ActionScript 3.0 :: Get A Script That Would Play An Animation Consisting Of 4 Frames For Say 20 Seconds?

I need a script that would play an animation consisting of 4 frames for, say 20 seconds. The order of those frames needs to be random but it has to stop after 20 seconds.Next, frames need to change each, say, half a second. But, as much as I MIGHT be able to figure this one out, here's what made me post here. The four frames are four keys on a keyboard. Each time frame changes to a corresponding key drawing, one has to hit the right key on the keyboard to make a different animation on the stage, animate.

URL...I have created an animation which has the bird fly up & chirp, and would like to replace all the birds with this.For now I have replaced all buttons w/ the animation on stage and they all lie on the 1st frame. ok lets say you create a button that when held down play an animation of 20 frames if realsed it goes to frame one and stops if held down it plays out this animation. for the topic lets say you have a fire animation and you want the fire to apear and if the user hold its down the animation reaches the end of the time line and loops back and plays the last 5 frames of the animation and as soon as it is let go it goes to and stops at frame one. Well i know how to make a button that when held down plays out an animation. And i know how to say when released goes to and stops at frame one. What i dont know how to do is to loop the fire at the last 5 or 6 frames so the user can hold it down all day long and play out that animation.

I have a movie clip symbol that is place on my main time line.I want the movie clip to display frames for (x) seconds then go to the next frame.I have a chunk of code that works by itself but when placed into my flash site it is causing some strange problems. Such as navigating to a label (page) prior to the movie clip that has the wait function code, freezes the flash.I am wondering if I need _root or a this in there somewhere.

The reason I want to do this is so I don't have to add a bunch of frames to get the pause time I need.Is there a way to use the code below and not have it cause problems with the rest of my time line?Here is the wait function code

I'm using flash 8.  I'm tiring to create a button consisting only of text, so when testing the movie the clickable area is only the text body as I create it in the up, over or down state. So I draw a rectangle in the Hit state but when testing the button its still acting the same.

I just signed up and am fairly new to flash so I hope I'm posting in the right spot. My problem that I'm having is I am trying to build a menu consisting 3 buttons, side by side that open and reveal subnavigation buttons on rollover. Then on rollout of the main container button, they close back to where they were. I have built the buttons and everything works great, the only problem is that on rollover of the internal buttons, the main button senses this as a roll out and plays the rollout animation event (closes the button). How can I make the main button not sense the rollovers of the internal buttons and only play the rollout event on rollout of the main button?

I'm creating a simple image slideshow gallery where the images are presented one after the other in -fade-in - fade-out animation. I'm looking for a 'smart' way of delaying/pausing the slide show at the peak of the image brightness. I've found several codes however, they messed up the function of the PAUSE, NEXT and BACK buttons. Pause button would pause on an image, however the delay timer would start counting once again and the animation continues.

I have a certain set of motion twains that I've successfuly completed, they constantly loop right now (default), and is saved in the SWF file.I'd like to take that finished looping animation, and insert it within another animation (a) that can be played with a play button, and stopped/resetted with a stop button.How do I insert the completed looping animation into the main animation? And is there something special I have to do in the actionscript of the start and stop buttons so that the "inner" looping animation will start and stop with the "outer" main animation?

I'm using this var timer2 = setTimeout(checkValue2, 2000);

as a frame action in Frame 2, which then triggers checkValue2 which is a piece of function in Frame 1 where all the _global. variables are as well.

clearTimeout(timer2);
gotoAndStop(3); //goto lvl3 - throw
addStage3();

it'd then goto Frame 3, but, the problem is even after clearing, the frame animation still loops every 2 seconds, regardless whether i'm using setTimeout or setInterval. Do you might know of any other way where what I need is, after 2 seconds in Frame 2, it'd then move to Frame 3, which I don't want it to go anywhere yet.

I am working in AS2, and am looking for a code that allows me to stop the frame (which is easy: stop() and then make that frame "play" if you will for 30 seconds, and then gotoAndPlay("nextframe"). Is this even possible? I know there's a getTimer(); code, but I have no idea how it works. (I have animations going on in the different frames through movie clips, not on the timeline. Basically trying to make a "movie" with flash)
