ActionScript 2.0 :: [MX] Use This Movieclip In Another Movieclip Using Loadmovie?
Sep 20, 2004
[URL] I want to use this movieclip in another movieclip using loadmovie.Ofcourse the "_root referring to"'s have to be changed . but I just can't get it working.Mainmovie.fla using as. to get submovie.fla.submovie contains the as. used in the topic.
I used attachMovie to load a movieclip from the library into the stage. And in the movieclip, it has another movieclip named "imageHolder".As I wanted the movieclip to be placed on the stage like a list of buttons. The code goes as follows:[code]But the something.jpg doesn't appeared when I test the movie. And something.jpg is in the same directory as the .fla file.
I have a scroll movieclip which contains 15 buttons each button is an instance of 1main button. I have the button frame inside the timeline of the movie clip and the actions in frame 1 of the clip.onrelease should call the loadMovie function and load another. swf in level 1.[code]it only works using LoadMovie not LoadMovieNum but instead of loading the swf into level 1 it loads into level 0.i can use this the way it is but why is it only loading in level 0?
I'm dynamically creating an empty movieclip inside another movieclip to load an image into it. How could i make sure that this image is always centred in the movieclip?
Also, if i have a attached movieclip named E.G. 1M how do i find out the x and y position to make it appear next to each other?
I can't manage to load jpg in some duplicated mc. I tried to add the as to the container mc "img"
Code:onClipEvent (load){ this.loadMovie(_parent._name+".jpg"); which trace the correct path to the jpg but the jpg don't show up. (Which would be wrong as if I remember well, the mc when being duplicated loses the loadMovie part????To be confirm) So I thought that maybe the best would be to have it done while duplicating the movie but whatever I have beeen trying has been unsucessful. Here is the codes with duplicating mc.
I'm making a new as3 file, and there I made an animation, like an intro for my website, in a movie clip. But what I want is, when this animation or this movie clip ends, automatically it charges another swf with my website, without having to press any button. I read some tutorials on internet that I can make this, creating a new empty movie clip, and then writing some code, but it didn't work me.
i am trying to load a list of jpgs in to flash using as 3. eventually i am going to tile them etc. but right now my script goes through my for loop and just replaces the image i previously loaded... in as 2. i of course would change the name and depth of these images as i loaded them but i am of course not using createEmptyMovieClip or loadMovie etc.. so i am a bit lost..
I have a color problem when loading a movie clip. I have a root animation with white background including a movieclip. I have to load clips using loadMovie into that movieclip. When I load those movies, who have different background colors, the loaded movie's background color is completely ingored so I always have the white background.
I've tried to find the original background color of the movie I load but no success. Did someone can help me with this problem ?
This is driving me nuts... is it impossible to use attachMovie inside a movieclip you used loadMovie on? For example, I have this but it doesn't work out:
Why doesn't this just load the firstImage.jpg through the loadMovie method and then create an attachedImage_mc on the imageHolder_mc (with the secondImage_mc)? All its doing as of now is loading the first image... then if I comment the loadMovie part, it attaches the second image.
EDIT: Just a little more info. Basically I have a movieclip called imageHolder_mc that I created manually on stage. This movieclip calls LoadMovie to load in a JPG, but later on I need too replace the entire content of it with a movieclip from the library (still keeping the imageHolder_mc instance name).
I'm loading an external movieclip into an empty movieclip which is inside of another movieclip. But the movieclip I'm loading isn't properly centering to the top movieclip.
Way way way off of the top movieclip. I'd at least expect side2's 0,0 point to be in the upper left which would snap to the center point of this. But not even close.
When you use LoadMovie to load a SWF, does that SWF stay loaded, or does it get reloaded every subsequent time you use the LoadMovie function for that same SWF? I use the LoadMovie function in several buttons to load SWFs into my movie. In those same buttons, I use a function which fades a different (already present) movieclip in. However, the LoadMovie call seems to block out the movie clip which needs to fade in; when I click the button, it loads the SWF just fine, the movieclip just doesn't fade in (or it does, but I can't see it), when I comment the LoadMovie call out, the movieclip fades in just fine (and I can see it). Also, I load the SWFs into an empty movieclip, which is beneath all other layers, so that's not the problem.
In my button: Code: on(release){ _root.home.fade(0,100,10); _root.content.loadMovie("home.swf"); }
I've tried: Code: on(release){ _root.content.loadMovie("home.swf"); _root.content.swapDepths(1000); _root.home.fade(0,100,10); } But, that doesn't get me anywhere, either.
Just got into flash about 8 months ago and have an assignment for AS2. (Personally I like AS3, but I have to work the parameters of the project). My question: I have a loadMovie command on the 1st frame of my timeline. How can I play a movieClip from the library and leave it on the stage before the loadMovie. I can provide more details and the code i have so far if needed.
I'm using Flash MX 2004, and using the loadMovie() function to draw an external .swf file into a blank movieclip. My question is how the browser (let's assume Internet Explorer) caches this information. I know that after a Flash movie is loaded within an HTML page, the browser caches it, so that on the next load the movie appears nearly instantly from the cache. However, does it also cache the movie loaded using loadMovie(), or does it always redownload that external movie regardless?
Using loadmovie I'm loading an external SWF on a different domain. Any property changes made to a movie clip in the loaded SWF don't show in a broswer. container.emc.loadMovie([URL]); Inside movieA is the movieclip "box". I don't want "box" to be visible so I've used container.emc.box._visible = false; All working fine at this point, when I preview the SWF from Flash (CS3) I see that box isn't visible. When I open the SWF in the browser, movieA is loaded but box is not set to invisible. This happens with all browsers or any publish settings I try.
I've written a simple MovieClip replacement that converts an existing imported MovieClip to a sequence of BitmapData. This removes the requirement for Flash to render vector data in the MovieClip on each frame.
But BitmapData has a huge memory footprint. I've tried converting the BitmapData to a ByteArray and using the compress() method. This results in a significantly smaller memory footprint. But it has proven impractical. For each redraw, I tried uncompressing()'ing the ByteArray, then using SetPixels to blit the data to the screen, then re-compressing() the frame. This works but is terribly slow.
So I was wondering if anybody else has an approach I could try. In Flash, is it possible to compress bitmap data in memory and quickly blit it to the screen?
I wonder how native animated GIFs work in Flash. Does it uncompress them to BitmapData behind the scenes, or is frame decompression done on the fly?
I have a horizontal scrolling movieclip that scrolls when the mouse is left or right of a certain point of that movieclip. However, it only moves slightly then stops when the cursor goes over it, it doesnt actually scroll normally...
I am trying to activate a rollOver-function when the mouse rolls over a movieclip inside of a movieclip. On the main window (root), first you rollOver a button where a window shows up with more options (movieclips). From stage, my first movieclip is called "catapultas_read_more" which leads to amother movieclip called "pic1_mc". The label that is going to play when mouse over on pic1_mc is "rollOn".I tried this.gotoAndPlay("rollOn); directly inserted to the movieclip, but the movieclip inside pic1_mc never starts
I have movieclip which contains child movieclip. when child movie clip finish to play i want to run a function in a parent movieclip. so I made a custom event dispatcher in the first frame of the child movieclip:
My goal with this actionscript is to create a new movieclip for each top-level XML node and include in the movieclip two separate textfields, an image, extend the movieclips to two row if necessary, rotate each movieclip differently depending its parity and add a hover event based on the movieclips instance name. I have achieved each goal except for the hover bit. The reason I cant access the instance name outside of the for loop is because the instance name only lasts for duration of the loop. Here is my current code (at pastie address).
I have a problem with dragging movieclip which is dynamically generated via attaching movieclip from library.I want to move the movieclip by pressing the yellow square within a boundary say 100*4. I am attaching the flash file with this thread.
i've not tried to do anything odd with eventListeners up until now. i have a movieclip with multiple frames that i use AS to attach a textfield to it. problem is i have a eventlistener for when the mouse rollsover the movieclip to go to frame 3 of the movieclip.
[Code]...
what's causing the textfield to suddenly take precedence and how do i stop it. when i trace the evt.target - it is my movieclip.
Okay I have a script in which I have added an image to the stage. It is absolute centered. I then have another with is on top but much bigger. I would like the big image to move opposite of my mouse position on the smaller image. ie: cursor is on bottom left corner the bottom left corner of the larger image is in the same spot. And the same thing for any other area.
I have tried many different ways but to no avail. I have done research but no one has been able to give me a solid answer. Anyone know of a way to accomplish this. Keep in mind this it needs to work regardless of the image size.
I have a movieclip instance named 'placeholder' on the canvas, and I want to change the alpha of the named movieclip from it's class without effecting the alpha of all the movieclips of the same type. How would I specifically target the named movieclip instance that is on the canvas?
