Is there an SWF player with a slider control, play and Stop, total play time; so you can jump to different sections in an SWF movie without having to watch it from beginning to end?
View 1 RepliesI compiled two swfs into a single exe using a converter. Both swfs have the same 5 tabs for the 5 sections of my presentation. Swf A has all the stuff for the first 4 tabs, Swf B has the stuff for tab 5. When I start the exe & navigate all around in the first 4 tabs & their sub-sections, everything's fine. I can also click on tab 5 & the Swf B stuff starts playing right away & I can navigate all around in there.
BUT... After I've been clicking on the tab 5 stuff, if I click on any of the 4 tabs from Swf A it kicks me all the way back to the intro animation at the start of Swf A. What I need is to have it go to the first frame for each of those tabbed sections. (e.g. frame 5, 38, 93,...) I did gotoMovie & then gotoAndPlay & the frame number, but it sends me back to frame 1 anyway. How do I get it to go to the frame I want? This is in AS 2, by the way...
I have a 180mb SWF which is a lecture from one of my online classes, when i try to watch it i can watch about 20 minutes and then it will run out of memory. I watched in my task manager as Flash player went from only using 20mb to upwards of 500mb to 1000mb and it kept going up, it's like the more i watch it just keeps going up and up. Tried it on 3 different computers and still get the same problem, is there some reason this would be happening? Why does flash player eat up so much memory? I have Adobe Flash CS4 installed so it's playing through the player not a web browser or anything. (tried it in web browser and it does the same thing)
View 2 RepliesI've been waiting for the day that flash gets access to raw audio data. That day is now, but i'm not sure how to get 10.1 working in CS4. I have 10.1 installed and a function bound to the mic's "SampleDataEvent.SAMPLE_DATA" but my "micSampleData" function is not being called.

i am making a flash demo and have a bunch of different sections / categories that the movie will need to navigate to. I created a similar demo previously and used different "scenes" to keep track and organize the different categories. Should i keep using scenes to navigate to or is there a better, more professional way to do my movie?Also, where could i find more information on properly organizing and setting up my flash files? ie: naming conventions, etc.

View 3 RepliesI've developed Players that have a xml based playlist, that play external SWF's.
I have many such players, the situation is that a player has a maximum of 5 files to play. So if I'm playing 1st player, which has 5 files, when the 5th file of the player is being played, and I click on next button, the 2 player should load, and start playing its 1 file.
Similarly if I'm playing the 2nd player and the 1st file of the 2nd player is being played, and if I click on previous button the 1st player should load and start playing its 5th file.
I've been searching high and low for a tutorial for your Flash movie that will show you how to make the movie ask for the users name at the begining and then it'll disply the name later on in the movie.

We would like the page to have a 30 sec movie on it that people have to watch in order to get online. I have 2 ideas on how to do this. 1. watch the movie and when movie is over automatically call to our login script and then log the user in through our network device. 2. have a get online button grayed out until the movie is over after the movie is over button becomes clickable and then the button after clicked calls to the script that logs my users in through my device.
View 5 RepliesI found this seamingly usefull mini tutorial on Actionscripts.org on how to use the FLASHVARS value in the 'HTML' to controll which part of the Flash movie is shown. But I can't get it to work, the AS gives loads of errors in Flash. The value is set, as I have got a textbox showing it the values. here is the AS I did as an experement,It's just supposed to move the playhead to a different named frame depending which page loads the Flash.the FlashVars value in the html pages is page=one and page=two.

I have a VLC player streaming my webcam video through RTSP on 5544 port, the video is encapsulated with MPEG-TS and compressed with MPEG-4 for both audio and video (as is VLC's default I suppose)You can access the streaming video with the following URL:[URL] All is working till here. View 1 RepliesI have one line that is going down 500 pixels with the instance called 'vertical'. I also have a line set next to it with aplha = 0. When the vertical line going down reaches 300 pixels, I want the line which is set to 0 to set the alpha = 100. The code I am trying does not work.. Here is what I am putting in

Seems simple enough, but the line becomes 100% alpha from the very beginning of the movie. Do I have to do anything with _root or what?
I just upgraded to flash player 10.1 and there's an issue with a program that I've been working on. I'm copying text from a mysql table that is formatted with spaces and newlines (including spaces and newlines at the beginning of the text) into a textArea in Flex 3.5. Before the update,it worked fine. Now when AS retrieves the text from the table, it does not include the spaces and newlines at the beginning of the text.I'm using xml to retrieve the text.

I have a motion tween that is 180 frames in length. When the tween ends on the last frame and returns to the first frame to replay there is a slight jump in the tween. Is there anyway to stop the tween from jumping from last frame to the first?

View 1 RepliesI am working on a tabular file that when you click on one of the tabs (there is 7) you view the content of that layer.
The code I am using works fine:

but when you view the "land" layer, go back to another tab and go back to the "land" layer it doesn't reload and start at frame 1 but the last frame you were at.
I desperately need it to "reload" when you release on the action above and to GoToAndPlay frame 1 but whatever code I try it won't do it.
I created a movie clip which plays ok. But when it ends there is a slight jump, if you will, when it goes back to frame 1 to begin playing again. Does anyone know how to make the transition unnoticeable from the last frame of a movie clip to the first frame of a movie clip?
View 4 RepliesI'm working on a Flash movie that includes a simple on/off audio player. At the end of the movie it loops back to the beginning and plays again. if the viewer hits the sound off button it will turn the sound off untill the movie loops and then the audio automatically starts again. The viewer would then have to hit play again and then stop to stop it. Is it possible to fix this? I think that I ned to put a piece of code at the beginning of the movie to check if the sound is off or not and then to continue to keep it off if needed?Here is the code for the sound player I am using...

I am brand new to scripting in Flash, and was hoping I could get some help on a question. I have an animation that is 300 frames long. The first 100 frames are an animated 'ad' (for lack of a better term), the second 100 frames are a different ad, and the third 100 frames are the last ad. This can be viewed straight from beginning to end (and is intended to loop if no action is taken), but I would also like to add some functionality to the animation, so that people can jump forward to the next ad, or back to the previous ad (hitting back from the first ad would take them to the third ad, and vice versa.)

I have three buttons all in a movie clip called 'container'.
I am loading variable into container from a text file and doing a test to see which button is the correct one. At the moment that is all working fine, when the correct button is pressed I output "yes" using the trace command.
I want to however jump to another movie entirely called 'Succ' when the correct button is pressed and jump to a movie called 'Fail' otherwise.
Each button has the following code attached to it

I have created a layer called 'Movies' at the Scene 1 level and on the sixth frame I have inserted a keyframe and called the frame 'Succ'. I have my successfull movie here, which is what I am trying to jump to when my correct button is clicked.

im been trying to make a stationary movie clip do a jump move to the top, slowing down, and then comming back down (like a ball being thrown vertically up) within a given number of frames, ie 10 frames.
Also i would want to add a horizontal vector quantity whereby if a key is pressed (ie left) then it would move horizontally left while still in jump mode.
Does an actionscript like this exist?
I have many buttons in a few movie files, i need to select a few of these buttons and store them in an array so i use....

I then need to show a movie file if the button that has been clicked on is in the array. so something like...
if e.target.name is in the array show the movie twocolor.visible = true;
i then need to go to a certain frame of the movie, depending upon where the button is found in the array. So if the button is at position three of the array, i need to jump to keyframe 3 of my movie.
