ive tried making a image fill preloader using masks etc. When publishing its just showing my preloader not continuing to my content.which is on frame 11. I was wondering if anyne can help me with code?

I've got a question about a swf that needs to be opaque. I've got a gradient fill in the .swf that creates a nice background. But I want to import this file in a flash/xml website and the file has to be opaque in order to work properly.

I am using the tutorial for the simple inventory system located here. I've got it working fine within my game I'm making. However, if the player uses an item in the middle (or, in fact, anywhere other than the end) of the inventory list, it leaves a gap where it once was. How would I go about making each of the found items in the inventory move back one slot upon the player using an item?
I've uploaded a sample of my current inventory system here. To understand what I mean, pick up all four items (in any order) and then "use" one of the first three items you picked up. You should see a gap has been left in the inventory. I want this gap to be filled in by the remaining items in the inventory once said item has been used.
I've been thinking about it and I think a method that may work would be to do a hit test for all of the slots every time an item is used (to check if any slots don't have any items overlapping them), and move all of the items that are positioned to the right of it left by 60 pixels (as each slot and item is 60x60). This could work in theory but I'm not sure if it's the best method, or how to actually do it. Does anyone know how I could achieve this? Or know of any better tutorials for inventory systems that include this feature already?

how this site was made so that it fits every browser window completely, with no borders or distortion to the site? http:[url]....I want my site to fill the screen and the only way I know is 'exactfit' in the html but this stretches the file on certain browsers.

changing a preloader I have into a preloader that can be used for loading external swf.Now the code for the preloader is

I have an image that doesn't fill the <mx:Image> tag because it's not the exact dimensions (it is too short) and I have maintainAspectRatio set to true:

horizontalCenter="0"[code]....
The <mx:Image> tag has a fixed width and height (it's 100% of the tile size--this is in an ItemRenderer). How do I get the image to sit on the bottom of the <mx:Image> tag?

REQS: - 3 layers of images (groups) with a parallaxe like effect, meaning: * through gaps in top layer you see the second and through that the third layer. * subsequent layers appear incrementally smaller. * top layer moves quickest, subsequent layers move incrementally slower * 'hazy' effect (gray semi transparant mask or blur) increases for 'farther' away layers.
- random keypress moves layers horizontally in one direction only. - space bar halts movement for all layers. - backspace and return keys zoom to next/prev layers.
- all keystrokes are visible in a textbox. Results are possibly used/stored. - pristine quality images - quick loading
I first started working out a prototype in Javascipt using JQuery and some available plugins after which I wrote some own code. This gets me in a good direction, but there's one MAJOR problem: file size. This, among other reasons, make me consider using Flash. I haven't used Flash in years and have just started diving into Actionscript 3, which is a beauty! Let me explain a bit more and tell me how feasible my idea is.

I'm trying to make a preloader in which a grayscale logo fills with color based on the number of frames loaded. What I've done is make a static grayscale version of the logo named border and a colored in version on top of it named LoadBar.I have this code in frame 1,

but now it's telling me this.onRelease = function () { must appear within an on handler. I thought that onRelease was an on handler.

The preloader animation I created requires the water to fill up the container, but not by stretching or scaling a mask to reveal the water volume at the full point. Most tutorials show how to do this by scale, in relation to bytes loaded.

I'm looking to do a preloader for my site, what I want to do is that the user sees the percentage loaded, but instead of the typical bar filling up, I want dots to fill the screen. Each dot would appear with each percentage loaded. So for example, if its on 5%, there would be 5 dots, when it moves to 6%, another dot would appear on the screen. So in the end there would be 100 dots/circles on the screen. maybe say in a 10 by 10 grid. I know how to make the percentage loaded appear, but have no idea about the dots.

trying to create an animated preloader.how to do a basic bar preloader but what I want is to fill a swirl shape (attached) based on the amount loaded.I can easily enough create the movie clip where the full outline is there and then it fills up but I have no idea how to turn that into a preloaded and have it fill based on the percent loaded. Am I correct in assuming I can't use a mask because of the irregular shape?

Since there is no actionscript function to set the registration point of a movieclip, I created a movieclip that I want to hold my image in my Project.fla file with a centered registration point I then add the movieclip to the stage in my Project.as file:var holder:Holder = new Holder();addChild(holder);The holder is successfully on the stage, and I now load my external image file that I would like to be inside of my image placeholder:var imageLoader:Loader;imageLoader = new Loader();imageLoader.load(new RLRequest("images/ball1.png"));addChild(imageLoader);What I am now trying to do is insert the imageLoader into my holder so that I can alter it as though the registration point is in the center

I've been working on a Flash site on and off for some years now and despite the fact it's been near the finishing stage for some time, the biggest problem I've had has been my custom photo gallery. The concept is simple, a panel has a group of images loaded into it, and each one is resized to thumbnail size. On clicking one of the thumbnails, it enlarges or zooms itself to fill the panel. I've only recently managed to get one image to zoom in from the centre, stopping when it reaches a specific size, and therefore have left it working this way. What I want however, is for the images to be loaded in row formation, and on clicking each one, it "zooms in" from its position to fill the whole panel. Currently I have the thumbnail movieclip duplicated, with a different image loaded into each copy, on clicking one of the images, it zooms from the centre, although obviously, this is not what I want. I've attached my source and images in a file called GalleryProblem.zip.

Im trying to make a preloader. this is my first attempt and from a tutorial and some minor adjustments on my part this is what ive come up with. i was wondering if there was a way to add a percent, and also why this doesnt disapear after its done loading. it remains on the stage throughout the loaded swf.

well i have developed a small website in flash 8 and i m facing some problems with it...
- the website has content (text) which is loaded externally
- the images are also called externally with the help of 'loader' component
- i have added a preloader at the beginning of my file
but still when i loaded it on the server....the images and the content is coming slowly....
load the whole file completely at the time of loading (including the external content)...?

In order to learn the ins and outs of preloaders in ActionScript 3.0 I've been working on a program in Flash CS4. The problem I'm having is that the preloader is not throwing/recieving the Progress and Complete events.I decided to make the preloader an independant class and put it in a seperate package from the document class. I also made a second independant class to serve as a progress bar, which the preloader includes. Basically the structure of my program is Flash File>Document Class>Preloader Class>ProgressBar Class.So far the Document Class creates the Preloader and puts it on the screen (a black box with a progress bar on it so far, I'll add text later). What I'm working on now is getting it to actually preload, so that on the Progress events it increases the size of the bar untill it's completed, and then puts a play button on the stage when it recieves the Complete event.The examples and tutorials I've read on preloaders suggest that all you have to do is monitor the loaderInfo property of the stage object using various events. In order for the external Preloader Class to access the loaderInfo property of the stage, I pass the stage.loaderInfo property to the external Preloader Class constructor as an argument, and the _targetLoaderInfo property of the Preloader Class has that argument assigned to it. I then set up the Progress and Complete events on the _targetLoaderInfo property, expecting it to pass through to the loaderInfo property of the stage. It's not working.

I've had some trouble making a preloader for external .jpg files. The problem is in the onEnterFrame, I'll show you some part:

that is just a part of the hole function, but I think it will be enough. It traces "lele" once, not when mc enters a new frame. I've also tried to call it with different ways like:

i'm making a preloader for my banner rotator, but the reason to be here writing this post is to ask for help to fix a bug in my preloader, for example: When I click on a button to change the image while the preloader is counting it simply starts counting the the bytesLoaded of old image + the new image(bytes) of the button I've clicked. Then the percentage goes over the 100% ... I didn't want to disable the button, I know is possible in some way but I am not finding success.

I am trying to build a preloader class for loading external content (images in a gallery). I have no experience in this area and I could not find many examples of making preloader classes. I was wondering if and how would it be possible to trace bytesLoaded and bytesTotal from within the preloader custom class. I was trying to pass the Loader's variable into the class and then try to trace the bytes but no luck with that.

When I test the site with the preloader.swf file I made for it, it loads, but then some of my button functions do not work in the site. When I test the site fla file everything works fine. I have been trying things out with the preloader code, but not sure what would cause this.

I am trying to draw a line from x1, y1 to x2,y2 and i want it to be a line that repeats a pattern from an image. All I can see is that you can only draw lines and change their color or thickness but I would like it to repeat an image. Is that possible or do i have to use a really long and thin rectangle with a bitmap fill?The problem is I am making a game where the user will be able to actually draw the line so i have to make it be created dynamically. The game fantastic contraption [URL] has in the game a feature where you draw lines of any length and position that are filed with a picture.

1. What is lock fill; whenever I am trying to fill a color, it shows lock fill....
2. If I am creating a non regular figure like say with pencil, if I draw some part of it & do other part by later; these will be assumed different objects & I am not able to fill the whole figure with a selected color.
