ActionScript 3.0 :: Tweening Glitch - Navigating To Other Frames And Coming Back
Aug 20, 2009
So I have my function here which sets up the tween for movieClips that have images on them:
[Code]....
This code is done 20 times with different images added to two different movieClips (b0 and b1) that are waiting in the library. So, the glitch is - this function works damn near perfectly except after a while of navigating to other frames and coming back to the frame with this sometimes the b0 wont tween all the way onto the stage and sometimes not at all. And dont worry about the b0 not being described as a variable I have done this outside the button function as I was getting error messages. I have spent almost a week tooling around with this but nothing works I get the same glitches.
This is probably a completely n00b thing, but I'm trying to get a preloader to work on a gallery I made. I'd already made the gallery, and now as an after though have attempted to add the preloader. As a whole it seems to be working, except the preloader keeps coming back on itself, so I can't actually every get round to seeing to gallery I've made. I think maybe there just needs to be some kind of "stop" action put into the ActionScript within the preloader scene, but to be fair, I really don't know what I'm doing. I've followed a tutorial to the every detail, but still it doens't work. The orginal Flash file can be grabbed here: [URL]
I have a selection menu that I can select multiple items and item names are saved in an array. I also have a deselect button that delete all the items selected. To delete items, I have tried:
var errorSelected:Array = []; errorSelected.splice(0,errorSelected.length);
I can see them being deleted in trace, but whenever I click on the menu item again, the old list items come back everytime. Do I need something else to completely cleaning it up?
I'm working on a simple MP3 player and am having trouble getting ID3 tags to come back as anything other that "undefined" -- on test MP3 files that *do* have ID3 data. What am I doing wrong?
(I'm not a Flash programmer and the following code is hacked together from a variety of sources... reworked for my purposes... and with some bits created by myself.)
Note that the MP3 file to be played comes out of the URL, but in this test case it's manually set to a local file of shedrivesmecrazy.mp3 (Fine Young Cannibals).
When running this file, the following output is generated:
undefined undefined NOT AVAILABLE NOT AVAILABLE
Code: Select all// Setup sound object var s:Sound = new Sound(); s.setVolume(75);
I have several external loaded swf's in my website.For example;When in home and clicking to contact. Then contact gets a little bit smaller.When clicking back on home, home gets smaller and so on..if i repeat this process everything gets smaller and smaller..
I am using the ._height of a movieclip in my AS and for some reason one of these is coming back incorrect.It is off by 3.4 pixels.I can't see anything in the movie clip that would cause this.
what happens is I have a key, a door and a health bar and an enemy. the enemy takes off some of my health...I pick up the key and it disapears and is added to my inventory. I then us it to open door then my character can move off the screen to the next frame where there is a castle., but my health bar is full again. when I go back into the previous frame the key is back, the door is closed and I cant pass through it again until I pick up the key.
the only way I have found around this is to make sure the objects are in every frame but that only solves a few problems. one of the problems is my health bar always re-plenishes no matter what when going from frame to frame. and I still cant pass thru the door even though its open.
Have a movie clip that I've set up in my fla, but I can't seem to get it off frame 1 with actionscript: the relevant code from character.as follows.. (i've tried a few other setups but nothing seems to get it to actually go to the "walking" stage. Scaling and other manipulations are working fine. Any insights into what I might try?
Lets say i have a button on the first frame of my main timeline that leads to another frame on my main timeline. On the second frame, i have a button that has tweening animations inside it's over and down states. At the last frame of the tweening, i want to have a button that navigates to the first frame of the main timeline, and not the first frame of the tweening.
I have a navigation block set up in flash. Can someone please tell what the geturl script is to control external html pages loading into an inline frame?
In my Flex app I give the user the ability to open up a new item form ( s:Panel ) and create multiple items on the page.Sometimes for some odd reason bringing up the panel (simple task) seems to take a really long time to load (like 30 seconds or so) However, the weird thing is that if right after I click to open I navigate away from the Tab and back again to the Flex app tab it shows up right away.
I'm not sure if this has to do with refresh rate or some setting or is it general performance/memory issue with my app that I have to consider. When the application work it works fairly fast which is making me think it's not memory/performance issue.
I can get my menu buttons to move me around the timeline, but am at a loss as to how to move to a frame on the main timeline using a button within a movieclip that has it's own timeline.
So what I mean is that on the mian timeline, a movieclip graphic with a button in it drops down. This movieclip has it's own timeline, and any AS to control the button has to be in this timeline. So how do I tell it 'when the button is clicked, go BACK to frame X on the MAIN timeline?
Here's the AS on the main timeline for the menu buttons (how would I adapt it to apply to buttonX within movieclipZ?, and where would I put this extra code in my movie?):
function Nav(event:MouseEvent):void { trace("Nav "+arguments) switch(event.target.name){ case "gilbert": gotoAndPlay(72); break;
Since my project uses class actionscript files my whole game project runs on one frame and nothing is on the maintimeline so there is only just one frame on the timeline. Just wondering how I could make it so that I could have the first frame with game instructions and a description which then goes into the game being second frame and when gameover goes to third frame using actionscript. or any tutorials or some peice of advice
I condensed my problem down to the lines of code below.I think the code is pretty self explanitory. My problem is that for a reason I can't figure out, it doesn't tween the alpha back to 100. It simply snaps it back to 100 abruptly What am I doing wrong here?
Is there a way to use tweening to animate a movie clips frames? Say to move it from frame 1 to 10, etc?
I have a movie clip that will have lots of different actions (moving left, right, up, down) and so on, and I don't want them all to play--I would like the MC to just play some set of them at a time. It seems like tweening would works best for this if it is possible. If not, what is a better suggestion?
I am looking to create a slideshow with different shaped images and I wanted to create a boarder around the image which will expand and contract around any image even if it is out of sequence. I can't find an example online at the minute eventhough I have seen the effect several times but this link has a similar effect when looking at the photos...[URL]..
The bottom of the page moves up and down to accomodate the shape of the images. The difference is I want the whole image to be surrounded and the boarder to change vertically and horizontally.
I hope this is clear. Are there any tutorials I should look at? Is there a specific name for this effect which I could do a google search for a tutorial because I can't seem to find anything.
There's two frames and I created a button in frame1 that it will tween its tint from grey to red color(using tweenmax) whenever mouse over and out. It will go to frame2 when the button got clicked, and on entering frame2 the button will remain in red color. Also in frame2 I set the button will return to grey color and it will return to frame1 when the button got clicked. The button works fine for the first round as it change its color and switch the frames. However, it didn't remain in red color for the second round I clicked it (It still responsed to mouse over and out).
I will try to give as much detail as I can. I am creating an CRM application using Flex(Cairngorm 2)/Java/Hibernate. The basic problem I am having is this: I have a Customer class in Java that has an ArrayList of Address classes. I have a Customer class in Flex that has an ArrayCollection of Address classes. When I make the remote object call for a Customer I get back a Customer object in Flex, but the ArrayCollecion objects have a data type of Object instead of Address. If I try to call for a List of Address classes I get the same result. If I try to call for a List of Customer classes I get a list of Customer classes in Flex. Using tomcat 6 with the following jars:
I accidentally clicked an area on the timeline that made all the frames to the right of the layers disappear. I've gone through all the menus including VIEW and WINDOW where I thought I would be able to make the frames appear and can't find it anywhere! I've docked and un-docked, moved around the timeline and still can't get the frames back. Adobe HELP couldn't help me. How do I get the frames to get back to the right of the layers?
This is probably really simple but I don't know what I am doing. I have two arrows, one to go back and one to go forwards. They can move 5 frames either way - or go to the next or previous frame label - same thing. I can't seem to get it to work
I'm making a game with health bars in it and I'm trying to have it so that if a character is hit, the bar will go forward a certain number of frames before it eventually hits zero.The thing is, I'm a dunce and I'm not sure how to do this exactly. All I need to know is the going ahead a certain number of frames part.Say on an action I needed a movie clip to go ahead three frames. How would I code that? I thought I could use nextFrame(); while putting a 3 in the parenthesis, but that doesn't seem to do anything.
So I have a movie with 20 frames...on each frame...there is a question...so I want the user to access that pool of questions...when it pops up...it will randomly choose a Frame to go to...Now...how do I go about...when that Frame is chosen...take it out of the pool of the random questions...so it doesn't land on that frame again...I'm thinking with variables maybe...but I actually don't know how to even begin to write the code for that.
I have a page which has an intro animation which lasts 314 frames and finishes with a button. When you click the button it takes you to a separate html page with a scrolling photogallery. When I click the 'back' button in the photogallery it takes me back to the first html page with the intro animation.
How do I make sure that when I click the back button it skips the first 314 frames (bearing in mind I am returning from a separate html page)?
In the continuing evolution of my code, I simply want a button to alternate moving the playhead backwards and forwards along the timeline between frames 1 and 17. This code is not working. I have attached a screen capture to clarify your questions in advance
