ActionScript 2.0 :: Display Order Of Dynamic Content?

I've been working on this catalog system for awhile now, and have it working almost perfectly. But one problem still remains...
I'm dynamically loading content (jpgs & text) into a scrollpane from an xml file. It should display an image, and then below it some associated text. My problem is that when the content loads in, the first jpg isnt visible. I'm pretty sure its there because all the other jpgs load. What I think is happening is that the scrollpane is displaying the text below the 1st jpg at the very top of the scrollpane, which leaves the jpg above the scrollpane and thus not visible.
When I first started this catalog. I was loading the content into an MC I had manually created and was attaching to the scrollpane via attachMovie. I had the same problem as above in this scenario as well...and to correct that what I did was make a box that went around the entire are that the jpgs and text loaded into. This allowed the jpg to show up.
But now that I'm dynamically creating both the holder MC and the textfield, I'm back to losing the 1st jpg image. It seems to me that the scrollpane needs something above the jpg holder MC for it to be displayed.

I am using a content loader through AS3 to load some images and then later pushed into an array. I have pushed my image file paths in to an array (arrayImages). But when the loader loads the images it doesn't load the images based on the order they are listed in the arrayImages, instead they were loaded based on their file sizes. Is there anyway that these can be loaded in the order they were pushed to the array? Below is the code that i use to load the images.

find the code to pull some simple text from an external website's RSS feed into a basic text box in a Flash movie. It would need to be in AS2 to fit with the website. I understand I need to pull the content via an xml / php page under my own domain in order to get around the Flash security, but I still can't scrape together the right code for it to work.

how it is possible to edit dynamic content and modify the content and save it, all within flash.I have tried some experiments in the past and have got the text to change etc which is easy but i need a way to save the content so the next time anybody sees the flash it will have the latest content until i change it again.

I have a series of mc's that I'm adding to the a display list of "theContainer". This is a "canvas" I'm using to drag mc's around on to make various pictures.I've set up my code so I can click any mc in that list and make it "selected". I can then, with controls outside "theContainer", change the selected clip's scale or alpha, etc.I'd like to set up 2 buttons outside that display list so I can change the stacking order of those clips in "theContainer".So if I add clip "a" to the display list, then add clip "b" to the display list, then add "c" and "d" and "e and "f" to it, I want to be able to move any of those clips forward or backward.First I'd need to learn what the index is of the clip I want to move up or down in the display list.[code]That's my problem, I can't know what the index is, or how to get a property to find it.I'm looking for a way to "get the clip's index" then to "make the index, the current index + 1", to move it up in the display list."setChildIndex( dispObj, index ) would be nice if I could know what the index was and then add +1 to it like this:setChildIndex(clip, current index + 1);

How do I change the stacking order of Display Objects in AS3? I have a semi-transparent caption box that is supposed to be on top of externally loaded images. no matter where I place the script for that box in the code, the images always load on top of it.

Currently I am trying to load 5 different swfs in order. Everytime a button is selected I want to move to the next swf. And once I reach 5 the next image should be 1 (again - loop). I started with a code like this on frame 1 in "scene 1":

where "_root.j = 1" ----- "1" is the first swf loaded. But it was stuck on 1.
My newbie skills figured this out so to avoid zero, but it's random. And things repeat too closely.

My Question: What can "_root.j" equal so that 1,2,3,4,5 cycles? I have to work within these parameters cause this template is deep.

The user has to drag and drop each toy into its correct box. I want each toy to continuously come out in a random order. (1 idea) randomly select movie clips from the library? Each movieclip representing a toy.

I have an xml doc which works beautifully....now I want to edit the "content" so that it display html content, ie....within the text of the "content" I could add bold tags or add a links or something like that....I have looked up and down and no thread I could find has a straight forward definitive answer...not just on here either...is it that difficult...i doubt it?I will have to set the properties of my text box to accept html...right?so something like this....

I have a button I am creating from 2 movieclips in the library. One is the button body (shape converted to MC). The 2nd is a series of button logo PNG's for an additional visual button state change.I add the logo MC with addChild to the button body. Then I add the button body to display/stage container. ll is layered correctly.If I add alpha or transform the color to the button body, it goes to the top - covering the button logo.Not applying the color or alpha to the button body and applying a color or alpha to the button logo has not effect (displays correctly).

I'm still learning how to use Flash... and am still struggling on one thing. It may seem simple to the most of you -- how exactly do you have the content displayed once you click the button? I'm attempting to have the content for each navigation link button to show up each time it's clicked. Still a failure.

Long story short, I'm developing a theme template for a blog that enables you to view the posts in blocks. The main part of the post is displayed at first, then the secondary content is displayed over that when you hover over the post block. Everything works fine on a Mac Versions of all major browsers, but start browsing on a PC, and all hell breaks loose when you start trying to display content over Flash Video embeds. The flash element remains visible over the content. It's completely unusable.
From a PC, you can view an example of the problem here: [URL] I'm almost certain this is a bug in the Flash Plugin for Windows, but I was wondering if anyone else had come across this problem before, and if there were any solutions.

this concerns flash cs5 and the timeline.Everybody knows the effect you get when you use appendText() to add text to a multiline dynamic textfield, right ? Well, I have a movieClip as a container, and I would like dynamic textfields to populate this movieclip in the same manner as textStrings would populate the dynamic Textfield.
How would this work?I have buttons that trigger addChild() function so as to populate the movieclip with textfields, but how do I make sure that the textfields make up an arbitrary list as a menu user chooses which buttons to click?
Let's say this is the visible text when the swf runs.(I cut away some of the code to make this more to the point):

I'm not quite sure how to do this - I'm building an admin interface to sort the order of a series of flash slides into a dynamic presentation. The admin interface pulls the slides from xml and displays each as a thumbnail. The thumbnails, when dragged, reorder themselves in the array appropriately. The problem is, I want the actual array of slides to reorganize itself accordingly. My code is this:

I got an mc named "zoom" which the mouse cursor should switch into whenever the cursor itself is onRollover on an mc "img".
This "zoom" mc consists of two frames with (respectively) a "+" zoom cursor and a "-" zoom cursor.
I'm unable to set the cursor in order to display the "-" cursor when "img" is zoomed and the "+" cursor when "img" is not zoomed.

I am calling one method at an interval of 3 sec. This method reads a file from server and then display its content. The file which is getting read is a log file which gets updated at regular interval. The issue is once some content read by AS then it is not getting updated that means after every execution of the function content of src variable below remains same even thou the source file is updated.

I created a scrollpane in as3 and set its source to another object, which contains several rows of icons. The scrollbar in the scrollpane is getting the right length, which means the object was loaded as expected, but the contant is not showing correctly.
I created a Thumbnail class for this file to load and make each individual thumbnail. Here is my code, the red text is where each thumbnail is loaded:
