ActionScript 2.0 :: Laoding External Images Into Movie Clips In Different FRAMES
Aug 4, 2008
I generally don't mess with the timeline, but I need to for this project. In a nutshell: user can customize a product reference sheet with her choice of crossection, footprint, etc. All those choices exist as external swfs. In order to be legible, the reference sheet must be two pages.I know how to print multiple frames with Flash. But what I cannot yet achieve is loading external swfs into movieclips on different frames, and then print that. Here's my code from a test fla:[code]Now, this code will print both frames as separate pages, but the loaded image in printArea.holder2 does not print!
I'm Making a catalog on Flash CS4 ActionScript 3.0and I don't know ho to move between movie clips using buttons and action script...In Scene 1 I have 2 framesIn frame 1 y have a movie clip (MC) and inside that movie clip I have 10 framesIn frame 10 of the MC, I want to put a button that will take me to frame 2 of my original timeline (NOT frame 2 of the MC)an some one tell me how's it done?or if it can't be done that way...then ...How do I go from frame 1 to frame 2 on my original timeline in Scene 1 after the movie clip in frame one is done?
How do I make a button on one frame (on the main timeline) tell a movie clip on another frame to go to a certain frame inside that movie clip?
To do this, if the mc's are on the same frame is easy because you just use the dot syntax or MovieClip(parent), but how would I do this if a mc is on a different frame?
I need to make some animation working without changing its structure, but I have no idea how to control mc instances on diffrent frames and diffrent movie clips. Below is example.When button is clicked, mc2 starts to play.
I have an action in a frame that controls multiple movie clips. It doesn't seem to work on clips that don't exist in the first frame. Is that a normal part of AS2.0?
I have a movie with various movie clips on certain frames.What I want is the playhead to randomly jump to different frames I specify within the movie after each Movie clip has played. So at the end of each movie clip there would be a random script forcing the playhead to play another movie clip randomly. My movie has 100 frames but I only want the random sequence to occur on the following frames 10, 13, 25, 86, 75, 56.Or If I labelled the frames how would I label them?? Would they all have to have the same label, or each label different?
Is it possible to create movie clips dynamically and add frames to them? Because say I have a game and there are NPCs, I'm not going to want to create say 50 different MovieClips manually, is there a way to do this through code?
I have a button which when pressed I need it to play a frame on the main timeline which contains a movie clip. I also want the same button to play another frame with another movie clip after the previous frame has finished playing. I have attached a sample file of what I am looking to d
I have seen flash sites that wait to load different parts of the flash file until you click on a link, thereby starting a loading graphic that then loads the content you're looking for. I can't find any information on how to do this, and I'm guessing I just can't find the right terminology.
I am learning about loadmovie.How do you load a movie on the press of a button - into a specific frame? A frame that was targeted by the button's actionscript.(Basically, I have set up a portfolio flash site. I have all of my images in the .swf so the file is larger than it could be. In the portfolio section of my .swf I have thumbnails that on pressing them go to a different frame within that clip to display the larger version of the image. Naturally, I want to load these larger images in only when the thumbs are clicked on.)
I want to dynamically attach movie to the stage. This is fine. I'm able to do it. but i want to check if the dynamic movie clipe has executed all its frames (reached last frame). as soon as this happens i want to attach a diff movie clip. Is this possible? if i use the _currentframe property, it gives always 1 as the frame. it doesnt get to last frame of the dynamic movie clip.
I have a flash movie with about 350 frames, each frame is a mixture of text and between 1 and 10 images, later on I might add some download file links, website links and videos to some of the frames. I have a menu at the top of the movie which lets you flick between each frame, so by clicking the menu button "image 20" you are taken to frame 20, click menu button "image 135" and you are taken to frame 135 and so on, very simple. I also have 2 buttons at the bottom of my movie, these buttons let you go backwards and forwards through the frames. If you are on frame 50 and click "forward" button, then you go to frame 51, click the "back" button on frame 50 and you would go to frame 49.
At the moment I simply use Actionscript Code: on(release) { gotoAndPlay(4);} Which of course would take you to frame 4.
My movie has nothing else, that's it, very simply and very little action-scripting on each button. At the moment my movie just flicks between each frame which doesn't always look very nice, so I want to change it so that the frames do a slide effect. So if you are on frame 15 and click the "forward" button, it would slide from frame 15 to frame 16, so as frame 15 slides to the left hand side, frame 16 would slide in from the right hand side. Or, if you were on frame 21 and clicked the top menu button "image 320", then frame 21 would slide to the left hand side and frame 320 would slide in from the right hand side.
And it would do the slide animation seamlessly and smoothly, I saw some examples online which didn't look very smooth when doing a slide, so it would be good if I could make it as smooth as possible during animation. I have search around online and the only examples I can find are image galleries, which seems to have action-scripting far beyond my capabilities at the moment, or they work in a way that is not any good for what I want to do. I use action-scripting 2, but I could change this to action-scripting 3, I am also using CS4.
I have a menu bar that has 2 Drop down menus. Each drop down is a separate movie clip, with 3 buttons inside that are separate movie clips. I have a class set to the buttons that are movie clips for a roll over effect. But when I mouse over it does not work. Also on the main time line I tried to add a like to a web page but it did not work. But I only have this problem with the movie clips that are inside the drop down movie clips.
Why is this? How do I add roll over actions and external links to movie clips that are inside of another movie clip? I really need some help this is a problem I have been having for about a month or more. I am still a AS3 newb and this is my first time using classes. The other classes I have work with everything else, Im just having trouble with the movie clips that are inside movie clips.
I'm having an issue with placing images loaded from an XML file in placeholders within movie clip instances on the stage. It'll load an image onto stage, but only one image. I'm kinda at a loss at the moment.
I am designing a website and have for locations I would like to load a random image from the same folder. Goals we'd like to accomplish with this:
1. We want images to load randomly from same folder 2. We don't want any duplicate images on the page at any one time 3. We have different size movie clips they are loading into.
Is there a way to accomplish this? What script do I use to resize the .jpg to fit whatever movieclip it's loading into and how to I tell it not to load an image that is already loaded in another movieclip?
You can manually save some particular movie clip on a stage as an image by running "Export > Export Image". Is it possible to write an actionscript that would export all movie clips on a stage to images automatically? Or at least is there a way to automate this in any way?
I have a problem in loading pictures to duplicated movie clips. I have a dynamic sliding menu and I wanna load images to submenus. However I havent succeeded yet.
Using an XML file, I am pulling a series of JPG images from my hard drive onto the stage. Each of these images will need to have different mouse events placed on them that will take the user to another part of the movie, or perhaps to a different scene.
The attached code successfully pulls the images to the stage -- as JPG images -- and spaces them. What i need to do is make each of them a button or movie clip, each with a specific action (information which can be gleaned from the XML).
Eventually, I'll need to show images from this XML file based on user-selected criteria via some check boxes. And I'll also need to build some kind of "show next 9 images" and "show previous 9 images" functionality.
i am loading JPG images into movie clips, then drawing a border around them with this code:
Code: var frameColor:Number = 0xffffff; var lineThick:Number = 1;[code]..............
i am resizing the movieclips (and thus the contained pictures) down to 160 x 120, but those pixel values didn't work in my lineTo statements. i multiplied them by 3, using 480 and 360 and it works better. however, the behavior isn't consistent. i am attaching a picture so you can see how the border is too tall on some of the images.so, is there a better way to use pixel dimensions with lineTo? does the scaling factor between flash vector units and pixels change between movieclips depending on what content i load into the movie clip?
I'm dynamically loading images from a JSON feed into individual movie clips and then adding the clips to the stage(both by addChild)--basically creating thumb tiles. I've added a click handler to do something when the MC is clicked. WHAT'S MY PROBLEM: The problem I have is that the MC is clickable, but the content is not. For instance, the clip has a white box in it, and the loaded image is made slightly smaller and centered to give a white border around the pic. An empty clip loaded to the stage works fine, and the white border around the image is clickable, but the image is not.
I am building a project that loads 30 images in to empty movie clips. I want one of the images to apear on top randomly. What is happening now is that the first swf in my loop always shows up on top.Here is a link to waht i am doing:Here is some code i am working with:
Code: // Random range function randRange(min:Number, max:Number):Number {
I have my files set up to where a main swf has the main navigation and a container which draws each sub page into it. The sub pages have a navigation as well that was telling buttons where to go on the main movie timeline (with _level0.) I had to move my navigation down in the main swf file so i took the nav off the main timeline and put it in a movie clip so i could move all at once. Now my sub pages on external swfs with _level0.gotoAndPlay("frame"); dont work.
Is there any way to direct an external swf to play a certain frame within a movie clip in another swf?
I've tried changing _level0 to _level1, _root, _parent, _child, and using _root.mc_name.gotoAndPlay("frame"). none of which has worked.
Is there a way i can tell if cerain amount of frames have been loaded? what i have is actionscripted movement. i have these 2 blocks that cover the area where th emovie should be loaded. i tried
_root.container.loadMovie(section + ".swf"); _root.container.ifFrameLoaded (22)<<<<<<<i think this may be wrong _root.b1.easeY(560,4,false); _root.b2.easeY(560,4,false);
cuz i wanna knwo once certian frames on the external movie are loaded, to move the blocks back to a spot you cant seem them
I am currently trying to load a movie clip in the main SWF. Got that done.Then call and replace the first movie clip with another, got that done too.This is for a menu i am making, I am not too great in action script. I am working in AS2.Problem is after I call the second external movie clip into the main SWF, it all stops working.Is there a way I set this up that no matter what it keeps loading and unloading the external movie clips? This is what I have so far.[code]This starts with the "king_menu.swf" already loaded, i have it unload it and load "dqueen_menu.swf" to the call point named "load_king".I am guessing I need to have a universal call point for all my external movies to load and work in a random chain.
I'm creating a Flash interactive thing which is basically a couple minute animated intro and then a menu of products to choose from. You click on one of 12 products and get a little animation about how it works. So my question is where to put these 12 product animations? I was originally thinking to just put them in the main timeline and just jump to them with labels but I'm thinking that the timeline is going to get too hairy, it's already got a lot. Now I'm wondering what the best approach should be. Should I produce 12 external SWF movies to be loaded when clicked on, or should I just make each product animation an internal movie symbol and just add an instance from the library to my main timeline? Or is there any other approach that might be better for some reason?
On one of the pages, i've posted 6 pictures, and make them buttons. And when i click on them, i want to pop up a player with a FLV video clip. FLV video clips that are located on my hard drive and in the root directory of the site. I didn't want to use one of CS3 players, so i have embedded a flvplayer (JW, i think).And, for two days, i search the forums for the AS3 code to make this work, and no luck. And here, i observed that the users get help. Probably it's easy enough for AS3 users, so nobody have problems with this, and for that reason i didn't find posts with this problem. However, if that doesn't work with an external player, i'll do it with whatever player you say.
I want to have two movie clips that each have their own button leading to an external URL. Both of these movie clips have classic tweens (only making them fade in and out).If I do one, it works, but when I do two, it fails on me! The error message I always see is "TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.
at mh2_fla::MainTimeline/frame1()"
I have tried doing them in the same scene and on separate scenes (see attached).
