So within my Flash document I have a rollover movieclip that contains a UI scrollbar. My question is, can I modify this rollover script to be active until it reachs a certain frame in the animation and then become inactive so that the scrollbar works? Or, is there some script that I can use to make the UI scrollbar active within the rollover clip?

View 1 RepliesOkay, now things are getting a little complicated. I need to build a Flash object that can sit over the corner of an image to serve extra content. It's way beyond my Flash skill level, my work is usually limited to print work in Photoshop and Illustrator so please excuse me if any of the following isn't clear. I am trying to learn though, So this is how it's all supposed to work, along with my issues; When the image & Flash item load a small looping animation will play to draw the eye/show the item as interactive.
When the user rolls over this the corner will peelback. I have a working peelback animation for the rollover, that reacts to mouse over/mouse off, and a looping animation for the initial, but I cannot work out how to make the initial loop until mouseover, then play the peelback when the mouse is over. And go back to the initial animation loop if the user rolls off. (Each of these animations is stored as a movie clip in the Library)
Then it gets more complicated... if the user stays on the corner until it is fully peeled back I need to make a small countdown (sort of a 3, 2, 1 situation) show, before launching a lightbox (would this have to be jQuery, or could it be done in Flash?) in the browser to serve the content.

I created a movieclip animation that only activates when i rollover the movieclip button. I further extended the frames and created another frame animation that i active only when user clicks the button. So i have a roll over/out animation and click animation in the same movieclip in the same layer. Now the problem is that when i click on the button, its supposed to take me to another page, and it does, unfortunately without the click animation. That means after i click on the button its supposed to first finish the click animation and then go to another page. But when i click, it takes me to another page without showing the click animation
SO I tried the If function, but i seem to make a mistake somewhere and i dont know what to do. Now there is no error in script, but onw there is a problem in link, the button finishes the click animation but it does not go to the tarrgeted"about" frame. here's the code

I was wondering how to create a button that will animate with rollover and rolloff? For example, if I have a box and when you rollover, the box will slide up and a text slides down. and once you roll off, the box will slide back down to its original place and text will slide back up behind the box?

1. a button that when rolled over animates(working)
2. the button when clicked should play another 'animation' that is placed on the scene(can't get to work)

I'd like to pause an animation loop when I rollover a button(the button is part of the area that is being animated and I want all the other buttons to stop animating except for the one I rollover) and then start the animation back up again when I rollout.

View 4 RepliesI've had this problem numerous times. I want to disable click events for a Button and have the Button appear disabled, but still respond to rollOver/rollOut events.
1. Consider a UI where users can vote for items they are viewing via a "vote" button when viewing an item -- they view one item at a time and there's one vote button on the UI.
2. User clicks "vote" and it sends the vote information to server etc, and stores in the session that the user voted for that item.
3. User can only vote for an item once. So to reflect this, I disable the vote button via Button.enabled = false. This makes the button visually disabled for the user and the user can't click it to vote again.
4. However, I want the user to know why the vote button is disabled, in case they forget they voted for the item and don't intuitively know why the button is disabled. In order to do this, I want rolling over the disabled button to give the user some feedback, like a tooltip that says "You already voted for this item."
5. Because the Button is disabled, I cannot respond to rollOver or mouseOver events.
There are alternative ways to letting the user know why something is disabled, but many times I think a roll over response with a visually disabled button fits the UI situation best. The only solutions I've come with are to check hitTestPoint with the mouse location on mouseMove (nasty) or create an invisible overlay button over the disabled button (also nasty.)
I have some action script (3.0) Currently, it will allow the viewer to click a button (thumbnail image) and a larger ver. of that image will appear on the stage. I would like to convert this script to a "roll_over" the button (thumbnail image) and the larger image will appear on the stage. When I tried to do this with my new Flash CS4 - it did not work. This should be simple.... Right???

i have my main timeline with all the code on the first layer all is good there. But then inside a movie clip that is inside another that plays an animation i have some more code to load an external swf.
the code works fine i have tested it but it does not seem to want to work when its put in the timeline inside a movieclip.
I know i can put it on the first main stage layer with all my code and it will work but i want it only to work after i click a button and that button has played its animation.
When the page loads, the first menu button (PORTFOLIO) is automatically OnClick. I want the user to be able to rollover it and click it when the page loads. I attached my file.

View 6 RepliesI started some days ago with Adobe Flash CS4, and I need to create buttons now. The button I want to create this time should be a frame by frame button, so when the user clicks 1 time on the button the animation needs to go 1 frame further and pause there.
This is what I coded so far:

View 2 Replies*trouble with gotoandplay and roll out functions* basically i have an after effects movieclip (followed the after effects button tutorial on this site) that i have made into a button. it works ok on rollover and rollout i use tweener which works a treat and when i click it goes to another frame and plays a small sequence of smoke exploding.
problem: its a look problem really. when i rollout the smoke click sequence tweens back to frame 0 as per my rollout instructions IS there a way for me to have the click smoke sequence play all the way through before going back to frame 0 on my rollout ? i see tweener has a oncomplete statment is that of anyuse? ive tried a few thigns but it always reverts to the rollout and reverses the footage.

I have an interactive map that I would like to script so that when a county is clicked, it sends through to a page called results.php this HTML table:

So County and MerchantType are fields in a SQL table. The script needs to tell the results.php page that County A and MerchantType B has been sent.
Where A is the name of the county and B is ALL (the default i've chosen for MerchantType)
I want to rollover a button and have it trigger the rollover state of another button. The buttons overlap. The one on top is transparent and smaller than the bottom button. I've tried to create this rollover navigation...starting over 6 times already. Is there different language / coding for 1.0 and 2.0? I don't understand what I'm doing wrong.
I have created two buttons (Button1 and Button2). When you click Button1, an animation pops up. You click on the animation to close it - that works fine. If I then click on Button1 again to replay the animation, the animation does not show. If I click on Button2 THEN go back to click on Button1, the animation plays. Why can I not click that same button twice in a row? What am I doing wrong?

For example, I am at the Homepage of my website then I click on the Contact button. The homepage will first go to Homepage's outro animation then go to the Contact page. I need the button to recognize the page/clip being played and the page it will go to.
View 1 RepliesI want to create a button that toggles but has a roll over, roll out and click animation. Anyone willing to point me in the direction I need to be so that I can achieve this. I can create the roll over and roll out animation for the buttons but then how could I toggle between the two buttons. Ultimately this is for a start and stop situation. I want when I roll over the button for it to have a transition then click and it toggles to the alternate button with animation. I have been tackling this now for a week and with no success. So far I have found ways to toggle but loose the animation or vice verse.
