the think is; in the main timeline im on the frame 1 (animation stoped here), i want to pass to frame 2 but first i play a MC, who is an animation of a black square who covers all the movie that goes from transparent on his own frame 1 going to full opacity in frame 5 and then transparent again in frame 9. Well i want to pass from main frame 1 to frame 2 when the MC animation is exactly on his own frame 5
View 1 RepliesI have been trying to build a navigation that has a rollout animation but functioning internal buttons. This navigation uses the theory I'm trying to recreate, it seems simple enough but I can't figure it out for the life of me![URL] I tried this variable, but it renders the internal buttons undetectable and is very unstable midanimation (if you rollover it while in transit, the button goes crazy):

I load an external swf:nto my movieclip bill using loadMovie.inside bill.swf it has a movieclip called jon, and I load it in
View 10 RepliesIs there another (easier) way to load swf movies from the library into a movieclip other than the attachMovie function??
i originally set my flash up to load external swf files via the loadMovie command, but would now like to package the whole thing up to consist of only one file.
What is the difference bettween addChild and the movieclip which is in the movieclip.we can get those instance from getChildAt() but as per the internal movieclip we can get instance from "mc.mcInternal".But when i addChild in "mc" we unable to get that instance from this method "mc. mcInternal".what is the diffecenct between addChild and internal movieclip.
View 3 RepliesIm really struggling with controlling a movieclip (frame-by-frame images w/ stop(); actions) by using the mouses horizontal position on the main stage. So basically I want to turn my stage into a showreel of images. Lets say the stage is 50 pixels; i would want some kind of code that would divide up the total length of my m/cs timeline, in order to show the first frame of the m/c when the y-axis is at 0, the last keyframe of the m/c when the y-axis = 500.
I have tried to use rollover commands on (miniscule) hit states covering the entire stage, but there must be a better way ( i plan on updating the images m/c a lot) ie. a lovely big chunk of confusing code?
is there anyway to access the internal bitmap representation of a movieclip that has its cacheasbitmap property set to true?It would be nice if I could create vector artwork that scaled to the size of the browser and then obtain a bitmap representation of it so that I could then manipulate it on a per pixel basis for some cool visual fx.
View 1 RepliesI have an enemy movieclip.Inside that movieclip I have a motion tween so it moves around on the stage, then inside that movie clip I have an animation of his feet moving so it looks like he is walking as he moves across the stage. Also in that same animation of him walking is an image of him laying down and dying on frame 6.I just have the walking animation looping as the playhead gets to frame 5 so it won't show him dying.So what I want to know is how do I make it so when my hero shoots him with a bullet..the enemy goes to that dying image on frame 6 and stop.I can already make it so the bullet will kill an enemy if it is just movieclip>inside movieclip.But I don't know how to make the code communicate to make it work when its movieclip>inside movieclip>then inside that movieclip.
View 2 RepliesAfter reading some articles about increasing performance, I read that if you would cache your movieclip animation to a sequence of bitmaps, that this would be much faster. So after spending lots of hours I created a bitmap animation class that converts a movieclip to a bitmapanimation.When I completed it, and did a performance test with about 40 movieclips on a stage size of (1024x900) and set the frameRate to 100 fpsIt runned on 58 frames per second. (30 mb memory) But when I tested it without converting it to bitmaps by doing it the old and simple way of adding the movieclip dynamically on the stage withalso 40 movieclips, it runned even better (61 fps). (4mb) And it did not use so much memory as the bitmap approach was doing.
Then I thought perhaps I was doing something wrong with convertinh to Bitmaps, and found on the internet also a Bitmap Animation Class, and after testing this one, I got the same result. It seems to run faster if you don't convert it to a bitmap sequence.I only have experienced negative points, like slower framerates, using more memory, and the prerendering causes a calculation performance pause when compileing. (this is even with the fix to pass the already rendered frames of the movieclip to the next bitmap animatioin class) I am now confused of what is the best way of creating better pefromance when using the same movieclip animation (like 80 times at once).
I've tried a couple dozen things to try and stop this movie clip, even down to the bare bones basics and its not working.I have an imported TIFF sequence that i imported onto the stage of a movie clip. Its 73 frames long, i want it to stop on frame 73.So i add the usual stop(); command but it doesn't stop, it keeps looping.On the main layer i put this movieclip in i have an AS layer that also has stop(); and moviclip.stop();But it doesn't stop at all. it just keeps repeating.I put it down to this bare basic setup just to see if i could even stop it. But its not stopping.Layers -> and stuffScene 1Content - movieclipMCActionScript - stop(); movieclipMC.stop();Movieclip - keyframes consisting of image sequence 1-73. frame 73 has stop();
View 1 RepliesI have some bombs like this :
var sjunkBomb:Array = new Array;
for (var i:int = 0; i < sjunkBombMaxAntal; i++) {
var bomb = new sjunkbomb;[code]....
Each movieclip sjunkBomb contains an animated movieclip. When the bombs reach the bottom I want to stop the inside animation.I guess it's better to stop them so they affect the rest of the game if there are a lot of bombs. I know how to hide them with sjunkBomb[x] .visible = false; but if I want to stop them? sjunkBomb[x].stop(); doesn't work!?
I am unknown about internal in OOP. Is there any body about internal. How we can use this in pratical world
View 1 RepliesI am using button navigation, and the only way I can get it to work is to use th stop command so the buttons are the only way to navigate. My problem is I need to add an animation and because it's jumping through the applet it isn't animating, I have an animation on a new layer, but it won't play or loop, is there anyway I can get this simple animation to loop constantly in spite of the stop commands in the other laters, I have to have an animation for the project to be valid.
View 4 RepliesI can't seem to get an animation to stop looping. The only code I see for it is:
next_bt.onRelease=function(){ gotoAndPlay("fx2") }
When I test the movie layer itself it just does it once. but when i test the whole movie it just goes on and on and on.
Trying to make an actionscript that will stop an animation if you are on a certain url. Using Joomla and have a flash banner. The banner plays on every page. What I want is for the flash banner to only play on the home page and not the others.
View 5 RepliesI was just playing around with some of the samples, examples snowflakes.The problem is that I want the snowflakes in Scene 1 and I dont want the snowflakes to keep on running to Scene 2.I tried putting stop(); to the action script, that didnt worked because I will not be able to go to Scene 2.
View 1 RepliesIn this code I was playing around with my movieclip. It animates but I am trying to get it to stop when the mouse is on the movieclip. It stops but it jumps back to the start position where I just want it to stop with out jumping back.
onClipEvent (load) {
move = true;
}
onClipEvent (enterFrame) {

I have a product that I am showing call-outs on. Little dots that when rolled over trigers an animation and displays information about the feature. This in itself is no problem, I have seven of these set up as buttons that work when rolled over. However, the people I am setting this up for would like the animations to be on auto play when the user is not interacting with the flash piece within a greater page. I thought I could just build a movie clip with all of the animations compiled and let them run on a layer and then when a users curser came into view of the flash piece it would stop the movie and allow for the user to manually rollover the features.
View 2 RepliesOne slide of a slideshow I'm making I want the animation to end after it's completed without looping. I can do this by adding the stop(); command into the last frame of that slide, but if I return to that slide, it will remain in the end position instead of replaying.
View 4 RepliesI am creating a sort of "information slideshow" for a clients website where a movie clip on the main stage acts as a slideshow and when not touched by the users mouse it fades through 3 stages giving information on 3 different subjects, then when the user places their mouse over the movie on the HTML page the animation stops to allow the user to use the scroll bar on the right of the movie to scroll through the information on the subject, then when the user is finished then can move the mouse away from the movie and it will continue to play through as it did before.
i have the animation playing with the 3 seperate "states" and identical scroll-boxes for each state and im trying to think of a way to make the animation stop when the mouse is over it WITHOUT using a button, when a button is used on the top layer of the animation the scroll boxes are not useable as the button is on top of them, so i tried making a gap in the button to cater for them but then of course the mouse isnt over the button when the user goes for the scroll box and the "rollout" part of the script is activated and the movie continues to play. is there a way to make the animation stop prehaps when the mouse is over the "main automation" movie clip WITHOUT the use of a button, or what would be even better is when flash detects that the mouse is over the top of the actual .SWF itself it stops the movie.
I guess I did not finish my project yet. I have a script that will stop sound on click of the mouse, but I have a little animation running but I need to stop it with the same click of the mouse ( together with the sound) just insert stop() stop entire project and this is not good, this is a loader and it need to have ability to continue even some one shut sound of.
View 7 RepliesI created a simple animation that is 90 frames long. How can I start and stop it at specific keyframes so it takes 3 separate mouse clicks to complete. Example: a picture is on my website. When you click it, the first 30 frames play and then stop. A 2nd click makes the next 30 frames play and a 3rd click makes the last 30 frames play.
View 6 RepliesWhat I want to do is create a page that many other pages link to. This will be my index page. When it loads, the Flash movies play.But, when they return to this page after leaving it to go somewhere else on my site, I don't want the movies to play again.I thought of just having an HTML page that looks exactly like it and then linking the other pages to it, but, since there are a whole lotta pages that need to link to it, search engines might rank that dummy page more highly making it the landing page and then no one would ever visit the real index page with the animations. What to do? Here's a prototype of the page I'm talking about.
View 2 Replieshow can I stop my animtation at a certain frame. Is it only possible due setting up a timer, or can I also enter a code that stops at a certain frame? And when I stop the animation, will my buttons still be able to get clicked?
View 6 RepliesI have a banner that needs to play twice and then stop. Its 15 seconds and besides copying all the frames and pasting at the end to get this effect I want to do it with AS. Currently the animation is four mc's appearing at different frames in the main timeline. I figure using the if and else statements like if (should I create one movieclip for the entire animation and call it _mc_1) so if_mc_1 plays +++3 then stop?
View 1 RepliesI am producing a banner ad and I need to have this 15 second animation loop two times (for a total of 30 seconds) and then stop. If this does call for AS?
View 3 RepliesI am new to Flash and cannot get an FLA animation to stop on the last frame. I have inserted a blank keyframe with a "stop()" command, but this command stops the animation on a blank white frame (presumably the first frame of the animation).I am working with a rebuilt FLA file (i.e., decompiled SWF file) on the latest version of Flash. In addition to Actionscript, I have tried adjusting the Publish Settings (e.g., unchecking "Loop" and setting the Flash version to 7 or 8) and editing the embed parameters (as suggested in another answer on Stack), however neither of these efforts seems to make a difference.
