (banner ad) that uses some jpgs that I imported onto the stage. When I publish the file... It won't include the images. If the images are in the same folder as the swf.. it will work. However, just the SWF on its own will not display the images. Any ideas?
